  1. I noticed that too. 300 million people and 300 million guns. So, i guess everyone in the country is a criminal. 100,000 people each year die because of guns. And of that 100,000, how many are legal carrying gun owners that just decided to open fire on people? It's the illegal gun owners and the cops that are responsible for most of that statistic. He really needs to make distinctions. Does anyone know of a whorehouse he frequents? So we can have him disgraced and force him to leave.
  2. Ill bet he has an armed security guard with him at all times while in NJ. I would also like to know if he has a NJ carry permit.
  3. Yes it does. And I was comparing to a Glock 21 SF, wich has a smaller grip then the regular Glock 21. Do you know which Glock 21 you handled? Don't rule out the FNP, I think it had the MED backstrap on it when I handled it. So with no backstap it might be the same as a Glock 21 SF or smaller. It did have a nice sticky feel to the grip and good ergos.
  4. I have handled one and the grip felt larger than my Glock 21SF. Thicker and longer. But i dont remeber if it had a backstap on it or not. It is a big gun. But being so big it probaly shoots real smooth. Seems like a good choice for a nightstand / range gun.
  5. Signed. Hopefully something comes out of this.

    PX4 Storm

That must be some sweet shooter. I have the PX4 40 full size and its a soft shooter, the 9mm must be a cream puff. I just put 300rds though it yesterday at the BH. As always, no failures or problems of any kind. I did by a Hogue Handall grip for it yesterday, makes the gun look really cool, and it feels great in the hand. I got to go back to the range next week and try out the new grip. I am thinking about getting a PX4 9mm Full Size Type C. I feel I have to get one of those type c's. I love the look of the clean, smooth slide on the C and D models.

    PX4 Storm

    Is that a 9 or a 40?
  8. If you need an external safety, Glock is not for you. If you can't get comfortable shooting a Glock, that is unfortunate for you. But from a design and engineering standpoint, Glock is a superior pistol. For duty, war, hd, CCW, recreation, and competition they are hard to beat. And yes there are more accurate match grade pistols, but we are talking about a $500 plastic gun here.
  9. Come to think of it, my first few mags through my G23 were a little hairy. I think it takes a good 200-400 rds to get use to the new grip angle. Then you will enjoy it.
  10. No, then dont buy one. I am a technical and mechanical guy, and in terms of technical specs, Glock always eeks out an edge over other brands including HK and Sig(I know that's going to start a war), whether it be weight, size, capacity, radius, simplicity, reliability, or/and a combination of those. I can not find 1 other pistol in today's market to match the combination of specs of a Glock. Glocks work for 75% of the LE community and probably 50% or more of the comp shooting community. I have looked at and considerd HK and Sig. Not to say that I wouldn't be able to shoot a SIg or HK great, I just couldn't justify spending 2 times as much as a Glock or Beretta or M&P and not get twice the gun. That's just me though.
  11. I knew that statement would touch a few nerves. But understand I didn't say the Glock blows away the M&P, I said it is a close second (meaning real close). I am actually in the process of buying another M&P (M&P Full Size 45). I am also a big Beretta fan. I was a Glock hater at one time, I actually despised them. But after tons of research, I couldn't find a pistol that did everything as good as Glock does. So I bought my first Glock. A Glock 23 Gen4. Man did my conceptions change. Couple quick examples: Beretta PX4 Full Size 40 vs Glock 22 (also relates to other hammer fired pistols vs stiker fired pistols) -Both pistols are full size with comparable weights -Takedown field stip, comparable -Beretta 14rds Glock 15rds -Sight radius, Glock -Barrel length, Glock -Trigger, opposite ends of the spectrum (personal preference) -But I still love my Beretta's M&P 40C vs Glock 23 (Both Marketed as COMPACTS!!) -Almost the same size with the Glock being slightly larger -The M&P is actually heavier than the Glock -M&P 10rds, Glock 13rds (both the same weight when fully loaded) -Trigger, Glock. The M&P trigger is nice and light, but the reset is non existent, the Glock will push your finger back up. -Barrel length, Glock -Sight radius, Glock -Takedown and field strip, Glock M&P FS 45 vs Glock 21SF -M&P 10rds, Glock 13rds -M&P is heavier (loaded and unloaded) -Nuff Said In response to some other comments: The takedown on the M&P could be simpler. You have to retract the slide, lock it, turn the takedown lever, THEN remove the tool from the grip and proceed to push the lever down in the mag well. Seems to me like an extra step for nothing. Then when I put the slide back on my M&P it feels rough and quarky, unlike the Glock and Beretta. A Glock can be completely dissasembled with one plastic punch. The M&P requires punches of different sizes, as does the Beretta, But the Beretta also rquires some fancy manuvers with a screwdriver to remove the hammer assembly. 1911 require way more parts to operate and thats why you found a 1000 1911 parts and only 400 Glock parts. That is some of the Genius that went into the Glock -- Simplicity. Police Department qual scores increases with M&P. Does not mean anything to me. Most police officers are not sharp shooters or compettion shooters. Most shoot only to qualify, and it just may be a coincidence if it is even true. Heck, maybe the switched calibers with the M&P. Either way, when you go to a pistol shooting competition, Glocks are always the majority. I am sure if there was a machine to test mechanical accuracy, it would be neck and neck between the Beretta, M&P, and the Glock. I know, the grip angle on a Glock. All I can say is alot of research went into that grip angle, and Gaston was no dummy. My Glocks, Berettas, and my M&P have all been 100% reliable. Like I said before, they are all great guns with some great features. It's just that Glock has "ALL" the best features in one platform. Go buy yourself a Glock 19 and you will see, you will change your mind real fast.
  12. Yep. In terms of design, weight, size, mag capacity, sight radius, barrel length, breakdown, simplicity, refinement, accuracy, and reliability. + More aftermarket parts, support, and holsters than any other gun. The man was a true genius. Comparing apples to apples technical specifications you just can't beat them. Even though M&P is running a close second, they just don't seem as refined in fit and finish and the takedown process needs to be simplified.
  13. Haha. That's what I used to say about Glocks. Now I own 3. There is good reason you see more Glocks than any other gun, they are a superior pistol. On another note. I don't think I would ever conceal carry a M&P. I have a M&P 40C and it is a great gun. But the stock trigger is really light. It can be pulled very easily, much easier than any of my Glocks. It almost feel like a match grade trigger. Hey, that's what you want for competitions anyway, so, good choice.
  14. Even though there not as popular any more a gun with a DA/SA action is a nice compromise. Most complain about the heavy, long pull first shot of the DA but its acts as a great safety. Just like a DA revolver, you can't pull that trigger by accident, you definitely will be aware that your pulling it. This is one reason I like my PX4's. I have the type g that have no manual safety but they do have a decocker. With a type f you have the manual safety and could leave it off and still have the safety of the first DA pull. In the army you are issued the Beretta M9. It has a manual safety. You are trained to carry with the safety on and to disengage it as you draw. After enough times practicing this it will become a natural response.

