  1. Now that is an absolute travesty. Holy Sh*t.
  2. Now it seems to make much more sense, it almost slipped through the cracks until it was noticed due to the questions. But it was never really fully legal in the first place, just that no one initially noticed the M1 markings. Or are you saying the designation was only on the website and not on the gun itself? Edit: After looking on their sight I see the designation, but no close image of the receiver.
  3. Without anything more than second hand rhetoric to back these claims up, I stand by the suspicion that this is some sort of urban legend. If it isn't, I have to believe the lawsuits would have been too numerous to go unnoticed. Not so much on the M1 in NJ of course, but on the others included on your supposed "long list". However since I happen to be a long time member of one the the implied forums frequented by manufactures (M4C) I will ask there and see what comes up. Always looking to learn if I can.
  4. You may be right, but my money is on some sort of initial assessment error made by someone along the line. And if the gun really is so borderline in legality then it certainly seems unfair to belittle anyone for checking it's status in that regard. Also, if what you are saying is correct and can really happen as stated, then how is the Colt MT6400 still legal? There are thousands of them out there in NJ, so there would have been that many more calls. What allowed it to survive under what must have been very similar circumstances? After all, it is an "evil black rifle". Surely they are more loathed by the AG than the smaller, wood stocked M1.
  5. Not to rain on your parade, but I have to agree with the others. There is little comparison between a .22 and a 5.56 beyond bullet diameter. You must shoot the real thing to really feel it, but you can just use that as further incentive. And as far as your patterns at 25 yards or less...well, even with a .22....
  6. Seriously? How old are you, bro? I guess you never saw the Chapelle show? Then you don't get it. At 41 I remember the man, but don't think I ever saw the show. Obviously that's not really the point. I know this isn't your thread, I just believe that one such as this detracts from the entire forum. There is a time and a place for everything, and this really shouldn't be it for that. If we want to be taken seriously and also encourage new, knowledgeable members to join and remain here, stuff like this ain't going to help get it done. I absolutely assure you or anyone else paying attention. It also doesn't mean GD isn't a place to have fun and I'm not trying to come off as some sort of nanny. I posted many a funny thread in my other forum over the years and even one or two here if I recall, but there should be standards. Again, just the $0.02 from someone who has been around a bit. Take from it what you will.
  7. I don't think I could agree with you more. Without further proof of this supposed chain of events, I suspect several comments in this thread are going to be the butt of someones joke at the state level. Almost can't believe what I am reading in a serious firearms forum. However if there is proof of this, time still allows for disclosure.
  8. So I must assume that what you are saying is that somehow the stated version of the weapon slipped through the legal cracks and has since been exposed, correct? Even if so, the configuration either is or isn't NJ legal. Whether the violation is a lug or the engravings on the receiver, I just don't get all the confusion. Guess I need to spend more time on the local issues like I used to.
  9. You give WAY too much credit to people Wolfy. This is EXACTLY the same kind of thing that killed CMP Sales. people calling and playing "Mother May I" instead of just trusting the damed FFL's in this case, and CMP's DECADES of shipping to NJ in that case. Fascinating. But how could a phone call to verify a gun's legality change or jeopardize it's legality? Or am I missing something overt here?
  10. You mean those good intentioned folks who made it a felony to have AR-15 written on your AR-15? Can you please clarify these events?
  11. I am sure he will quickly see that it conforms and steadfastly agree with the fair minded Lieutenant. Should be no problem. :? Considering SHE is the one who stopped CMP Direct sales to NJ residents...what do YOU think?????? I have already been corrected on the gender error, but thank-you. And of course I hope you realize that my comment was pure sarcasm.

  14. I like that one. I have a smaller 16 gun (not in a million years) Stack-On that I got from Dicks back in '05 that I am happy with overall, though the keypad is prone to issues. Wish I had gone with the combination, but other than that and the inflated capacity, it was a good buy.
  15. I'm surprised that many here find that slop so entertaining. Personally, I'm rather thankful we don't have to see that crap pop out of nowhere on the TV in this country. Just my $0.02, no need for anyone to be offended.
  16. Ray Ray is correct, though it usually holds at 20,000 for semi autos.
  17. Why does he need to "grow a pair"? What do you actually think you will accomplish with such an idiotic threat to that even more idiotic woman? I mean really, to blatantly imply that "I know where you live and will..." does nobody here any good whatsoever. Plus it reeks of immature short-sightedness. Take the time to write a well spoken, articulate letter to her directly. May not change her viewpoint, but it will show that we are intelligent people who are not going away anytime soon.

    AR Bolts

Well, you may be right. I was a regular there for a couple years until an unpleasant incident with another member and that was that. However a friend I knew from there told me about M4C in '07 and I have never looked back.

    AR Bolts

If you haven't already made your purchase, get the BCM bolt carrier group. As stated, they are MPI inspected and currently the best going. Also consider one of their strengthened charging handles, especially if you plan on training with the gun. You will likely find this thread to be a good one for the stated purposes. This forum is where I spend most of my time due to the wealth of first hand information. I would humbly also suggest avoiding AR15.com completely these days, except for maybe the hometown forum. http://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=55930
  20. This is a gray area to most of us. Since you are likely in a position to do so, might you choose to enlighten us a bit? Only asking because I have wondered what the most "practical" response would be if I were ever questioned while wearing a small knife primarily (though not solely due to utility potential) to defend myself or others.
  21. Yes Sir...unless your guested in. $400 one time fee +$245 for the annual. Definetly worth it if you live up that way. I was guested in on my last carbine sale and the place is "Very Nice"... 24hr indoor, outdoor, pistol, rifle, skeet, trap, archery and most of all 25 upto 300 yrds. Wow, $645 just to get started. This compared with Ft Dix's $60 annual and $3 per session seems a bit...high. No indoor facilities at Dix, but still. However I suppose if you get your money's worth then that's all that matters.

    92fs vs 90 two

Your not kidding. As far as my preference, well that may speak for itself since I just bought a new .40 90 Two. This while having owned a 92 years ago, which I also liked a great deal. Just like the new design as well as feel of the 90-Two, and I wanted the new buffer since it's a .40 in order to avoid the pitfalls of the 96.
  23. I fully understand where you are coming from and I have heard other's who also feel the same way about their 1911's. I used to have a 1911 Colt myself years ago which I loved to shoot. While many balk at the size and ergos, I always found mine to be a natural pointer and I also shot well with it. My humble point, which perhaps I described poorly, was that in conjunction with an individuals comfort and ability shoot a certain pistol (or any firearm), there are still other factors that influence a weapons true accuracy.
  24. Now that's a new one for us highly restricted NJ residents. Looks great no doubt, but I just wonder about a Yugo's durability as well as how they would be about servicing it if need be.
