  1. I put a full Apex kit in my Performance Center M&P40 and I love it. She's a tac driver.
  2. Ray and Gary are great guys. I just ordered three 10/22's from them and as stated above, they are VERY fair with pricing and great guys to deal with. I hope they stick around, I know I'll sure be helping them as much as I can with my monthly democrat contribution.... LOL
  3. YES! Eagle Eye was absolutely awesome! The owner was a great guy and ran the place the way a gun range/store should be run. He was friendly, fair and open to everyone that wanted to learn, practice or just have some fun. The prices were very reasonable and the employees very helpful. Then came Hagues and down went everything I just said.... F that place!
  4. Well thank you for at least giving me a chance. I don't think I'm few and far between, I just think that most of the time when people come in contact with Police Officers they are doing it in undesirable situations that sometimes shed an "unfaltering" light on attitude. If you get to know some of the cops in the world, you'll find a lot more of them are just like you and me. As for concessions in our contacts, most people never hear the truth about that either. The media and political spin doctors don't want you to know that many police departments in the state have made some type of or multiple concession in the last few years. We aren't even in a contract negotiation and voluntarily opened our contract to give back $65,000 worth of concessions in order to help the municipality balance the budget. Not including the two administrators (that's the "top heavy, brass laden" department that we have, two administrators....) we have 12 "patrol officers." Now if we were making big 6 figure salaries, that wouldn't mean much, but I've told you all what we make and that's a pretty significant concession considering. We're not the only one's that have done this, I know almost every PD in my area has done it too. The problem is that many of the politicians have started to take advantage and are now seeing this as an opportunity to take advantage by either trying to force us to give back unreasonable amounts or by threatening layoffs that are proven unnecessary financially, simply to try to bully us into giving up more. We have to draw the line somewhere as we all have families too. We can't work for free. I recently read a forensic audit done on onw of these towns. It uncovered hundreds of thousands of dollars that were either hidden, "unaccounted for" or allocated to bunk expenditures. So basically the money was there to pay out all of the contracted obligations and responsibilities of the town and then some. But because of some personal agenda, attempts were made to hide funds so that tax's could be raised and salaries cut leaving surplus budgets of extraordinary amounts that then get allocated to shady real-estate deals that make no sense for the municipality. Obviously someone is going to prosper from those deals, take a guess who... Thankfully, my municipality is not one of these. We have a group of politicians that are good people and I truly believe are trying to the best thing for the tax payers and employees alike and try very hard to make everyone happy, which is why we were so willing to try to help out.
  5. Ok I guess I've won this debate because now you have nothing left to gang up on me about other than my dam screen name...LOL My job doesn't define me it's a friggen job. I'm a human being and an American before I'm a cop and because of that I thought I'd be able to enjoy a common hobby with some other human beings that happen to be American's... But apparently I'm nothing but a job to some of you people. It's a job I enjoy and a job I take pride in, but it's a friggen job. You have a job right? I've been pretty dam up front and honest with all of you, what exactly do you do? What's your job that's so noble, you have the right to say anything about my screen name and make an assumption about my affinity to violence? Your really going to start on a dam internet screen name now? I have a life outside my career and don't have to name myself on a dam internet forum to reflect what my career. Now by your logic, because my name is PistolWhip I'm a power abuser and an abusive violent cop??? Give me an F'n break, this is just getting ridiculous. If you have that much of a dam problem with me based simply on my career without ever meeting me and based on the lack of anything that's even remotely close to facts, that your going to start breaking my balls over my screen name.... You are clearly not worth my time in explaining or trying to enlighten you any further. If you must know (and why I need to explain my life any farther to you is still beyond me) PistolWhip is a name I've had for years on internet forums and it started as MmmmPistolWhip back when I first started posting on forums. MmmmPistolWhip was a reference to a scene in the Simpson's where Homer Simpson was eating whipped cream off of a pistol in a thought bubble as he mumbled "Mmmmm pistolwhip...." It has been shortened over the years, but it still refers to the same thing. I don't really care anymore what your perception of me is though. I'm done with this litte cry baby game that you play. You want things to change? Get your angry a** out from behind your keyboard and do something about it. Until you do that, your nothing but a cry baby that's part of the problem. I've proven my point to anyone that's not a stubborn jackass with a completely closed and created sense of reality. If you still refuse to give a man the benefit of a the doubt after all this, then well sir, I feel really bad for you and your sad sad little mind.
