  1. You might guess that I want to buy a Benjamin Trail NP XL. And the recent above opinions conflict. So I discovered the NJSP Firearns Investigation Unit and called them. I spoke directly to a Trooper and he cleared the rifle for use in NJ. He said the barrel shround was related to balance/weight/bull barrel and not to sound suppression. So I noted his name/time and date/etc. and crossed my fingers. LOL. People will tell you --- do not get a legal opinion from a LEO. Get it from a lawyer. So I ignored that. The Trooper gave me the unbiased answer that I wanted.
  2. I know this is not about hunting. So you probably don't care. Read the NJ Fish & Wildlife Digest. YOU MUST use 22LR HP for certain small game. Or you are breaking the law. So the state mandates you use some HP. Normal confusion for NJ. Just tell the cops (at 11PM Sat night) that you were out hunting!!
  3. A Benjamin Trail XL has a barrel shroud. So in your humble opinions is that a form of silencer that NJSP will frown upon??
  4. You need a stove 'insert' made specially for your situation. Get out your wallet - pretty expensive. Check local code or ask store people. Probably will need a pipe from stove to chimney top with a cap. These work real good. You will be sitting in your undies whilst enjoying wood burning.
  5. Check the voluminous news videos out of Cairo. It's an AK fest. Sorry, they are not variants. Just like Syria, Lebanon, name a country in Africa and more. I wonder how many were paid for by your taxes. I am not funning the people or their situation. Would not wish it on anyone. I would not be fond of walking around Trenton with an AK in two handed carry. That is all.
  6. Air rifles, eg., Gammo Whisper can be a mess. Strong opinions have been given on this forum that: it is fine to use OR it is illegal. At one time Dicks sold this model in NJ. I would stay away from anything with a 'fattened' barrell of any length that even hints of sound suppression. Question: is a scope ok for pellet rifle? You never know in NJ.
  7. Please allow me to be very rude. You are nuts Jack. No mental health?? That aint up to you. It's up to your ahole doctor and out of your control. No secret list?? That aint up to you either. You cannot find out what list you are or are not on. Wake up Jack. If and when you find out what list you are on, they will charge you with knowing a secret gov. secret. The gov. is out of control and the people are idiots. Thank you for listening.
  8. The NJ websites says you must get your shotgun 'permit' before your rifle 'permit'. It was not clear about how to get the one and then the other in some sort of sequence. It appeared to me that you can actually just roll it up and get both at the same time by doing the appropriate workbook sections and then attending the live test. So I be confused. Anyone??
  9. Went to Get Loaded in Bristol. Really nice people. Very, very small but the kind of shop where you call first for stock and then go/no go. Then to Locks in north PHL. Pretty close to Cheyenne in size and stuff. Guys walking around with piece on the hip. Friendly service. It felt like the American side of the Delaware river. There are also some nice small shops up near Allentown - Hot Shots, Golden Trigger, ??? Lady. My point - no commie tactics like name/rank/serial number just to buy stuff. Sorry NJ shops, you are stuck in a stupid situation which I am able and happy to avoid.
  10. Speaking of dots I bought a HIViz FO front sight post for my Saiga. It improves my iron sight shooting about 1000%. Yah it was pretty bad to start.
  11. The Syrian rebels are on our side?? What is our side? AK's to all Syrian rebels, citizens, visitors, Al Kada, soldiers and more. LOL. What is a Syrian rebel?
  12. Just a thought. Who you gonna vote for? Hitler and Stalin are running. I can't vote for the 3rd party guy. I like his platform but nobody knows him. Must be a popularity contest. Yah that's it. We have a choice. Kill all the Jews or kill the Poles and Ukranians. Maybe vote for nobody. If this makes no sense to you then just vote for Hitler and say "I voted" cause I am a good citizen.
  13. NJKen -- the old primers pretty much looked perfect. I thought I had a conservative load, not hot. But maybe it was hotter than the S&B factory load. Another general question - as I cut brass with the uniformer from the pocket bottom, does this weaken the shell pocket and reduce the number of possible reloads? Another angle - how many uniformer passes can you reasonably/safely do?
  14. Thanks guys. I found with just a little research that this is a well known problem. Another dude with the same problem was using the same brand brass, S&B. Who woulda thunk? Looks like I am buying a 'uniformer'.
  15. I made 60 762x39 cartridges from once fired brass. Took them to the range and no problems at all. The primers on these were seated ~001 to 005 depth. So now for twice fired. The same primers (Federal large rifle) in the same cases will not fully seat. They are ~001 to 006 high in the pocket. Pockets were cleaned. If I apply more force they will be crushed. I made three cartridges with no powder and tested them from a mag, cycling with bolt handle. There were no slam fired primers. Any experience with this? Did the prime pocket distort or something? This makes case trimming measurements a real mess. These are not crimped but maybe I needed to ream the pocket anyway?? Thanks in advance.
  16. Holysmokes. $65 for a belt. Either my pants fall down or I visit the Columbus Farmers Market. LOL.
  17. I thought I would check in since there is still some activity here. I actually did take (some of) your advice!! I now have the RS side mount and this is corny but it is state of the (mechanical) art. It's not micro anything but also not really klunky like most others. Red dot is 30mm Vortex Strikefire. Yes I cheaped out on Aimpoint. Also didn't see many less expensive micro clones to choose. Maybe in the future? Vortex is a little large but no big deal. Has a 2x magnifier included and 1st class warranty (so they say ). Anyway the co-witness is at the bottom of the circle but pretty darn good and usable if needed, like dead battery or??. The Ultimak looked real good but the side rail was already there and calling me. LOL. That is all.
  18. It will not launch. Maybe I have a cheap LG phone? Anybody actually use it?
  19. Yah, agreed. I may have to try it and mark: post office, farmers market, local Acme, shopping center, lots of neighbors, gas station, STS, pizza place, chinese restaurant, ice cream shop, Duncan Donuts, WAWA and a few hundred more. How stupid can they get???????????????????????????????????
  20. Devils need to trade the Master Brilliant One, Mr. Lou Lamarillochuk. Period. That's it.
  21. Yes and don't forget Twitter, Facebook and more.
  22. So they they burn down part of Sanford, LA Camden, St. Louis, etc. Who cares? Is the jury worried about this? Hope not.
  23. Any suggestions? 1-2 MOA Dot. Maybe $350 price. AK side mount scope rail. Aimpoint Pro?? Lucid HD7?? I did my homework and read a bunch in the Optics section but wanted to ask AK users directly. As usual sorry if this this is old stuff posted elsewhere!!

Anybody that drinks Coors, Bud, Miller and anything light should be banned from posting on this topic. All water tastes the same. LOL.
