  1. Beat me to it Give me I match I think my gas tanks empty.
  2. Problem is that if you are legitimately on the list, you probably belong arrested and behind bars. And I don't see the guards legally selling a lot of guns.
  3. One more vote for the guilty till proven innocent camp. And there is no way to prove you are innocent. There is a family with an eight year old boy who can't fly because the child is on the watch list. I'm sure the eight year old has a long record of subversive actions. Just because your name is SIMILAR to a person on the "watch" list you would be denied.
  4. I was thinking about going down to Ft Dix to join the range, when it occurred to me that Ft Dix is a government installation (yeah I know Duh). I've worked at other area of the base where I had to go through security checkpoints to get to the area where I was working. Are there any checkpoints you need to go through to get to the range? I guess if you have a range membership card they would give some leeway, but if I just showed up with a couple of guns in my trunk would this cause a problem? Thanks
  5. A lot of indoor ranges don't allow steel cased (Wolf) ammo. Wally mart in PA has Federal .40 for ~$15 for fifty. This ammo has worked very well for me.
  6. Bullet Hole in Belleville also has walk on with hourly rates.
  7. I have a friend from Jefferson who is getting the run around. 4 1/2 months and counting for a change of address. My town has one of each. First clerk is of the why do you need a handgun variety, and usually takes 45 minutes at the desk to get the paperwork straight. Second is of the helpful frame of mind. ie "Make sure that you do these things, (sign here, include money order etc) as it will speed up the process". Same forms take about 10 minutes with this clerk. Needless to say I like dealing with the second clerk a lot better
  8. That would be me That's the place I saw it.
  9. Easy solution Don't let them sit around. Shoot them.
  10. If I understand your question correctly, if the shop doesn't have it they can usually get MOST types in a couple of days. Recently the supply of handgun in stock have been going up as more people are becoming unemployed and cannot afford them. Shore Shot, Cheyenne Mountain and Rahway Firearms Guild have pretty good selections, so you can put your hands on them and see how they feel to you. Your ID is permanent (or at least until you move). Permits to purchase Handguns are good for 90 days, but you can get them extended another 90 days. And remember only 1 in a 30 day period.
  11. Its really amazing how a court selectively interprets a law So this part count 2C:58-3c, that he is thoroughly familiar with the safe handling and use of handguns, and that he has a justifiable need to carry a handgun But this part is total irrelevant? 2C:58-3c that he is thoroughly familiar with the safe handling and use of handguns, and that he has a justifiable need to carry a handgun. If the application is not approved by the chief police officer or the superintendent within 60 days of filing, it shall be deemed to have been approved, unless the applicant agrees to an extension of time in writing.
  12. Not sure on the multiple versions, but the only black on mine is the grip panels and the sights all the rest is matte silver. Purchased <6 months ago if that makes a difference.
  13. Civil lawsuit against the crazed occupant who slaughtered the misunderstood youth is pending.

    Safe Direction?

Question was about a home defense gun. Which (unless you live at the range) cannot be loaded at the range and transported home. As I live in an expanded Cape Cod the only "Safe" place I have is in my basement pointing at the floor. "Safe" is in quotes because a ricohchet off concrete is not a safe thing.
  15. Oh my bad. I thought this was a thread about Lautenberg.
  16. Where does it say this? It says he made phone calls from school. All I can see that he did wrong was to bring the rifle into NYC.
  17. Oh boy is this a sore subject. On my beautiful day off instead of heading to the range, I got to spend 3 frikin hours in line at the Rahway inspection station. Watching them try to work the equipment was like watching a monkey screw a doorknob. After waiting in line it took them 30 minutes to hook up the OBD to get my car to tell them everything is fine. NJ spending at its finest
  18. Masks- Use them if you want. If you spend a lot of time shooting indoors (especially with cast bullets) the mask will keep the lead out of your body which to me is a good thing. Mag loader- Can't see any reason not to use it. I can load a 15 round double stack in a couple of seconds, and then spend my time shooting instead of loading. Yeah I can load the mag without it but why bother?

    Safe Direction?

Rule 1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. When loading your HD gun, what is your safe direction? I think other than intentionally pulling the trigger, the most likely time to have something go wrong when manipulating the gun to load or unload it. In my house the only safe direction i have is aimed at the floor of my basement, and even a richochet off concrete is not really a safe thing. I was thinking of making up a "Safe direction" out off a 5 gallon bucket filled with sand. Any thoughts?
  22. Problem is in corporate contracts, the management WILL NOT agree to a contract they can not afford. In public jobs our "Elected" officials just agree to everything and then raise taxes to pay for it.