  6. I ordered the Iphone case... I really felt like I had to order something for a gun too just because I was ordering from Magpul, but I fought the erg for now, LOL.
  7. Malsua, are you really taking this to that level? Are you really comparing municipal Police Officers to bank executives that get 8 figure bonuses?? Come on, really? I guess I will have to bow out of this with the old sentiment that we are all men (and maybe woman, I don't know any of you) and we can agree to disagree. However a few things that I will correct. MY Police Department and MANY around it still have employed and use regularly "special" police officers every day to supplement the platoons as full time officers take time off, attend training, are out injured, etc... We currently use special officers to cover shifts almost weekly. This has never been a Union problem and is not frowned upon by anyone in our area. Secondly, the Union has nothing to do with the spending of our pension funds. That was done by the pension board who is basically elected just like the politicians that took the money in the first place. Ultimately our pension funds are governed by state elected officials who had direct and legal access to "borrow" from them at their will up until recently. Those officials raided the funds for decades, paying back NOTHING that they "borrowed" and that's why we're in the position we're in. I think some of you have a very flawed sense of just what a Police Union is now a-days. In all honesty, they are weak and flawed in and of themselves. All they do is supply the members with legal council to ensure workers rights (since its illegal for us to strike) and assist in the payment of bargaining unit arbitration should it be needed. In most cases, contracts in smaller departments like mine and the majority of the departments in this state, are negotiated face to face, by officers in that PD and elected officials. I live and work in South Jersey where the median salary for a Police Officer is not even remotely close to the median salary for a Police Officer in North Jersey, so please understand the facts before you start lumping us all together. I agree 100% that some cops are WAY over paid for what they do, but that is NOT the case for ALL Police Officers. I have never once complained about the salary and compensation benefits I make and you will never hear me complain about it either. A "topped out" Patrolman in my PD currently makes about $67,000. That's the probably around the lower end of average salary in the Southern region for LEO. We don't have shift overtime at all, so there is very little added to that salary other than side jobs and the compensation packages we receive in health care (which we contribute to). All Police Officers pay 8.5% of our pay towards our pension system which rewards us with a 65% return after 25 years of service (not much different than most of your 401k's). I'm a Patrol Sergeant with only a Captain and a Chief above me, assigned to a multi-jurisdictional SWAT team and have a base salary of $72,000. I don't make anywhere near what others in my same profession make, but I don't really care or complain about that either. I'm not greedy and I don't think I deserve to be paid for "what I might have to do." I am paid for what I DO do and for that I believe I am compensated fairly and justly. Finally, to say that Corporate America is functional and successful in the way its run right now is really another piece of extremely flawed logic in and of itself, but I don't want to go any further into this and will gracefully bow out. I have a great sense of pride in my career yes, but I am not an elitist or someone that believes I'm entitled to something for nothing just because I wear a badge. I understand that we are not immune to the problems our state and nation face right now and I also understand that it would only prove me a greedy pig to believe that I'm "entitled" to anything more than the opportunity to earn a fair wage and the right to exercise the retention of of what I pay or work for. I work hard for what I have and I sleep well at night knowing that I deserve and earn my pay every day. I don't want more than I'm worth, I don't want anything for "free" and I will never be accused of taking something I didn't earn. I'll call it quits with this and hopefully from here on out, my profession can be as invisible as all of yours for my time here on this board.
