  1. we all know what this is really about. it has nothing to do with making a gun 'more concealable' with a collapsible stock, or a bayonet lug, or flash suppressor. its the scumbag government taking freedoms away from us, bit by bit. having a bayonet sure as hell doesnt make a gun more deadly. youre not going to hide an AR so much easier with a sliding stock. and you sure arent going to hide in the dark with a flash suppressor. im sure the deafening cannon-like report of an AR will give you away. its just them taking and taking from us, and once they take, you never get it back.
  2. isnt the 92fs an alloy frame
  3. this thread reminds me of an article i read in some gun rag a few years back. one author was a VERY fat, old guy. the kind of fat that makes it impossible to use a proper isosceles stance. anyway, the magazine asked its regular writers what they personally use as home defense weapons. the said fat guy, who was chomping at the bit to try and sound like an eloquent writer of shakespearean fame, wrote how he had several guns stashed in key areas of his house....in corners, behind couches, all leading to his 'safe room', allowing him to (i quote) 'fight my way out.' i had to laugh.....does he really think he'll get into such a long, drawn-out firefight in HIS OWN HOUSE, to facilitate the need to hide several guns, in anticipation of shooting while running to another cover spot and pick up yet another gun, to perhaps leapfrog by himself to his safe room??
  4. Lucille is a choice of whats under my bed
  5. that makes so much sense. because having a bayonet on your gun makes it that much more deadly. i cant tell you how many times ive heard 'fix bayonets' during a drive by.
  6. has anyone used anything from that site? obviously youre not getting a real aimpoint M4 for $70, but is it worth $70? stuff on that site is extremely cheap......
  7. amazon has plenty of nice, cheap red dots. i got a tasco for i think $30. works just fine, very close to zero right out of the box.
  8. what about mounting any other red dot besides aimpoints. or the new aimpoint M4. or ANYTHING that needs a rail, rather then rings.
  9. unless youre shooting nothing but slugs, why would you need an aimpoint and BUIS on a shotgun anyway?
  10. has anyone tried mounting the magpul BUIS on the gas block, to see if its even possible to use?
  11. neither has my beretta, glock, HK, rugers, smiths, etc etc.....

  13. i have both. either is a good choice. the hogue is of course rubber, so its a different feeling then the stippled plastic of the MIAD. with the MIAD you get different front and backstraps to customize it to your own hand. plus, you get 3 different accessory holders for the storage area. it comes down to personal preference, just like anything else.
  14. thats the point of the bullet button. to necessitate the need of a tool to remove the mag, thereby making it no longer a 'detachable mag'. i know of one company at least that makes AR lowers with an internal mag, limited to 10 rounds, just for calif.
  15. vera's latest incarnation. everything is blocked, pinned, yada......
  16. id rather have an actual pistol grip then that hideous stock/grip thing they have. whats the big deal on a flash hider anyway? is anyone really going to shoot so much at night? youd get more use out of a compensator then a hider. the only reason every other state has the hider is because they can, not because its actually better then a compensator.
  17. i have the magpul MIAD grip, with the biggest backstrap and enhanced guard. fits my hand much better then the stock grip, and better then the rubber hogue i installed years ago. it sounds like all the options you want can easily be done with a bushmaster ORC upper, or a stag 3.
  18. just look around for a brand new, or if possible, a stock used gun. its the same with buying cars. i didnt know much about LS1s when i bought my TA, but i read up on forums and magazines, and learn as i went along. im far more into working on cars then i am guns, but a half hour of reading on forums or just checking websites will teach you the basics of what you need to know. its how it decided to buy the few parts that i have. as far as spare parts, the easiest thing is to go to someplace like bushmasters site, and pick up their parts kits. they have upper kits, lower, spring, detents, spring & detents.....everything you can think of, and very cheap. try buying a basic, stock gun. full length or carbine. basic meaning A2/A3 style, with the handguard upper. shoot it for a while, then if you want, you can change the upper, the stock, grip, forearms, etc. this was a plain bushmaster XM15, also called the 'AK AR', because it had an AK brake on it stock. the aforementioned aggressive YHM brake
  19. look into bushmasters ORC, or optics ready carbine. i emailed them a while back, asking if they can make a NJ legal upper like their ORC. they will, it will sort of be a custom job. i just got a new upper from stag arms, their stag 3 i think its called. i dont think theirs that much of a price saving aspect if you build your own, unless you get used parts. the stag was the cheapest upper i could find, and it was still 400+. add a lower, theres another 200+. then whatever parts you want, plus stock/grip, and youre near the cost of a new factory gun anyway. you can always try one of the bargain bin used guns, if you can get it NJ legal and shipped. then add/customize as you like, when you like.
  20. get a spring/detent kit from anywhere. i got some from bushmaster. not expensive, comes with every single spring, pin, and detent on the gun. you can buy either just springs, just pins, or combo kits of both.
  21. meaning the 50 in general, or that upper
