  1. So I took a look at the Dicks Sporting Goods black friday ad scan and a few things POSSIBLY interest me to take a stop by and attempt to purchase. I see that they have a mossberg 715 for $99, could be a misprint because from what I can tell the mossberg 715 is a AR taticool rimfire rifle. I'm guessing the mossberg rifle actually on sale for $99 is the model 702. Additionally they are giving $20 off rifle normally priced over $150, which makes me look at the marlin 795, which the Dicks employee "believes" (unbelievable lack of help from this in-store employee) is $169 normally. I've had my eyes on a marlin 795 for some time, missed my opportunity to grab one back when they had the $25 rebate a few years back Also they have a ruger 10/22 for $200 with an included extra mag. If I did go with the marlin 795 and purchased an additional mag thats like another $25 bringing the total cost to $175 which only leaves a $25 difference between the marlin 795 and the ruger 10/22. From all reports that I've read the ruger 10/22 is a great rifle but the marlin 795 tends to be more accurate out of the box. Additionally I understand the ruger 10/22 is the more established & customizable rifle with lots of aftermarket accesories but I don't do much with me rifles other than putting optics on them & buying mags. I am not going to wait in-line outside before the store actually opens, if I do go it will be later Thanksgiving night or sometime Friday so I am expecting the "black friday sale items" to be gone before I arrive. So with all that being said, out of the mossberg 702, marlin 795 & ruger 10/22, which rimfire rifle would everyone recommend?
  2. Well thank you everyone for the replies. Believe me I understand that local gun shops need to make a profit and I do realize that I cant expect a gun store to price match buds. As I did say this was the first time I stepped inside a NJ local gun shop to take a look around and I really just wanted an opinion on how others felt on that $800 price of the MP 15 sport. Was I being fed to the wolfs or was that price reasonable for nj?? Are there better deals around etc... And I wasn't just doing a feel her up locally and then buy online. After reading this thread what keeps popping up in my mind as a similar situation is car shopping. Everyone wants to get the best deal right. Noone goes to the closest dealership and pays sticker price without shopping around right??? Maybe you don't even buy the car at the dealership where you took it for a test drive. Maybe you even look online to see what other people have paid for a similar model just to see if your getting ripped or getting a reasonable deal. Maybe you even buy the car out of state if you can get a better deal. Should we son' bitch them too for not supporting their local dealership?
  3. So sometime I drive by this gun shop near work and I decided i'd stop in today and check them out. I was curious to see what their price was on a S&W MP-15 sport (nj neutered of course) and was a bit shock/horrified when I saw the price tag at $800. I can order this rifle from buds for ~$630 shipped and ffl/nics xfer for $50 so like $680 without tax (idk if there even is any tax on the rifle). Id like to support local shops but damn thats a $120 difference... This is also my first time browsing a NJ gun shop so im not sure if I just bend over and accept that type of price markup as the norm?? Just curious, in your opinion what is acceptable NJ gun shop price markups?

    First Shotgun

Also take a look at the H&R/NEF pardner pump on sale for the same price as the maverick 88. I was in the same situation a few years ago wanting a reliable no-frills pump shotgun but didn't have that much $$ to spend. I settled on the H&R/NEF pardner pump which is from my understanding a remmington 870 clone. I probably only put about 300 shells through it so far but it goes bang everytime. To me it feels like it's built like a rock, very sturdy. I guess try to handle each of the shotguns before you make a decision to purchase.
  5. Dang. I guess trying wouldn't hurt but I really don't want to do another change of address because they already have too much of my money from 1x FPID card
  6. No, different municiplaties but same county
  7. Hey everyone I have a question regarding my FPID. I originally got my FPID at address A and then moved to address B and did a change of address and got a FPID that reflects address B. Now I moved back to address A and still have my original address A FPID. Would it be ok to use my original address A FPID now?
  8. thanks for the link, posted it on my facebook page aswell. How many time a day shall I fill this out?
  9. I agree. All these politicians & nonsense awb/anti-gun supporters should be sent to go do the confiscations and we'll see how long this "law" lasts
  10. I have the GXP model as well and I love it. So far I've only shot winchester bulk and cci blazer bulk, cci has been more accurate.
  11. thanks for the info everyone, I'm just looking to get 1 for now since I just had to drop a few paychecks on my car and don't have the funds for more I just hope I can get one before inflation hits TOO hard.
  12. signed and shared on fb edit: gotta say having to create an account just to sign the petition is going to deter a lot away
  13. njJoniGuy, yes I have heard of SJSC and it looks nice. gimmemym1, I'd like to rejoin USANA, I left a message with them about a week ago asking about membership and haven't received a response yet so idk
  14. I am waiting for del-ton to stock their rifle kits which contain the assembled upper and lpk. As far as I know they've been out of stock for a good ~2/3 months I just hope they get some in soon otherwise I might have to get myself something else to hold me over
  15. hmm I had a ar15 stripped lower transferred to me at around 3pm yesterday 11/9, no NICS hang/hold ups (first time for me in NJ)
  16. Anyone a member of Hutton Hill Rifle & Revolver Club in Winslow? If so how is it? I am just doing some researching my available options are for shooting ranges. I used to be a member of USANA a few years ago and would like to rejoin there but I dunno what the deal is and if they will be allowed to stay there much longer.
  17. thanks guys, this is gonna be my first semi auto firearm I can't wait lol
  18. Hey guys I am planning on assembling my first ar15. I am planning to go with a m16 style look so fullsize A2 stock, 20" barrel. I went with a lower from del-ton because I am also planning to purchase the rest of the parts from them as well and I wanted to keep all the parts from the same manufacturer. Apparently del-ton is a great value for your $ and that is really what I look for. Anyway below is a pic of the lower, I got it transferred through Jim of Whittaker Arms in Hammonton NJ. He's a great guy and is very knowledgeable about firearms but best of all only charges $40 (NICS included) for ffl transfers.
  19. wow thanks for the replies, arms-n-ammo prices look good and isn't very far from me Gonna have to wait a bit to purchase though. Just curious what caliber would you all recommend? I have finally decided to treat myself to some new firearms after 2 years and have since purchased a stripped ar15 lower receiver in 5.56 with the intentions of building ar15 myself. So what do you think is best, get the saiga in traditional 7.62x39 or 5.56 and share 1 caliber between the rifles? EDIT I see that the saiga is listed a chambered in 223, so it would not be safe to fire 5.56 rounds correct? lunker, that is one nice looking saiga conversion sir and I appreciate the offer but I would really like to do the conversion work myself
  20. I am planning on purchasing a saiga in 7.62x39 and eventually converting it to resemble an ak type rifle. I see budsgunshop.com had them for $350 but are currently out of stock so I was just wondering where can I find the best deal on them? I am willing to buy local as long as the price is reasonable and its not to far from the Williamstown NJ area.
  21. just curious, what does everyone use on their ar15's since they like wet lubes and Eezox is a dry lube?

    FFL FEES

guys if anyone is near Monroe township I just found a pretty sweet FFL rate. I found his info on gunbrokers find FFL and it says $30 + NICS but I just called him yesterday and he said $25 + NICS. Either is a good deal since most want to charge nearly double that for a transfer. Here's his info, he is a very nice guy and runs his business out of his house, so he is by appointment only. James Whittaker Whittaker Arms 720 9th Street Hammonton, NJ 08037 Phone: 609-432-2367
