    My First AR-15

Very true, but you can't drain something that is already empty
  2. It's normal. Just rub it down with some oil or even WD40 will work. Have you tried to use the iron sights on top of the scope? That might be the deal breaker. Bushnell makes quality scopes but I don't know about their red-dots.

    My First AR-15

Nice, got the same one only a lefty version without the carry handle. Mine came with 1 10 round "C" products magazine.
  4. Second that, 30 round mags and make pistol grip, folding stock AK's legal. I want one real bad.
  5. Chad, for that price I wouldn't be shooting them too much either. I've seen people get shot with them and it's pretty painful.

Wow, excellent set-up, same as me. Streamlight makes a good light.

    Ruger SR9

Not to hijack the thread, but what is your opinion (fit & firing) of the Beretta PX4? When I was choosing handguns it was between the PX4 and the Walther P99. I went with the P99 because it felt better in my hand but the PX4 is, also, extremely comfortable. I really like the Px4. I put a Hogue hand-all grip over mine because I like finger grooves on pistols. The grip frame is a little smaller on the SR9 compared to the Px4. They don't make 15 rounder's for the SR9, I've been looking. But Beretta makes 10, 15, 17, 20 and a +2 extender for the Px4 if your going out of state. Not to boast but I also own an XD 45 tactical and love it. If I had a little extra money I'd be getting an XD 9 SC. XD's are also great pistols.
  8. I was looking at that same Bushnell scope for my AR. Does yours have the deer in the crosshairs symbol on the other side? I kinda don't want being that I'm not going to hunt with it. Also, that scope has the back-up irons on top, can you co-witness with the iron sights you already have? BTW, nice set up.
  9. Where do I get those bean bag rounds? Is the recoil heavier or lighter than with 00Buck shot?
  10. Excellent question! Depends on the weather and what I'm doing. Cold weather or more clothes would be either my SR9 or Px4 9mm. Warmer weather I might drop my Taurus M85 38 special in my pocket.
  11. I was just curious if anyone else uses a shotgun for their home defense firearm. I use my 870 with the AR stock and 2 side saddles with 11 rounds on it so the gun is never loaded (got a baby who is starting to move around FAST!), but is easily loaded in a pinch.
  12. You must be nuts to buy anything at most gunshops right now. I didnt say all, but most. Their prices are way high. I am all for supporting business, but not when they are charging some of the highest prices in the country. I think the 95% of the people who go into the shop without looking around online to make an informed decision make up for the rest of us. I do buy some accessories there though, ie cases, on which prices are not bad. The new firearms I purchased, were orders from local ffl's. The used ones, were in amazing condition via trades with board members, or raiding my brother's safe queens. Sorry bro, but the prices aren't coming down anytime soon. As a matter of fact, there problably going to stay the same until the AWB becomes law again or another law of that nature makes handguns almost illegal. Get'em now while you can, because you never know what's going to happen in the upcoming months.

    Ruger SR9

Not a huge fan of the 92fs, but I do like how the px storm 9mm looks. Ever handle/fire one of those? -Scott I own all three (92FS, Px4, and SR9) and anyone would be an excellent choice. The SR9 is the cheapest of the three so if money is an issue then it's your baby. The only two complaints I have are the ugly 10 round mags and the trigger pull. It's a little mushy and the trigger saftey feels weird. I also own an XD 45 tactical with the same trigger saftey and if feels much better.

Any gunshop have those set ups in New Jersey? I'm looking for the Mariner model.

    Go to gun

Now the question asks which "handgun" so I'll stick with that. My XD 45 tactical. Maybe someone should start a new thread in rifles and shotguns on the same question, no?
  16. Get something new. Why raid your brothers safe, those will always be there. Go to a nice gunshop, grap a few pistols you like, feel'em out, and go home with 2 brandy new roscoe's for your collection. How about that?
  17. Where was it made? Is Rock Island Armory an American company or overseas?
  18. Okay, once my money looks better it would be one of my upgrades (along with a red-dot scope and tactical sling)
  19. Now you gotta burn those other two permits, what a shame. Whatcha gonna buy?

    9mm or 45 acp?

Man, all this talk on 9mm or 45acp is getting crazy! Get a 357sig, 40 S&W or 45GAP.
  21. Is that a drop-in trigger? Or is it more involved and need a gunsmith?
  22. Yea, the 45 long colts had a good kick too, but not as bad as the 3 inch 410 shells.
  23. It's kind of hard to shoot rifles where I live. There is one range in Hudson Co. and they don't allow "large bore" rifles. Maybe out in west or south Jersey it's alot easier due to the open-ness, but not here, too congested.
  24. Love those black rifles! Not to tell you how to put your's together, but the Hogue pistol grip is the way to go. I think mine was 15 bucks and it makes it so much more comfortable. Have fun with her bro!
  25. A good friend of mine just bought a Taurus Judge in stainless with the 3in chamber. What a blast! We were fooling around with bird shot at 5 yards and the whole paper was covered in tiny holes. The sights are great and the grip feels comfortable. It does have a nice little kick to it but for a bedside companion (which she is turned into), it's the best thing going.
