  1. I don't think a 2A equivalent in a State constitution means a hill of beans. Ask the people of Illinois, see how their 2A is working out for 'em. See section 22: http://www.ilga.gov/commission/lrb/con1.htm
  2. I agree with you on the CCW training. But I think we were discussing training as a requirement to get the basic NJ FID card first. I don't know how you would reconcile that. But then again, it is a requirement in DC.
  3. Driving is a privilege... 2A is a right. Trouble starts when you turn rights into privileges. Then, only the "privileged" have them. Unfortunately, it is not since we can not carry. I am all for reasonable background checks (NOT an FPID) but basic NICs for gun purchases and for required training if you intend to carry. PERIOD! I'm not sure, but I think you do need training as a requirement for a CCW in NJ, along with a sack of cash.
  4. The 2nd amendment didn't mention training requirements. I'm with both of you. I firmly believe in safety training, but how do you make it a requirement to exorcise a right? If we could find an incentive for people to take a class, well, then, maybe......
  5. I'm pretty sure that was Rebecca Peters. Every photo I've seen of her, shows her to be dumpy and frumpy, with a droopy mug on her said sack face. Oooo.....guns. Skawy.
  6. What about the eerie *gun show loophole* section? NJ doesn't have gun shows, yet they still fail us there. What losers. Notably, no where in the "Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence" calculations do actual rates of violence come into play...the only thing they consider is how restrictive the states gun laws are - via VCDL
  7. and that would be an issue for Il residents to take up with their state Supreme Court......which as tlast count was firmly in the Daley/Chicago machine pocket. And as we can see, other States like NY, CT, and RI ignore the State Constitution. So even when there is a RKBA at the State level, it seems to mean nothing.
  8. Illinois has a 2A equivalent in it, and Illinois is like the bastard clone of NJ.
  9. This is kewl. It's been around, but this is sort of updated, and reedited. http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/afric ... .pakistan/
  10. A few years ago, I got the information for a company that casts leads bullets for reloading that was in the Tom's River area. Anybody know who this might be? I lost this info.
  11. for safety instruction, there's http://www.njfirearms.com/ on danforth avenue in jersey city, a stones throw from Caso's along with bayonne pistol range - http://businessfinder.silive.com/223377 ... Bayonne-NJ and the Schuetzen Park Rifle Range (private) in North Bergen http://events.nydailynews.com/north-ber ... etzen-park
  12. That's thoroughly retarded. The synthetic stuff is supposed to be safer than regular black. That's what the some of the folks who run Steel Challenge at Old Bridge told me. I shoot Swiss through my 1911 for Wild Bunch, and asked if I could use it there. They said house rules was black powder/subs only on the black powder range, at certain times of the month. That's why I won't join there. I heard there were restrictions at the club in Hackettstown as well. The places I shoot in PA have only one restriction, it's used only outdoors.
  13. If you decided to try and join a private club, shop around. Some clubs only allow the wholly black to be used on certain ranges, at certain times, from what I've found. -A fellow Darksider.
  14. I think we need to stay on top of what gun bills are introduced, so we know what we'll be in for incase McDonald doesn't go our way. :animals-duckie:
  15. Don't hold your breath. But it's depressing, a real minority of activists can get a boatload of people to push the NJ Legislature to hear marriage equality, and 40 people is the best gun owners can deliver. that is because we all work, if they had that meeting on a Saturday it would be packed.. i'm broadstrokeing here, and i only find that acceptable for a minority of NJ gun owners. take a sick day. if the people who supported the marriage equality bill can do it, so can we. our's is part of the bill of rights, theirs isn't. if the bill of rights isn't worth missing a day of work, then nothing is.

  17. It just means I can't, or shouldn't, drive in NYS. If I get pulled over, and the cop finds out my DL is suspended, I can get arrested, and my car impounded.
  18. This makes me think that we should share letters and have peer review, so that we can all share said letter and blast 'em all to our reps. If the folks behind NJ Equality/Marriage Bill can be organized that way, why can't we?
  19. I recently learned that my driver's license has been suspended in NYS for the past 21 years!! In other words, if I get caught driving in NYS, I'm in the hot seat. Wouldn't NJ catch this with it's background checks for firearms? Cause I know they review NJ DL status for NJ. (I called NYS DMV, told them I was shocked to learn this now, and at no time in the past, when NYS or NYC ran my DL did anybody say boo. They summed it up to flaw in the system. They can't explain how all of a sudden this showed up. Long story short, currently in process in correcting this.) :character-mrt:
  20. Trying to locate Fire Codes/Explosives storage/limit guidelines for storing reloading powder. Can't find anything. Anybody know where I can find this info?
  21. Here's an opinion piece on this event. http://www.northjersey.com/news/opinions/79962982.html seems they want more gun control in NJ.
  22. maybe we can make it a sticky. or add it in the links/2A biz section.
  23. Just heard about this via Oleg Volk (http://olegvolk.livejournal.com). GunPal for an alternative to PayPal https://www.gunpal.net/gp
