  1. Thats beautiful! Thanks... The bike is a 1940 BMW R12.It has the lowest serial number known to still exist for a matching numbers military machine.
  2. Shooting,WW2 equipment, vehicles, reenacting. Riding and Restoring WW2 BMW Bikes Restoring Stuff like this
  3. I have used Allstate and got the best price for my 2 vehicles and my 3 BMW 1939-40( big $$$) motorcycles .
  4. They are pre WW2,WW2,and some are post war models. They are reworked and were stored away for an emergency in the communist countires.
  5. They are real.. If you have doubt, spend a few nights at Fort Mifflin and you will agree with me. I have seen some sick shit there myself.
  6. It looks like it has the same muzzle cone.I hope they didnt pin the muzzle cone. If they did you are in for a world of trouble. They are not really flash hiders (even in ww2 german manual)either since the holes are covered by the booster cone. The muzzle cone only hold the booster cone to the barrel to recoil it to eject the round, same as the MG34.
  7. Thanks Dude. It was lots and lots of work. I figure that 99% of people have no clue of what it takes to go on a treasure hunt for parts and then restore everything to working condition. There are maybe 500 max. of these bikes left out of 37,600 and about 13,600 had the "rare" military parts. You can find a bike for sale from time to time but you will never find all of the original military parts on one like mine has.
  8. That is Freakin Awesome. I am in envy. Beautiful bike. My dog would love the side car. Jimmy Thanks... it is a never ending project. The bike had a hard life and is matching numbers so it was worth saving to me. It took almost 3 years and many Thousands of $$$ to go from many boxes of parts to a 95% original and correct bike. I am still buying and searching for a few parts to make it 100% correct. I expect to have it to 100% original over the next 2 years which will make it the only Grade 1 (great)(European Bike Restoration Standard) Military R12 in the world. BTW... it will be featured in the next issue of the Vintage BMW Motorcycle Magazine.
  9. My favorite bike I have, My 1940 BMW R12 Military.. one of my 3 wartime BMW Rigs.
  10. Make sure that the muzzle brake is removable because you may need to use a different size booster under the muzzle cone. Keep in mind the threaded barrel rule should not apply as the barrel jacket is threaded not the barrel.
  11. Well you need to keep the flash hider type piece as it holds the booster cone on the gun since it is part of the barrel recoil system. There are no Muzzle Breaks for these. Also keep in mind that the barrel shroud is threaded and not the actual barrel. I have been told that a belt alone is not a high cap mag, but if it is in a drum or ammo can it would be. So it all falls on if a belt is considered a High Cap mag or not. There is no pushing a mag release with a belt fed you need to open the topcover.
  12. The big problem I see is if you run a red in bad weather or if you are pulling a heavy load behind you. I would be pissed if i had to go through since I couldnt stop due to the changing light and get a ticket.
  13. The Romanian and Yugo is the best surplus 8mm out there, both of these ammo types were meant for use in a 8mm mauser bolt action and the Mg34 and Mg42.I have shot plenty of both through a g41,g43,k98,g98/40, and a few others guns with no problem. I have seen field gauge fail on several RC mausers out of the 200 or so I have checked. They butchered these guns beyond belief. One other thing is that steel case ammo can rust out from the inside out. I will not shoot it out of my g43 unless there is no other option.
  14. You probably have a worn chamber or bad headspacing. This is a common problem with mismatched bolt K98s and the Russian capture guns.
  15. I haven't brought a gun from there only parts. They did have a gun that I wanted last visit...but $4k for a mismatched G41W put together is outrageous.
  16. I have dealt with many non NJ people who build guns and this is what has been said almost to the word "The ATF "recommends" that at a minimum you do place a serial number on the completed weapon and you MUST put the builders name, location, and serial number on the weapon if you ever sell it. I always mark my builds, when I build them, because it makes no sense to me not to do so." As for builing one, it would need to be 922r compliant, approved design, closed bolt, and a 16" barrel. If you really want one there are companies that sell semi autos thus they are atf approved.
  17. The question I was trying to clarify was what makes a fake dummy gun a dummy gun. If it's fake, then you can put whatever you want on it.. right? I was answering the original question. As for the dummy guns many are made with solid recievers, plastic, or from zinc. Basically you have 4 types of dummys. The solid reciever type built on a parts kit, early well built steel replicas like the MGC Mp40 or Hudsons replicas, Shoei guns like the FG42,MP44 and plastic guns like the Maurschin MP40 cap gun.
  18. It need a 16" barrel to be legal as well as made outside of NJ.
  19. Its $250 for Rifle, pistol, shotgun or $179 for Pistol and they are offering a $50 gift certificate referral fee for new members.
  20. CAI is century arms international.Century imports and sells to IO. I would check into it, better safe then sorry.
  21. All post 41 or 42 not sure which one, have the ability to take the hood. They are easy to put on with snap ring pliers. Just make sure you are careful when you install because they are easy to send flying. Also make sure that you get a good quality hood, some of them are crappy and are very brittle
  22. I like to restore WW2 vehicles and equipment mainly German stuff. Here is my pride and joy 1940 BMW R12 Military. If the license plate offends anyone I am sorry but it is a piece of history.
