ive read the same. i find it funny though. my gen 2 has the tight fitting upper/lower and that has the flared forged lower and the vltor MUR upper. The gen 3 is significantly better fit and finish wise but functionally they are the same.

The problem neutering it is two fold. 1. It has a 13.7” barrel and a pinned kx5. So you need to find a comp that is long enough. And 2. It has a 15” rail so you need a comp that is enclosed until at least that point so it doesn’t blow the rail apart. The afghan with a 14.5” barrel and 13.5” rail would be an easier choice. And as for the noveske quality going down hill I found that to be mostly BS. There is a local company to them that made the gen 2 and early gen 3 lowers. SMOS arms. The main quality issues were from tight specs and uppers and lowers not fitting together properly. Mega has been doing their newer stuff (it’s not in house) but I don’t see a difference between the sets. I have a gen 1 , 2 and 3 N4 and have seen a bunch of others. I’d say their quality is still up there. Maybe in the current market their pricing is a little high but that’s a different story

maybe i did miss something. but you do say in the title that "i support a ban" as for your revocable trust, thats fine based on EXISTING law. you mentioned grandfathering if they do pass more restrictive laws. in every bill suggesting grandfathering ive seen in NY for example, they do not allow you to transfer to someone after death.

All Mitsubishi. No natural gas. Oil propane and electric only

2000. i can double the attic insulation. first i have to replace the high hats with sealed units that can be insulated above. i think thats my biggest heat loss now in 3 rooms. doors and windows are not very drafty at all.

Well that’s what I’m looking to do. I just want to check to see if the prices I’m getting are accurate in order to get the right system. $8k a year to heat the house isn’t going to work long term

17 years old. ive replaced a few parts since i bought the house 2 years ago. its one furnace in basement and one in the attic. they really need to get the cost down on those tesla solar tiles down i also got a quote for a mitsubishi air source handler. but even that seemed a little high for 2 units at just under 40k installed. that included some duct work (sealing the downstairs duct and wrapping it and installing a new main duct in the attic)

I have two issues with solar, added cost upfront and I refuse to install until they have something that looks better. Unfortunately my house faces southpaw so it would be mostly the front of the house with the panels.

To put it in perspective I’ve been quoted about 80k for 3700sq ft house built in 2000. I can’t figure out any return on investment based on those numbers even though I’m on propane which is thousands a year. I’ll probably end up with a air to air heat pump and propane supplemental unit for half the price.
