A lot of you on this forum support our military and I'd like to ask you to attend the movie "Lone Survivor" this (opening) weekend. Hollywood has put out a stream of movies (and TV shows) that depict military members in numerous negative ways (Yes, PTSD is real, but c'mon Hollywood!). I have not seen the movie yet (going tonight) but from everything I have heard, read, and seen it is an accurate depiction of what occurred during Operation Red Wing. The "Lone Survivor", author of the book and former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, was an advisor and performed the weapons and tactics training the actors went through. Let's help make this a box office smash and show Hollywood how successful an accurate military movie can be. They can ignore angry letters and protests, but what they care about is profit. So let's help this movie make a profit. And read the book, too. It's not polished prose, but it's real, gripping and a great read. Thanks for your time. http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/universal/lonesurvivor/

I got a .50 cal... bottle opener. And a some other nice stuff.

My wife took the NRA Women on Target class there in September and she liked the range. She's been to Classic Pistol and R14, so she had something to compare it to. It's a bit of a drive (but so is any range for me), but I may need to visit.

This^^^ I pay a ton for the hundreds of useless channels as it is, and they want HOW much more for the "sports" package that gets me the Sportsman's Channel? Screw it, trimming down to over-the-air and Internet only.

55 grain. Thought it was a decent deal. Fiocchi ammo has always been good to me. They also have Fiocchi 115 grain 9mm for $14. Shipping is a little high, but not as bad as some places. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/fiocchi-223-55gr-fmj-20rds-223a.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I have a PF9. No coin needed. Get the Ruger. The PF9's stock trigger is craptastic. I replaced it with this: http://www.northwoodcomp.com which helps a little.

Registration open USPSA Dec7 at Shongum
notmetoo replied to Howard's topic in Competitive & Fun Shoot Discussion
The only match I've shot in five months actually. Don't feel bad about going slow, I wish I'd slowed down. Kept rushing my first several shots. Need to work on acquiring the sights and target after drawing, too. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast... not yesterday for me. Fast is rough, rough is... well, sucky. -

The good news: That was the best match I shot this month. The bad news: That was the worst match I shot this month, or ever. -
George Sochorski (Oakridge Gun Service, inc. in Allentown, NJ) does the work for $25. [email protected] (609) 259-7620 He's done that on two uppers for me. Nice work.

It's a sickness Bob, a sickness...

+1 to the Kim-Pro Tactical magazines. Not one issues with these. I have a couple of Chip McCormicks as well, and they haven't been as reliable as the Kimbers (Dan Wesson CBOB and Para SSP).

I thought this was a pretty good article describing why the current service handgun gets so dissed. I've handled and shot a few of those abused M9s and I can attest to their poor state of disrepair. I now own a U.S. made M9 and love it. Bottom line: "It’s a sad fact that no matter how tough you make a gun, there’s an airman, marine, sailor, and soldier out there who can break it." http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/10/daniel-zimmerman/beretta-m9-gets-respect/?fb_source=pubv1

Agreed. I have a full bred German Shepherd as well and he's no danger to anyone but an intruder (he's my 'condition 0' weapon). When he was 1 y/o we brought in a 10-wk old border collie/mutt and they get along great. Huskys are great dogs, a friend of mine had one and she was a pussycat, so to speak.

For anyone looking for a decent, low cost reflex: http://sport.woot.com/offers/sightmark-ultra-shot-reflex-sight I just ordered one for a low cost build I'm working on. My son has the "zombie" version and it's a really nice sight, holds zero well. Total for one comes to $53.49 (tax & shipping.)

Colin makes some good sense in that video. I agree with everything he's saying, just adding that BOTH us (pro-2A) and the antis turned Starbucks into a poster child for the issue.
-
I've always despised Starbucks coffee. The only time I go there is when Pizza Bob calls in the Mercer County Gun Nuts Association. I believe the Pro-2A hyper-focus on Starbucks' following local laws may have been a factor in this wishy-washy non-banning they are attempting. All that being said...
