Just got my new Garand from the Garand Guy and will be shooting it this weekend. I would like to know how to break in the barrel. Any tips from Garand Owners?

Anyone know of a Smith who can do a accurizing job on my Garand? Trigger job, Bedding barrel ect...

Its sad! But I have a 6 year old and live very close to NYC so all her friends Moms and Dads are super anti gun. We dont bring up the guns in conversation and when I go to the range or have gun cases I tell her I am doing archery. Because I have taken her to shoot bow and arrow a number of times with me she tell her friends she and I like Archery. I guess when she is old enough to know that her friends Mom and Dad wont let them come over because I am a " crazy gun owner" than I will bring her into the fold. I want her to have a happy good time as a 6 year old If that means I need to bit my lip every time I am around her friends A$$hole parents I will..

I have always kept 500 to 1000 rounds of any round I shoot a lot of and thats about it. I know some guys and gals like to keep a bunch more for shooting games and other things. But why are the pleasure shooters and very minimal shooters hording all the ammo? Is it for profit? For fear of an ammo Ban? I would like to know your reasoning for trying to buy every box off the shelf you can get? I have no problem with free market prices. Just curious. Just my opinion on the matter; How to stop the shortage! Stop buying more than you need. Don't over pay aftermarket price unless you have no option and are out. If everyone in the country did this we would be back to the norm in a few months. All the the people buying just to sell at a profit would slow down and go away. This is not a attack on anyone person or an other just my opinion! Also would just like to get a feel for Why this is going on and other points of view.

I am just getting into them and haven't even fired one yet! Just been taking it apart and putting it back together to get a feel for the system. Will be going to WV next Friday for some 200-300 yard shooting with this and my K31 cant hardly wait!!!

I just picked up a Garand from the Garand guy. I have the Smiths N/M sights on it and wonder if there is a good starting point for elevation? how many clicks? I know the N/M sights are 1/2 inch per click and the USGI are 1 inch per click. thanks for any help! I don't want to put 50rds down range to figure it out so thought I would ask.

I just got mine in from samco at my ffl. It was supposed to have a crack in the stock but looks great and no cracks. I cant wait to get her home and cleaned up for the range!!! I was also thinking of reloading Rifle ammo. What is a good starter list of things? With once fired brass and new if I can get it.
