The info from the State Police clearly states you can carry any firearm YOU own, but not one owned by anyone else. So, yes, you need only qualify with one, instructor's discretion to list others, when I took the class, it was said he wasn't sure about adding one later when I asked about a 4th firearm, I had on order but not received.

My qualification 7/6 from Shooters has three firearms listed, and my application was approved and forwarded to the courts 7/27 by Manchester Twsp. PD.

I shoot there as a member, did the CCW class with Paul a month ago. It really is a pleasure to shoot & shop there. Congratulations on your qualifying.

When traveling out of state I carried a Shield 2.0 and carried an extra mag. Now I have the Shield Plus & just added a Springfield XDS with 9 rounds. With CCW now legal in NJ I will just carry locally without extra mags but take one traveling the state. There are times I have just been out and around with a Ruger LCPII .380 with 7 rounds and a spare.

Has anyone seen or heard anything about the overall number of applications? Just curious... patiently waiting for the judge to get to mine.

Congratulations to those successful today at Shooters! Glad to hear you had a good qual session and all the best in your application process going as smoothly.

I had the three contact reference section filled in while on the computer, printed three copies and had them sign the forms. Then took the copies to the notary for seal & stamp. No questions at all when handing in my application to the local PD. My application is now with the courts.

All the article says is that the NRA has set up various courses that would satisfy 50 states varying requirements and are a GUIDLINE for instructors to choose from. Which ones the individual states require and/or accept would be up to the individual instructor to pick & charge for.

Two types of loaded chamber indicators. One has a small bar like piece raise up when a round is chambered, this is tactile confirmation and more useful in low light situations. The other is a simple hole on the slide top where you can visually check for a loaded round by seeing the brass. Semi's will have one or the other, since that Ruger is optics ready, I'd say it has the latter type.

Was just posted as a FYI,

I just saw a new (to me at least) CCW course offering from We Shoot in Lakewood. The 2022 NRA 50State CCW Qualifying class. This from the NRA's American Rifleman digital site: NRA Launches 50-State NRA CCW Course | An Official Journal Of The NRA (americanrifleman.org)

My home range & I'm usually there Tues. Morning at 9 for the range, sitting on the bench waiting for them to open They may even open a few minutes early for those in the class. No pressure, be calm, do well & best of luck.

It depends on the instructor. I had Paul Whittaker. The COF was 10 rounds at each distance of 5, 7.5 and 10 yards. All two handed, untimed, and from the bench with no holster, silhouette target. Very forgiving format. Short classroom presentation, followed by 5 or 6 shooters to the line at a time. Up to four guns certified, shooting one only. Shooters is a couple hundred feet east of the Tuckerton Parkway exit.

I did Shooter's a couple weeks ago with RLEO Paul and it was nothing like you describe. Calm, orderly very professional. 30 rounds on a FBI-Q target 5, 7.5 and 10 yards(10 at each) Only "reload" command was because of 10 round limit on our mags. With 2 mags you reload one once for the course. Afterwards you fill out the firearm section of the form and Paul reads off the serial numbers and signs off on your certification, makes a copy for his records and you're done.

I guess like the $2 for every P2P.

I was informed yesterday my application has been approved and sent to the court. One week after fingerprints were received by PD. Email requesting $5 to the township in a money order which I'll drop off this morning.
