  1. This has the thumb safety. Nice gun but I have a hard time with small things and my fat fingers.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions on the “compact” 9mm. It seems I have misused the term. I mean something in the size of the Ruger LC9 or smaller. I guess the term “pocket” might me more appropriate. My short list is the sig 290, PPS, PM9 and I still have not held the Kel-Tek PF9. I will not buy a Taurus again.
  3. Thanks for all the great ideas. I m going to head to a few gun stores today to get a better look at some of the pistols that might fit me.
  4. I tried the Kimber but did not like the manual thumb safety. The Glock 26 was what I started with but found it and the Sig P239, M&P and the XD too big. The 1911 compacts also are a little big as well.
  5. I am looking at small 9mm for concealed carry in America. I looked at the Rugar LC9 but I don’t like the small safety as I don’t think I could work it when someone is attacking me. I also looked at the Sig P290 but I could not work the trigger without shifting my grip. I am now looking at the Kel-Tek PF-9 Link - PF-9 and the Kahr PM9 Link - PM9. I have not found any place that rents them and I am looking for a gun shop that has them in stock so I can at least hold them. What are your opinions? Are there other compact 9mm in this size range I should also look at? Thanks Tommy T
  6. My mistake on the extra fee. When I was given the forms there was only 2 forms and the instruction sheet said that I needed $18 and $2 per permit. When I read about the 212A form I thought there was another fee on top of the $18.
  7. On Monday my wife and I submitted our paperwork for pistol permits. 2 permits each. When we went to the police station the dispatcher told us that we need to email a Lieutenant to submit the forms. I email him at 3:00 by 5:30 had a reply that anytime after 6:30 that night. My wife and I went at 7:30 and he was not there but the other officers went out of their way to help. One got on the phone, another checked that we filled everything out correctly and witnessed the signing of the mental health check form. They took the forms and said that they would give it to him when he got back. About 1 hour latter I got a call at home from the Lieutenant and he said that there is another form we have to fill out. Now I’m thinking that this is going to be a problem with an additional Illegal form. He said that since we had our FPID card that we did not need to be finger printed so this form was for the police chief to do the background search with the state police. He apologized for missing us several times and offered to come to our house with the forms so we did not have to make the trip again. I told him we would just stop by the next day and sign them. The form was 212A. I found this posted on the fourms so I think the form is ok. “g) An applicant for a handgun purchase permit who possesses a valid firearms purchaser identification card, or who has previously obtained a handgun purchase permit from the same licensing authority for which he or she was previously fingerprinted, and who provides an additional valid identification document of his or her identity, need not be fingerprinted again. In such cases, the chief of police or Superintendent shall otherwise fully investigate the applicant in accordance with this subchapter. The chief of police or Superintendent shall require the applicant to complete the New Jersey State Police, State Bureau of Identification (SBI) "Request For Criminal HistoryRecord Information For Non Criminal Justice Purpose" form, and pay the appropriate fee established by N.J.A.C. 13:59. Applicants unable to provide an additional valid identification document shall submit to fingerprinting.” They did not charge us any additional fee. They did not give us a problem with the number of permits. He did not say how long it would take. I will update when we get the permits.
  8. is there a code or did I miss the sale. I get 109 + 16.99 shipping
  9. I have had my 6" GP100 for 20 years now. Great gun. Enjoy
  10. I am conflicted about the laser sights. On one hand I hate to rely upon any technology as with my luck the batteries will go bad, the sight will break or I will get some other malfunction just as I need it. I do see how it can be very useful if I'm in an awkward position and could not align my sights.
  11. I don’t have many people think it strange how many guns I own as I only have 7. Ammo is another story. 17,000+ rounds makes them ask why so much. Answer “Well the zombies aren’t going to kill themselves”
  12. Please dont watch this video. What a waste of 1 hour. To sum it up Hyperinflation - buy gold.
  13. I have two LTR’s both 10/22’s one with the 200 and one with the 100 but I have not sighted them in yet. So I can’t say for sure. But I can bring both to the range if you want to try them out. I shoot at Cherry Ridge.
  14. I am looking for NRA shooting clubs. I am interested in the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification courses of fire and starting to enter some competitions. I searched the NRA web site for clubs near me and tried to contact them but have not heard back from any yet. Does anyone belong to or know anything about these clubs? Hawthorne Gun Club Mountain Competition Pistol Club Timberline Outdoorsman Club Hillsdale Targeteers Or any others? Thanks

  16. +1 for MidwestPX. All three orders I placed shipped FAST!
  17. Thanks but I will be leaving from work, if I can get out on time.
  18. My wife and I attended Gun for Hire First Steps pistol and rifle course. This was a private course that combined both pistol and rifle into one class/range session. We took this class at Cherry Ridge range. Jimmy the instructor was great. I would definitely use gun for hire again and would recommend them to anybody without hesitation.