  8. kwadz, I understand your quandary and I don't envy you in the current state of affairs. The only advice I can offer you that isn't the expected and typical "cop" answer is to make sure that you are at a heightened level of awareness at all times when in that city. Don't live scared, just live aware. Whether you choose to carry your weapon or you choose to be creative like you have been with the wasp spray (which by the way, they say is more effective than pepper spray and actually requires a hospital visit to relieve its affects), keep yourself attentive to whats going on around you at all times and envision escape routes whenever possible. These are practices that I have come accustom to from work and its almost second nature now. I don't even think about it anymore, no matter where I am I just do it. For instance, when I pull to a stop at a red light, I keep at least half a car inbetween me and the car in front of me. That way I can turn in either direction and get out without hitting the car in front of me, or being boxed in. When I'm the lead car, I look across the intersection for the most likely route of non impact. When I'm stopped for extended periods of time, I constantly scan through my mirrors so as not to appear that I'm "staring" but still am aware of everyone around me. These are obviously just examples of alertness in traffic and you should start practicing being aware in all situations. Eventually it will become second nature and you won't believe what you actually see, that you never even noticed before. Awareness is the greatest defense we have to attackers that rely on surprise, shock and fear. Even an armed victim will still be a victim if they are overtaken by surprise, shock and fear. If you can see it coming before it develops and make adjustments to sway the surprise into your own favor, you've effectively defended yourself from the attack. Sadly in the City of Camden, if you find yourself in a situation that can not be avoided with awareness and escape, your likely to be over the limit of being defended by a P3AT as well. Honestly and hole heartedly, I'm sorry that you have to live any part of your life in fear, its a serious failure on the side of Law Enforcement as a hole in this state and I can't even begin to tell you how frustrated it makes me (and I don't even work in the City).
  9. You guys have to stop by the ATI bench and get some pics of the new GSG STG-44 .22LR clone and MP-40 .22LR clone. I saw a few blurry shots of them on ARFCOM and they look AWESOME!! I can't wait to order these bad boys.
  10. On a side note, anyone watching Conan? He just made a joke about Camden's Police layoffs.
  11. LOL, good point BRN169... The place really is a toilet, but the people that make the decisions in this state would never know. Sitting nice and warm and comfortable in their Moorstown, Mt. Laurel, Medford, mansions... At least the south side, don't know where the mighty pontiffs lay their heads in the north.
  12. Thankfully I don't work for Camden City and don't have to spend a ton of time there. I do appreciate the sentiments though.
  13. Sounds like we should have a little competition / BBQ / once the weather get s little better.
  14. LOL Yeah, exit 4 puts you down on Kaihn Ave and takes you down to Broadway which is the center of the toilet... If you keep going straight on Kaihn it will take you into the pretty much vacant now, industrial center. It's not bad if you know where your going and stay on the main roads (like Broadway, MLK, Mickel Blvd, etc...) but if you start trying to take "short cuts" your liable to end up in a bit of trouble. Just not worth it.
  15. They got $115 million in state aid in 2010.... I know they didn't pave a road with it cause you need a new kidney after driving down just about any road in the city, so where in the hell did it all go? Teachers and schools? They have like a 12% graduation rate and the kids from Camden that do want an edjucation use school choice to go to Camden Catholic, Pennsauken High, Cherry Hill, Gloucester, etc.... It's just very odd that $68 million on top of whatever taxes they did collect, isn't enough to run that city. I mean really, $115 million!!
  16. sir, I don't even like driving through that toilet with a handgun on my hip, a full auto M4 next to me in a rack, a Remington 1187 above my head in a rack, body armor on and in a Police car.... I certainly don't like driving through there in street clothes.
  17. Camden has been the #1, 2nd or 3rd deadliest city in the nation, per capita, for years. It's nothing new and on the latest poll, it was ranked #2.... Being that I grew up in the Camden area and have lived and worked here all my life, all I can say is, move as far away from this place as possible. The cancer of that city has been slowly moving outward in all directions since the 80's and this is only going to speed it up.
  18. And who's going to pay for that?? You don't have money to retain the service of your current employees, but your going to come up with money to pay a corporation to come in and tell you who you should lay off and who you should keep??? Do you have any idea how much these types of private services cost? I do and I can tell you two things about that kind of thinking. #1 these private corporations that do studies on government departments are state or federally licensed and approved to be contracted by other governmental agencies. What does that tell you about the influence that will be put on the outcome? #2 the costs of manpower analysis and forensic audits are outrageous. Who and how do you pay for them instead of saving that money and putting it toward saving jobs? You can't just pick the highest paid guys and cut them out so that you keep more people on the streets. Who is going to direct those troops if you have no command and supervisory structure? Also, what motivation to strive for productivity would these younger, lower paid officers have if they're was no job security or comfort in seniority??? You're dealing with people, not robots or machines. These are people with normal feelings that can see and understand what is going on above and below them.
