  1. You're talking about purchases from an FFL…you could always purchase long guns legally face to face from a private citizen outside the state.
  2. Just curious…why is nobody taking Christie to task for this? She is his AG, so presumably this brief has his tacit approval.
  3. I'm going to offer a little different slant on things. I've been playing for 41 years, have taught guitar, and opened for many well established artists. FOR ME, it is ALL about the neck. Pickups and electronics can be changed ad infiunitim, but the neck carve and scale length are the things that scream "Play Me!" I've had 20+ Les Pauls, God only knows how many Strats and Teles, and at one time had 13 Paul Reed Smith guitars in the collection, not to mention all the other brands that have come and gone. The main thing is to see how comfortable it is in your hand, there's a BIG difference between a 50's vs. 60's neck carve on the different LP models. Good luck on the search!
  4. We could carry until we hit the NJ border. Don't need them in my son's house as he has his FID, and has his firearms. I am more concerned with the trip itself.
  5. Ah, now we remember some of the reasons we couldn't wait to move back to America…so to see our kids and grandkids, we have to be disarmed for a seven hour drive. A high price to pay, but we will pay it.
  6. OK, I read the stickys, but would like some reassurance if possible. My wife and I are previous residents of Nj, and both have our old FOID cards, as well as numerous CCW permits from multiple states (we know they are no good in NJ) Our kids and grandkids are still in NJ, and we reluctantly return to NJ to see them regularly. I called the NJSP today, and the Sgt, told me that transport of unloaded, locked, and cased handguns would be permitted from our house to our sons in NJ without an out-of-state FOID. We just don't want to be disarmed for the whole trip. Anybody have any reason to doubt this? Any help would be appreciated...
  7. IIRC, a gravity knife is one that can be opened by flicking it open with your wrist. If you have to use a thumb stud, Spyderco hole, or release an axis lock to accomplish this, it is not a gravity knife. I had a ZT 560 that I had to return to ZT because the detent was too weak, and allowed me to open it with just a flick of my wrist. As far a NYC is concerned, any blade that can be locked open is illegal according to their AG. This includes box cutters used at work.
  8. So even if we are going directly to our sons house and will keep them there until we drive back to WV, it will be illegal?
  9. My wife and I have moved fro NJ to WV...thank you Lord. My question is this; We have FOID cards from when we lived there. We have numerous concealed carry permits, but of course none make a difference in NJ. When we come up to NJ for Christmas with the kids and the grandkids, what do we need to do? Are we legally OK if we transport our pistols in a locked case with the magazines unloaded and the ammo in a different bag/box?
  10. This sells for $15 plus shipping on the web. $10 PP Gift to a member here with shipping included. Mods, please move if I should not have posted this here, my apologies in advance if so...
  11. We are asking the WRONG question!!!! Once you have a NJ FOID, and pass a NICS, why do we even need a separate permit to purchase a pistol?!?!?!?!?!?!? Why have we allowed the government to become so GINORMOUS? We are putting our NJ house on the market on the 16th, and it will start showing on the 23rd while we are at our home back in America (WV) I have taken many days off to attend the Trenton rallies , (not the last one as I was sick, and I have to watch my days at work) , but the plain and simple truth here is that too many people in this state care too little about the Constitution, or holding government accountable. I am certainly NOT speaking about the majority of the members here, but we need to get back to the more basic question of where do they get the right to impose their will/limit our freedoms to this extent? Sorry for the rant, but I am so outraged by this state's increasing limiting of our liberty while increasing our tax burden, that we are out of here ASAP. Have a good day!
  12. Another way to look at it is the fact that the police seem to have no respect for following this particular law...
