Not sure how the hierarchy works for the CCW permit process. But arent there any chiefs that will grant a CCW permit in this state? If there was just one chief of police in the state of NJ that would grant the permits, wouldn't that be enough to break down the barrier?

I was at Sunset Hill today and the guy next to me handed the range safety officer a 10 spot. Is this a common thing? Does anyone else here tip the Range Officers?

X2 i think that hits it right on the head... i always wondered what would happen in a state like NJ.. if say you were illegally carrying.. and happen to intervene in a situation where you stopped something REALLY bad from happening.. has that ever happened? (I obviously do not advocate illegal carry.. purely hypothetical).. but the situation I am referring to would be something like... "man illegally carrying gun he legally owns stops child abductor" I wonder what happens after a situation like that? I think you would still be screwed here in NJ. They would have to prosecute you and make an example out of you to discourage what they see as "vigilantes".