  19. Its not a matter of a UNION, its a matter of what's right. You can't allow companies or governments to simply eliminate higher paying, supervisory positions in order to replace them with lower paid, less experienced personnel. Other than obvious reasons why, it allows for zero job security and also reduces the ability to retain services in the public sector. AND I never said anything about anyone being more or less qualified. It has nothing to do with being qualified. Police work is no simply a matter of saying "here's a book of laws, here's a gun and here's a badge now go be a cop." There are certain parts of the job that require certain skills and experiences and training. Telling an administrative officer to leave his current position and go out and be a patrol officer is like telling a carpenter to weld a boiler together. Yeah, they're both skilled workers, but they don't have the same skills and training. The men and woman that are getting moved into these new patrol rolls are NOT unqualified and for the most part, are a great bunch of cops that have been put in the positions they're in because they're good at what they do. That doesn't mean the transition to a different position without any kind of time frame "blend" is going to be productive. As much as many people may like to think it is, being a police officer is not as simple as putting on a uniform and arresting bad guys or writing traffic tickets. Please understand, I'm not trying to be confrontational about any of this. I'm just trying to give you guys a brief glimpse of what its like on the other side of the fence. Trust me, I am one of the one's that truly believes SOME (not all, SOME) of the police officers in this position have put themselves there with greed, elitist attitudes and disgusting sense of entitlement, but that is NOT the case in Camden at all and its not the case with the majority of the Officers in the southern half of the state. Those cops are nowhere near overpaid or over compensated over there in Camden and if they were to give up what the city is asking for, they'd be crazy to risk their lives for the compensation they'd be receiving.
  20. The problem with this is, who would you consider "innocent" and what do you mean by when the "stuff hits the fan?" The stuff is hitting the fan as we speak and the only people in this mess that aren't innocent are the gang members and the F'n crooked thieving politicians that caused this mess. The Camden lay offs are happening, it's real. The day shift will be turning in their badges and guns at the end of their shift. Those that were off today, have been trickling in all day turning in their gear and the remaining will be switching to 12 hour shifts in order to try to cover the gaps in shift coverage. The man power is being cut just about in half and the men and woman left to work the streets are 12 to 30 year vets, mostly in roles that limited their exposure to "the street." They got rid of all the young blood that was seasoned and experienced on the streets of Camden and brought out all the detectives, administrators, special operations personnel, supervisors, etc... then not only demote them and put them back on the streets, but changed their shifts to 12 hour swing rotations... So now not only do you have a lack of manpower, but the manpower you do have is disgruntled and alienated. WAY TO GO CAMDEN! Glad we dumped $68 million in state aid in there for 2010, it sure was worth it.... Are the people that voted for our current government "innocent?" Are the people that sit on their a** doing nothing while things get so bad that they come to public safety layoffs and gang contracts against cops, "innocent?" Who's "innocent" in this mess, you tell me....
  21. Glad you didn't bite on that one. They were setting you up, no doubt about it. I just hope that all the other NRA members they call are as smart as you are. On a side note and perhaps a bit more disturbing, the NRA gives out their members contact information?? What is that about? I mean I guess I could understand them giving contact info to certain foundations or purpose similar organizations, but to give out contact info to a liberal, half whit with a crappy second rate radio station is pretty dumb.
  22. Hate to say it, but we here in NJ are going to be facing the same BS real soon. As the government and media convince the rest of the state that Police and Fire are the reason we're all broke, they keep cutting budgets and services and eventually we're going to end up with the same technology gaps and man power shortages. Its inevitable at this point and is coming sooner than later.
  23. I just got a text message from a friend in Lakewood and there has been confirmation that assassination "contract" has been issued by a named and known high ranking gang member and has also been reportedly accepted by another know gang "hit-man." I don't know how sensitive this information is at this point, so I won't include names, but it is true. How serious they are is impossible to know, but they have taken the steps needed to raise some serious alerts and with all the dam lay-offs of cops around the state I can't imagine that they're worried about increased pressure from these threats. Who's gonna pressure them? There's not much "free time" left in our day to day activity to go out and do pro-active police work with the lack of man power around the surrounding towns and these guys are going to start running wild. By the time the summer time rolls around, all we'll be able to do is take a report and try to follow it up. If the police/fire scapegoating continues in the media and by the politicians, this state is going to be a nightmare real soon... If you can imagine it getting worse than it is...
