deep sea shark/tuna fishing

Has anyone here used a good charter lately they would recommend? Me and my dad would like to have a good 12 hour or overnight trip this year and id rather leave out of NJ than long island. Trying to stay in the 1k range.

I use to go out on the Purple Jet all the time. They are great. They have full day trips in your price range , but I do not recall any of the overnights costing less than 2k. We got a group together and split though.

They have some shark/tuna combo daytrips. Those are a blast !

I guess I am really spoiled working on the rig and being able to fish every night. Heads up.... from experience their favorite lure by far is called a boudreaux. Take a piece of broom handle about 10" long and drill a hole down the middle of it length wise. Wrap the darn thing in reflector tape and rig up your leader. It's ghetto as hell, but guranteed it will outfish any lure you can buy. When you are offshore you can't just go to a store and get a new lure, this is good 'ol cajun ingenuity at it's finest
