I have a question maybe someone could answer for me...

Recommended Posts

I have a family member applying for a firearms permit for teh first time

teh question is...

When he was 15 he pleaded guilty for a graffitti charge

he didn't go to jail but he got community service...

so in teh application it asks about juvenile delinquency

I suppose he has to mention that of course...?

and would that basically not allow him to get teh permit?

Thanks...

INAL but If he wasn't arrested, the community service was in-house and the case didn't go to the prosecutor's office I'm positive he doesn't have to write down. The best advice would be for him to call his police dept and find out.

thëre have been people denied for Juvenile offenses because thëy didn't disclose them. I would suggest talking to the records person and thëy will direct you to the officer who's in charge and go over it with that person.

Having been in a similar predicament myself I can tell you to list it. The officer that does the interview will ask questions about it but it does not mean a rejection. Not listing something and letting them find it will usually result in a big delay at best and a flat out rejection at worst.
