  1. I was born and raised in PR, and I know this process firsthand. In 1991 my wife and I were carjacked, and even though the perps were arrested and we went to trial, they were let off with a suspended sentence. We ended up having to move because we were afraid of retaliation and I began researching what I needed to do get a legal firearm and a carry permit there. After consulting with attorneys, we decided it was not worth the aggravation and expense, and shortly thereafter we decided to leave the island and move to the "mainland". While I applaud the court's decision, in recognizing the fundamental 2a right and overturning the Court of First Instance's denial, this decision really does nothing to change the current laws on the books and the processes around being able to legally obtain a firearm. They are just as bad or worse than NJ's. The PR Firearms Act is actually very similar to NJ's law, where you must go before a court to prove your "worthiness" to get a carry permit. It's a long drawn out process that was set up by lawyers and benefits the lawyers (a la NYC). What needs to be done now in PR is to use this precedent to present a lawsuit similar to what the 2AF is doing here in NJ, to challenge the constitutionality of the law itself.
  2. Crap! I thought you were going next week...I gotta drive out to JFK to pick up the wife...
  3. Yep, and since permits expire in 90 days, that basically limits you to three guns in a 3 month period unless you apply for an additional 90 days, then you could get 6 permits, use the first 3, apply for the extension for the other three and get 6 guns in 6 months....of course...add the 3 months it takes to get the permits in the first place and your looking at almost a year to get 6 handguns.... Don't you just LOOOOVE New Jersey???
  4. Congrats! ...and you're welcome! LOL!
  5. Proper mooslim burial? WTF? They should have wrapped him in bacon and then given him to Uncle Ted in Texas to use as bait in a wild boar hunt...

  7. Yes, I did. Photography is another hobby that I'm getting into. I used a Nikon D60 Digital SLR with an 18-55 mm zoom lens and a Speedlight 400 flash, then I cleaned it up a bit using GIMP (poor man's Photoshop).
  8. Just got this one to replace the one I sold a while back.
  9. Yes, Frank was very helpful. I shopped around at several other local places, and Frank gave me the better price....and he's like right down the road from where I'm at, so you can't beat that. I really liked the Inox, but it had the same problem that the Sig had...more $$ than what I wanted to spend. Got the basic 92FS "Italy" model. Frank kept joking that if I bought the italian-made model I was supposed to get a free 5-gallon can of olive oil..LOL!. He also let me fondle some of the AR's he had there...that's going on the list too. Later on will probably make some changes to the 92FS, like nicer grips or something. Frank had the 25th anniv. edition with the wood grips which looked really nice, so nice I'd never want to shoot it.
  10. Just make sure he keeps his ear plugs on... especially around Ray..... LOL!
  11. Got it at Caso's. Price was good, only about $40 more than I would have paid online and I didn't have to wait a week and a half for it to be delivered.
  12. I'll be putting up some later this weekend.
  13. Correction... not my first, it's technically a replacement. The 92fs was one of the guns I owned back in FL.
  14. My older nephew is almost 15 and has already bagged three bucks in the last year and a half. It all has to do with maturity and the kids ability to pay attention, follow instructions, and obey safety rules. His younger brother is 13, and has already shot himself in the foot with a .22 for not following instructions...
  15. "The incident may involve a driver who refused to pay the toll. " Jeez, people are getting crazier every day.
  16. Ended up going with the Beretta 92FS to replace the one I had to sell a last year when I was out of work. I really liked the Sig P226 but it was a couple hundred dollars more than I wanted to spend right now (with what I saved, I can almost fill my van's gas tank now). So now I have to wait for three more permits, gives me time to save up some more cash, and for Ruger to start shipping their new 1911. I really want to get my hands on that one and try it out. The wife will have to wait....she wasn't in too much of a hurry anyway.
  17. Another vote for MPro 7. I live in an apartment, so I can't use anything that smells too strongly or is toxic. MPro 7 works really well and is non-toxic. I read somewhere that it's based on the same formula as Simple Green, but does not corrode metal.
  18. Just like Bayonne! NOT! </rant=on> At the Bayonne range you mash the button....and wait...and wait...and finally the target starts moving....then you let go of the button....and the target still keeps moving. Depending on which lane you're in, you have to sort of time it to get the target where you want it. The only reason I go there is because it's so close to where I live, but I wish they would at least do some basic maintenance on the place....it's falling apart...literally a shithole....like another place that has "hole" in their name. Coming from the Tampa Bay, FL area, I was accustomed to "real" ranges managed by pros...and every other state I've visited recently (like SC), the ranges I've been to are clean, well-lit, professionally managed. Here in Jersey (at least in the general NYC metro area), the places I've seen quite literally suck, and you have to drive at least two hours to shoot somewhere that's halfway decent. Yet another thing I hate about Jersey. </rant=off>
  19. Nug is actually quite vocal. He's a regular on Cam & Company (every Monday night), has a weekly TV show on the Outdoor Channel and writes a column for the Washington Times. Here's his latest: My link
  20. For the umpteeth time its COJONES...not cajones!! "Cajones" means big boxes, and while I'm sure Chuck has some big boxes somewhere, I don't think they had any part in his fight with Bruce Lee.
  21. Absolutely! God forbid we allow people with a history of mis-using sound effects to get one of these...