    PX4 Storm

Interesting. Never heard that about the PX4's or Beretta's in general. I personally think the PX4 is the best looking poly pistol on the market. But then again I rate Glock as the second best looking poly pistol. XD's and Walthers are just butt ugly.
  16. What's NB? Nutley or North Bergen? If your talking about Nutley, then yes, the firearms guy was a great guy, unfortunately, he got laid off from the department in Jan, 11. I hope some agencies read the posts so they also realize how stupid the NJ procedures and rules are. Maybe they will speak out too. The 15 rd mag thing too. Ok, so you cant do any harm with a 15 rd mag, but a 17rd, oh boy watch out. Because of this rule I dont buy full size 9mm handguns.
  17. Can I park on a set of active railroad tracks please. Just like at the BH ( BS). J/K. But seriously, when can we start shooting? 3 yrs in the making, holy crap. Glad you hung in there.
  18. I got to say, I really think this whole separate permit to purchase a handgun thing is really stupid. I mean you have to go through the same drawn out process everytime including a retarded 1 per 30 day period. Like it really matters? I heard the argument that you might have shot and killed someone from your last handgun purchase so we have to check you out again for this purchase. But really? Like I don't have my FID card and can go out and buy a much more deadly rifle or shotgun at will? I don't get it. You think the state would rather collect the increased tax revenue and help improve the economy from multiple and faster pistol purchases. Idiots.
  19. Personally I think its bs that only off duty cops can carry guns. Why do they have the right while off duty to protect themselves and their families but law abiding citizens do not. What, cops lives are more important then the publics? fugg that, and I don't care if this looks like a cop bashing post, but they shouldn't be treated as some superior life form to the public. If it was some average Joe they probably would have been killed. Then what will we hear? How it was a tragedy?
  20. Went an applied for 5 pistol permits today. Detective told me I can only legally apply for 3 at one time. Hanover Township, NJ
  21. That is a disaster. Sorry to hear that. You could always go to the range and watch others shoot there PX4's. I know, that was cruel.
  22. YES!! Most people don't realize this. Everything is on the back of a truck at one time. With the toll hikes and the price of diesel fuel over $4 and rising almost daily, your gallon of milk should be $9 before long.
