  1. Good deal rot in hell you friggin POS
  2. BBK- that barrel is profiled lightweight the entire length. I was holding it with one hand like a pistol. Also its interesting how they did it. They have a micro gas block under the handguard, then that sight near the end is just that a sight, no gas tube goes into it. They should be on the AIM site in 3 weeks they said. No preorders. Also only available at AIM.
  3. I dont have any really but the guys at AIM posted some on AR15. http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=217&t=203892 AIM were some nice guys. They are releasing an awesome custom built Spikes AR15 upper in a few weeks. Its a 16" dissipator setup but built on a midlegth gas system. Basically they have a micro gas block under the handguard (MOE) with a standard sight post at the end of the barrel. Here it is
  4. or thats the bs legistators in NJ and elsewhere antigun like to say if they allowed CCW. I went to the convention yesterday alone, and today again with my family. Id saw a lot of folks open carrying, and Im sure a lot were CCW. I had a LCP in a pocket holster. Lets see, people held the door for us, guys at Glock gave my 2 year old a ball to play with, people at Voodoo tactical gave my 2 yr old a pair of glasses, Sig gave him a cap, another woman was playing peek a boo with him on the elevator.... Those crazy gunlovers! haha. No one died, no neg discharges, nothing. In fact I gather the crime rate was particularly extra low in the area surrounding the convention center lol. Was a fun time -- loads of awesome stuff. Met Jerry Miculek and saw Gunny there too. I also saw a gentleman God bless him that had lost both legs and an arm. He was wheeling himself around in a wheelchair and his shirt said "Clinging to my guns and religion." Oh a Sig 516 AR piston upper followed me home too - man those guys put nice stuff together! Show special $849... I dont think they are available in mass quanities yet.
  5. In NJ thats a no go. Remember integrity means doing the right thing when no one is looking. Not directed at OP.
  6. Watch it with BB handguns -- I believe they need to be on a handgun permit so if you buy one in PA (which is legal for PA residents) and bring it back to NJ you will have a problem.
  7. SPIKES makes nice stuff. I was in FL last week and went to visit Spikes. They took me and my kid on a tour, met everyone including the man himself. They have some nice stuff coming soon, including slim profile rails, punisher engraved lowers, and some other nice stuff. A+
  8. You need a lawyer ASAP. The PD advised you they DENIED the app. You have a limited time period to appeal that decision.
  9. I dont believe you answered that question correctly -- should have said no marriage counseling is not a shrink talking you off the ledge. That so called Dr you saw was probably a social worker two separate things. Good luck.
  10. I have both: an Inox made in Italy, and a G19. It depends on what you want the gun for. HD, range gun, talking piece, get the 92FS. Safeties and military standard issue. HD tactical course gun, go with the Glock. You wont feel bad when you roll around in gravel with it or it gets all wet/muddy. Also its easier to not have to worry about any external safeties or decockers, etc when doing transitions etc from rifle to pistol. I wouldnt go with a G17 you will be limited to 10 rounds in NJ. if you want a glock get a 19. Either the 92 or glock you wont go wrong.
  11. Good idea Im thinking about it... Ran it today about 150 rounds of Wolf metal case. Had 3 FTE... not bad. Need to break her in a bit more. If I get it flawless running on Wolf then it will feed anything I think.
  12. Bump for update with pics.
  13. Bump for Carbine and Garand pic.
  14. Mission accomplished. Pictures tomorrow. All I can say is it came out really nice and surpassed my expectations. Very well balanced and not too heavy at all. Checkweld on buffer tube is very natural and it handles nice. Hope to get to range on Friday to run it.
  15. In this configuration I dont think it would be ok in NJ. However, if it was reconfigured and didnt have handguards (and fell under the NJ weight limit) it would be ok. Bushmaster makes a NJ compliant AR pistol (made out of composite without handguards) Paul maybe knows better on this one. bushmaster carbon.... wanted one till i figured out i could not have a handgaurd.. then lost interest.. The handguards are nice to have, but many folks Ive seen shoot AR pistols hold the front of the magwell and get a cheek-weld on the buffer tube. So it may still be worthwhile for a range toy. Especially with the 3 foot fireballs.

  17. An interesting tidbit of info. In PA you cannot have a loaded rifle or shotgun in your car even with a license to carry firearms but apparently a SBR or full auto are good to go in the car, or an AR pistol.
