  1. FYI to all....Just saw this posted on FB: ATTENTION BOB'S LITTLE SPORT SHOP CUSTOMERS! Please schedule your shooting and appointments accordingly... Shooting will resume in our Indoor Pistol Range at 6:30PM Friday, August 1, 2014! Please Note: ANY and ALL Magnum Calibers are Temporarily Restricted from Use in the Range. Thank you for your patience!
  2. Welcome from a Millville guy
  3. The range re-opened in April and it's really nice. We've been there several times since it re-opened. I was surprised to see the notice that it was temporarily closed and wondered what happened.
  4. I just got a notice on FB that the pistol Range at Bob's Little Sport Shop is temporarily closed. Does anyone know why? No reason was given.
  5. Nah.... nice gun to shoot. My wife has a S&W 686 and loves it.
  6. Welcome ! I live in Millville. My wife and I normally shoot at Bob's Little Sport Shop in Glassboro. They had a fire in June and are now rebuilding. I think they're looking at Jan or Feb to have the range open. We recently took a trip to the new Shooters range in Little Egg Harbor City. Not a bad ride and very nice range as well as a very nice store.
  7. I've often purchased before having the permit. As long as you deal with a reputable dealer, it shouldn't be an issue. Most dealers have a required deposit and that may vary.
  8. For what it's worth, I've got a 617 and if I could only keep one gun, the 617 would be it.
  9. I just saw this and find it hard to believe since it's in Kentucky. Supposedly, they've passed a law (although the article only says the Senate passed it) that will require gun owners to install RFID chips in their guns. Here's the article: http://nationalreport.net/weapon-rfid-system-kentucky/
  10. That's the way I did it. Bought the P226 22LR and then the 9MM conversion. Saved a bunch by doing it that way although that was a number of years ago. I've never been sorry about buying that gun. I have others but the Sig is still #1.
  11. Thanks to all. I gotta shoot this thing and see what happens. One shot and check that the slide is 'home'.
  12. Yes. It happens with each round. I tried it again tonight with each round. Didn't try the 7rd magazine though. I'll try that tomorrow.
  13. I have a slight concern with my new Shield. When chambering the first round, from a fresh eight round mag, the slide does not fully return without a little push. It hangs with about 1/8" hanging over the frame. It takes very little to push it forward to fully seat it. I haven't shot it yet, just cleaned it and polished the rails a little. Anyone else have this issue? The slide works smoothly and fully seats without a magaziner. When I do get to shoot it, I'm gonna check the slide before taking the second shot.
  14. Maybe something like this? http://www.sneakypeteholsters.com/ or
  15. I think I would say something like 'Veto the Sweeney bill", then walk real fast to a point further along the parade route and shout it again......keep doing that and he'll think everybody wants him to veto the bill. It would work better if you had a couple of friends to help out
  16. Just saw this announcement. Go get em! NJ GUN GROUPS WARN ASSEMBLY DEMOCRATS ON ILLEGAL VOTE-RIGGING A coalition of Garden State gun owner and sportsmen's groups today served legal notice on Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver, warning that impending action on several gun bills would be invalid and subject to legal challenge as a result of illegal vote-rigging in an Assembly committee earlier this month. Full story here: http://myemail.constantcontact.com/BREAKING--NJ-Gun-Groups-Serve-Legal-Notice-on-Vote--Rigging-.html?soid=1104412490596&aid=9VxHD-SgQLs
  17. They don't want us listening. The delay might have something to this with this from ANJRPC: "NJ GUN GROUPS WARN ASSEMBLY DEMOCRATS ON ILLEGAL VOTE-RIGGING A coalition of Garden State gun owner and sportsmen's groups today served legal notice on Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver, warning that impending action on several gun bills would be invalid and subject to legal challenge as a result of illegal vote-rigging in an Assembly committee earlier this month. 18. Another thought on this.... let's say Pa. dealers know that separate FID's are no longer used in NJ and that NJ Buyers will only have a DL. NJ buyer goes into a Pa. gun shop, and presents his DL to the PA. dealer. What laws will prevail for the dealer to legally sell? Not much chance that they'll have a way to read the encoded data. Suppose the laws are vague and Pa. dealers take the attitude that if they see a NJ DL, it's a good sale. Could this lead to undesirables buying guns and bringing them back to NJ. That might be a little embarrassing for legislators. If legislators found out this was happening it could lead to even uglier laws. I don't know what the laws are like for a NJ buyer in Pa. (or any other state) so I'm kinda fishing for input. Am I 'over thinking' this?
  19. In regard to showing an FID to an online dealer. Would it satisfy most online dealers, if we scan our current FID, keep a copy of the scan on the computer, and send that to the dealer? Would they even know that the old FID's are no longer valid. I know that I'd try it.
  20. I just got my P2P today. 68 days in Millville. It never took any where near that long before.
  21. If I could only keep one, it would be my S&W 617. My Sig 226 is right there beside it, though as a favorite. Well.....I really like my S&W 5906 TSW and ......
  22. I had my car at the Cruise Down Memory Lane in Vineland last night. The place was packed and there were well over a thousand cars and many, many spectators. I was sitting behind my car and nearby, two small boys (8/9 years old) were playing with cap guns. Police officers walked by, a few politicians walked by, people I know to be teachers walked by, and tons of other people. Not a single person....not one... paid any attention to these kids. In their minds...nothing wrong with those kids playing. Harmless stuff. I couldn't help wondering about, how in those circumstances, was it okay for those kids to play with toy guns when we hear so many stories about kids with toy guns. Just thinking 'out loud'.
