  1. I'm sorry but if you take some time to really evaluate your values, you may find that it is thinking like this that got us this police state mentality. It is without a shadow of a doubt, NOT their job to investigate someone what is open carrying a gun. This is not up for debate. It is the LAW in PA. The sooner you get it through your head the better.
  2. The analogy is as follows, You stated that you do whatever the officer tells you to do, then worry about who is right or wrong later. For obvious reasons some people have a problem with this philosophy as it gives police absolute power during the time of the stop. Therefore the analogy is that you suggest a cop can do whatever he wants to you even if you know it is wrong and you have to obey. The idea of a police officer with no legal justification (other then paranoia) imposing their will on you because we ,the sheep who know the law ,must give leeway to the cop who does not, is ridiculous. To answer your question, I expect cops NOT to question people who open carry in philly because the LAW states wey cant. Now if wey did something wrong and in the process of routine questioning, ask for a permit, that is different. I also expect cops to know the law. In this case no one got hurt, but can you imagine the uproar if he was killed and the law stated OC was ok with a permit and the cop had zero cause for shooting other then "I saw a gun and I didn't know that's not illegal". Now as silly and extreme the bendover analogy was, in principle it was pretty accurate.

  4. For those defending teh officer please get all teh facts. OC in Philly is NOT reason enough to be stopped and questioned. PERIOD! Even IF, teh law stated that OC is justifiable reason to question, this cop did not do that, he drew first and asked questions later. Should teh citizen have cooperated more and resolved this in teh courts instead of teh streets? Possibly, but it seems from teh audio teh cop already painted him as teh bad guy and would have still been met with teh same hostility and unprofessionalism from this particular cop. Speculation sure but that's how I call it from teh audio. Bottom line is teh blame must be put somewhere. Either... 1) teh cop knew OC was legal and just wanted to deprive a citizen of his rights (not teh case in this audio) 2) teh cop really believed OC was illegal a) teh cop was trained to believe this. (Departments fault) b) Training to educate teh cop on OC procedures was provided but teh cop did not take it. (Cop's fault) See where I'm going with this? Fact of teh matter is, it is clear as crystal that OC is ok with a permit and it took these cops 45 minutes to clear that up. Ignorance of teh law is no excuse for citizens so it DAMN WELL not be ok for those tasked to follow teh law. In this case ignorance of teh law by teh law enforcer almost deprived a citizen of life. Someone has to pay and we should not wait till a citizen is killed by accident for this type of ignorance to be taken seriously. BTW... nice april fools joke... i thought i was going crazy...
  5. I ran into the same problem. I just ended up buying all the parts and assembling it myself. My BCM is 14.5 middy with pinned battle comp 1.5. The only piece that held me up was a barrel so I just went with a DD 14.5 middy barrel, but everything else is BCM.
  6. Hope that helps the guy who had a sour experience. Shore shot is usually good on making things right. Let us know how it goes!
  7. I have BAD levers on all my ARs. After using it you'll never go back. Just so darned intuitive even the new rifle designs have something similar. That new beretta that is suppose to rival the ACR comes to mind.
  8. I have the magpul sling adapters on my ARs. Simple and effective. Just my two cents
  9. Could have sworn I posted this yesterday, but can't find it anywhere. All stocks and brakes pinned.
  10. awww crap. lost track of time and forgot about the match yesterday. guess my january and february scores will have to do
  11. 1000 9mm fmj remington bullets about $100 shipped from midwayusa titegroup powder - $20 local, no hazmat fee primers - $30 Brass - free I load roughly 4 grains per round to thats about so thats about $0.0114 of powder per round bullet comes out to $0.10 per round primers come out to $0.03 per round add it all up and i get $0.1414 per round which comes out to about $7.07 per box of 50. note: pay for brass...that tickles me... I was at the range the other day. Range officer is sweeping brass and a reloader asks if he can pick some up. The range officer goes to a large bin of brass, pops the top off to reveal a full bin of spent brass and goes "RAID!". Next time ima bring a raisin scoop to the range with me
  12. From my own personal experience here are the only issues I have ever had Noveske 16" midlength recce: zero issues, probably about 1000 rounds (still a baby) LWRC: one jam, I cannot explain what happened. It went click and didnt fire, had to pry the charging handle back with a vengeance to extract the round and the primer was not even dented. less than 1000 rounds. BCM 14.5 midlength: less than 100 rounds, still a baby, but no issues thus far. (I am not cleaning this one to see how long I can go)
  13. I would recommend the BCM upper. I know it is a budget AR but for the money BCM barrels are very good quality at a very affordable price. You can usually skimp on other parts but not the barrel. In this case you can still skimp on the barrel since BCM is very affordable!
