  1. I had posted this in the hunting section but I don’t think it gets much traffic. I’m working on setting up a elk out in CO this fall and plan on bringing my 6.5cm out with me. Anyone here hunt with that caliber? I’m looking at various hunting ammo and not sure where to start. My rifle barrel was cut for the Hornady ELD/ELD-X rounds but I’m reading the ELD-X doesn’t work all that well on elk. Breaks up too easily and doesn’t penetrate. Looking at other rounds such as Nosler Long Range Accubond, Barnes TSX/TTSX, or the Hornady 120 GMX Superformance. Ultimately the will depend on what my rifle likes the best as accuracy will be critical but any opinions are welcome. I would say 400 yards would probably be max distance I would shoot.

  3. Healy is MA. She issued a freaking memo completely redefining the AWB. MA has had their ban in place since 98 and it mirrored the federal ban. In July 2016? She decided to completely reinterpret the laws and banned all sale of AR and AK rifles. No actual law behind her but everyone has fallen to their knees. The fact a court hasn’t knocked this BS down is amazing. I mean, literally 10+ years of federal and state precedent and interpretation and she switched it on a dime
  4. Have a FFL take the SP5 and put a stock on it to make it a rifle. Then pin a fake suppressor to the barrel to get 16". Or there are MP5 clone builders out there that could build you a clone as "other" or an AOW
  5. Careful. He lives in PA, not NJ. That pistol would not be legal in NJ
  6. How long do FFLs keep copies of the 4473? I have a unassembled lower from the other year and wondering if I can call and get a copy of that form to attach to he ATF form 1.
  7. All I know is the black friday stuff sale absolutely ruined Geissele this year. They weren't prepared and many people haven't received or haven't gotten ahold of anyone at the shop about their order. Big thread over on Arfcom about it.
  8. This is awesome. Ever since the non-NFA firearms started rolling out, I wanted to build a 300blk. Problem was, I didnt want a 11.5" barrel on it. Here we go. 8.5" 300blk coming my way. @mikey_golds Care to explain the process?
  9. Looks awesome. I love my P80 as well. Just fits the hand so nicely. I stippled the small area just in front of the slide release lever. Helps give the thumb something to push on
  10. Talk to Jason and he will build you one. Follow him on Instagram and he regularly posts pretty awesome deals
  11. Guys, this is supposed to be a picture thread. This diagram been posted in 3 or 4 threads, multiple times now, where people are trying to nail down the nitty gritty of each build. 10.5” barrel will require a pin and weld unless you find an extended tube over 8.25”.
  12. Yea brand new is gonna be tough to find one without the tube. If you look on the EE at AR15.com, Im sure you could find one tho.
  13. No. Its just a standard 6 position tube- the same one comes with the SBA3 and is the one almost everyone uses on their rifle stocks.
  14. Correct. With an A5 receiver extension, you can use a 11.5” barrel and not pin&weld the muzzle device.
  15. Finished this up the other week but forgot to post pics. I was hoping to get out to the range over the weekend and zero it in but didnt get a chance. Build Specs Lower Aero Precision Lower SOLGW LPK Larue flat-faced MBT BCM Mod 3 grip VLTOR A5 extension, A5H2 buffer, Green Springco spring- with this extension, I can get the same LOP as a traditional stock/extension which is awesome SBA3 brace Upper- Assembled by AndroCorpInd Andro Upper receiver SLR 10.7" Ion Lite handguard BA 11.5" barrel AO Precision nitride BCG SLR Ambi charging handle Magpul VFG A2 Flash Hider Holosun 510c
  16. Ill be posting pics of mine in a couple days when I get a chance but heres my build list. Lower: Aero Precision lower Larue MBT trigger SOLGW lower parts kit VLTOR A5 extension with Springco Green spring & A5H2 buffer BCM Mod 3 grip Upper: Completely assembled by Andro Corps Andro Upper 11.5" BA barrel 10.7" SLR Ion handguard Magpul VFG Radian Charging handle A.O Nitride BCG A2 flash hider - (until I move out and get into the suppressor game....)
  17. A5 tube with a 11.5" barrel will get you just over 26" without any pinning. If you want a 10.5" barrel, you will need to pin
  18. I asked in the thread but the guy never responded. I would love to know just to make sure I dont send any business to them Completely agree about listening to gun store advice on a lot of issues about this and a whole bunch of other gun related laws in this state. That said, there are a few FFLs on this board who I do trust and look to for information. I think most of us know who they are.
  19. I wonder if its the same FFLs pulling this shit https://www.ar15.com/forums/Hometown/Stripped-Other-Firearm-Lower/50-639195/ They are selling lowers marked " Other Firearm" for $200 saying these are the only recievers you can build a non-NFA firearm on
  20. Ill be doing a couple of Joe's ( of Sights & Triggers) pistol, carbine and low light classes as usual. I want to do another long range class since I didnt get a chance to do one last year. My 6.5 has been patiently waiting to be worked again as shooting 200 at Ft Dix is a joke for it haha. Ghost Firearms Training host level 1 and 2 long range classes out in Lewistown, PA where you stretch out to 1000+ yards. My dad will be doing a class up at Sig Academy so Ill probably be joining him for that as well.
  21. It doesnt matter what the shooter can do, its how the weapon was designed to be fired. For example: Pistol braces were designed to be strapped around your forearm to be fired. The fact that you can shoulder them is a by product of the design and not what it was designed to do. The fact that it was designed to not be shouldered is what designates it as a pistol, thus allows you ignore NFA laws and build 9" guns. VFGs arent allowed on AR pistols because it redefines the firearm as a 2 handed weapon, thus not a pistol. Yes, everyone shoots AR pistols with 2 hands anyway because the handguard allows you to put your hand there but in the eyes of the law, a VFG necessitates a 2nd hand on the weapon. Yes all these laws are silly but they are what they are for the moment. If you want to add a folding grip to the weapon, go for it. In all honesty, you probably will never be caught. Just realize that if you do, theres a good chance you arent facing just state laws, but federal laws as well.
  22. Folding is not substantially identical, just like throwing a minimalist type stock is not the same as a brace. That firearm is meant to be fired with 2 hands. You fold the grip up allows it to be fired with 1 hand so its no longer a firearm, its a pistol.
  23. I would be wary of that. Similar to the LAW Tactical Folder for stocks/braces where overall length is measured from shortest 'fireable' position, ie. the stock folded over, a VFG that can be folded up eliminates the need for 2 handed shooting and is considered a pistol by ATF standards and illegal in NJ. Stick to a normal VFG
  24. The buffer tube slides thru the castle nut and end plate so those pieces do not effect overall length.