  18. Yes you guys are right re. virgin receivers transferred as "other" being able to be used for a pistol build. Few reasons why I didnt go that route. First is the pistol marked lower was $100 out the door at the show. Second was that I had another stripped lower I bought when I was a ward of NJ. I wanted to avoid any potential gray area having moved to PA with it since it was on a COE in NJ and not a pistol permit. Although PA respects your 2nd amendment rights, they do require handguns to be on a registration form when you purchase out here... and you cant do a FTF with handguns they have to be transferred through dealers. So being that I got a good deal on the pistol marked lower and intended on making a HG, I decided to just put it on a handgun form to play it safe. Regarding the weight, Im going to do another build on a composite lower and fluted lightweight barrel... gonna try to get it under 48 ozs (magic number for nj I think).
  19. Hey all, Live in PA now (NJ still at heart). I bought a stripped AR Pistol registered lower at a fun show a few weeks ago and finally got to order the parts for the build. Here's what I ordered: - Spikes pistol marked lower - DSA upper - DEZ Arms 7.5" barrel - Troy Battlerail TRX 7.6" - Troy Claymore muzzle brake - Spike's pistol buffer - Primary arms micro gen 3 -Magpul MIAD grip - Noveske receiver end plate QD sling mount - RRA BCG / CH I received a few of the key parts today so I mocked up the barrel and handguard with muzzle brake. Btw this brake is probably NJ legal is pin welded on... it looks pretty cool too. I always wanted to build an AR pistol in NJ but never got around to it because I wasnt sure what components would be under the weight and I couldnt have handguards on it. Ill post pics as the build progresses. Wonder what she will weigh when all done. Update: Here she is... came out real nice. I hope she shoots as nice as she looks. Going to run it this weekend.
  20. Jim is good to go. Real nice people there, he will order what you want and they have a ton in stock. Bunch of ammo there too. Best to call ahead before you go - he pulls a lot of hours there but its good to check before you go. Ask him about the bears.
  21. Im thinking the wood gives a cool option for AR builds for variety. I dont think Id dress my only ar in wood... but if I had a few... Rock river arms is also making wood now for about $150.
  22. This is not legal advice. My understanding is that as pointed out above, even if your wife chooses to drop the charges the prosecutor will likely continue with the case. In many cases once the complaint is signed against you by the police officer, he/she cannot even drop it and its the prosecutors case at that point. You mentioned county lockup. Is that because you dont have local police? Generally indictable offenses are taken to county, and disorderly person cases are taken to the local police station for processing and release OR. In any event assuming you were charged with simple assault, a conviction of that would mean loss of the right to own guns, and also your ccw. I understand you dont have the money for a lawyer, but you need to find it. Chances are, if you get a lawyer, and your wife goes to your court date and talks to the prosecutor, they will be willing to enter an agreement with you (provided the judge agrees and orders it) that you attend anger management, and also may order joint counselling. You at that point will not enter any plea, and instead the case will be held over to another date pending your completion of anger management classes and then dismiss it at that time. Regarding your guns, and purchasing more, you will not pass a background check now. It will come up and you will get a deny. Best case scenario is an outright dismissal of your case, but that may be unlikely as many prosecutors and judges dont want any woman's blood on their hands God forbid they dismiss and a person winds up getting beat to death later. Imagine the headlines. If you work out a deal with the prosecutor, you can probably avoid a conviction but be damn sure to have an attorney there. You are probably looking at $1000-1500. Once all complete and dismissed (hopefully) you are then looking at an expungement of the arrest (you can do that yourself probably forms are online). Re. your guns, Im surprised they werent taken. Dont be surprised if you get an order from the prosecutors office to surrender them pending the outcome of the case. Also hope that they dont make a motion to revoke your FID and forfeiture of your guns. Even if the assault case is resolved, you may still be subjected to FID revocation and gun forfeiture. Again no one wants blood on their hands, and these gun cases are handled by the county prosecutors office (not the municipal prosecutor) so its a different person. The two actions (assault case and gun forfeiture) are mutually exclusive and even if a person overcomes the assault case (by dismissal) they still can have their gun rights stripped and guns forfeited to the state. Sucks, but you can work through it if youre motivated. Good luck to you and your wife. Again get yourself a lawyer, ask your wife (since she didnt take a RO out on you) to consider talking to the prosecutor to drop charges on the day of your hearing, and for the love of God dont be waiving your hands around in anger it takes one hit/tap to push things from argument to arrest.