  14. Thank you sir for your service. I understand you have had more intimate experiences than most here, but I have to ask. What weapon would you lean towards? I have seen AR's fire fine with little to no cleaning for thousands of rounds. In fact the BCM filthy 14 has gone through 30k+ rounds with basic lubing and wipe downs. There are also many who love the platform who have used it extensively in the field. I am curious though, how many of our soldiers died due to direct weapon failure. If it is as catastrophic and often as you say then why aren't we losing conflicts more often. I am not being argumentative, I am genuinely asking questions. Now I love my AR's but I do clean them every chance I get. Maybe I can designate one to remain uncleaned and see how many rounds it lasts. What issues specifically did you have with them?
  15. i never timed myself but I have gotten to the point where I have no hiccups and just go with the flow.
  16. I got one a few months back and I love it. Here is my assessment on the Pro 1000 Yes it CAN be finicky. But if you do not mind working the kinks out and being more aware (as we all should while reloading). Here are the issues I have encountered Primer feed: keep it clean (compressed air helps), around the last 15 or so primers there isnt enough force pushing on the primers to push the next primer into position for seating. I have just become aware and have some small tool like an allen wrench and manually push them when it comes down to the last few rounds. Yes it can get annoying but not a big deal. Case feed: Make absolutely sure the z-bar is in the inner notch of the case feeder and not the outter one. Having it in the outter notch may cause feeding issues since the feeder may not clear the next case in order for it to drop. A drop of lube on the feeder rail doesnt hurt either. It can be a pain at first but you have to manually position the case feeder at first, but once you have it set up right you dont have to worry about it again. Spent case disposal: This is my biggest gripe. They design the darn thing so the spend primers fall into the abyss that is between your press and the mounting surface, so after a while they will pile up. I have just fashioned a little cup out of paper and fit it into the little funnel area so I can just toss them out when it gets too full. If you are crafty I am sure you can figure something out to address this issue. Again not a big deal. Powder feed system is pretty nice, and very consistent. Maybe not ultra match grade precise but it is definitely consistent enough my random screenings are never off by more than .1 grains. Those are the only things I have noticed about my Pro 1000, YMMV. In summary, I am a tinkerer so any issues I had within reason I just looked into the issue and figured a way to work through it. Now if you want a 100% no issues press then this may not be for you, but for the money and a little TLC, this is a very good press. Then again, what is 100% these days? If you are not the tinkering type or less patient than others, well then you may be irritated. But for the money this is a very good press. I do wish it came with 4 stations but as for the crimp, the Lee 3 set dies have a slight crimp for pistols and thats all I need. I would not bother with the factory crimp die unless I was loading match ammo. For plinking or shootin the ****, the crimp in the seatting die is good enough for me Thats my story and I hope it helps you in making your decision.
  17. let's hope for that case then, it seems like the shortest route at this point. and to be honest, im sure the longer this is prolonged the more tax payer dollars are being used to deprive the tax payers of their rights
  18. so if the judge rules in our favor, then scotus says no thanks...we'll have carry in NJ? (theoretically)
  19. I really liked it. Its no oscar winner but for what it is, it is entertaining and will fill you with a sense of pride and honor for our marines. There are definitely a good amount of OOORAH scenes.
  20. Intent is very difficult to prove when it rests solely in the mind of the person. Fortunately we do not have "thought police". On PURELY principle, if someone were to buy X rifles with the intent to do a group buy and sell off the remaining rifles, that would be illegal, since you are lying on the form that you are the actual owner/purchaser. Again, this is in principle. In practice, unless that person advertised his intent, there is no way to prove it. I buy multiple guns all the time (or used to before one gun a month). Who is to say that if I legally bought a bunch of guns and exercised my rights as a dissatisfied consumer to sell my property in a lawful manner, is somehow illegal? So there are two answers, in theory yes it is illegal. In practice, likely not. This is not advice however to go ahead and do it. I am not a lawyer so this is just my observation. Buying multiple firearms and selling off the ones you don't like or are willing to part with for extra cash is not against the law. Isn't it funny, there are less than a handful of places in NJ where you can actually try out a gun before buying it, yet if we are not happy we have to be careful how many guns we can sell before the state calls us straw purchasers. God I hate this place.
  21. sounds great, my ar's need some air
  22. Sorry to hear about your bad experience and it is appreciated that you try to be objective as you can. You are free to choose and go to whichever you like but why be so quick to conclude your SS days based on the bad experience of one day? Objectively you have been more good experiences than bad and you admit the possibility of this one time being a fluke so why not give them a chance to respond to this and possibly give them another shot? Being residents of this state does not lend the luxury of a long list of range choices so we try to take what we can get within reason. In addition since most of the experiences from a large number of members were mainly positive, maybe you shouldn't be so quick to write them off. I have had a few bad experiences at SS but they don't come close to outweighing all the good ones. Again you are free to do as you wish, but let's see what they say about the incident.
  23. ...DARY!!!! oldschool, yup as soon as i got home i sorted and tumbled my brass "catch of the day" and it was a good catch indeed. I should be good with 9's 40's and the occasional 45. but hoarding 223 is gonna be tougher.
  24. i was there for a while, trigger finger was gettin tired. if you came earlier you woulda seen me christen my BCM build by zeroing the iron sights.
