  1. I can try .. but where am I going to get the sharks for the moat?
  2. Yes, that why use those belts, it saves a lot of time getting the gear on.
  3. Actually the teclock will work, but I was referring to this one: This mounts closer to the belt and what I'm currently using.
  4. They also don't sell the pink grips by themselves, or in any 10rd package which upsets my wife (she wants a set for her gun). I asked Dave Olhaso about it and his solution to both problems was have someone in PA order it, keep the mags, and then transfer it to a NJ dealer. To much work as far as I'm concerned.
  5. The last DOH I bought came with a belt attachment that is adjustable for belt size. I do not like in theory, but it seems to work fine in practice.
  6. So the military channel won't be the "How we kicked Hilters a**" Channel for about an hour this week? I don't know if I can cope with that.
  7. Negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full. The rules say thats a no-no.
  8. Now guys lets not start that thread again. I'm just planning a USPSA stage, with a bit of .. flair. Its not like I'm the kind of person to make you take 20yard off hand headshots between noshoots or anything.
  9. ..furiously taking notes of all suggestions.
  10. Define "next Sunday". The next OB USPSA match is May 22. As my back is feeling better I might actually start designing stages again, news which I'm sure will be greeted with groans across the state. Planning for my next stage design, I had some rules questions for of the USPSA rules guru's which were answered with basically "You could do that, but you would be a dick". To which I answered "Have you met me?"
  11. We need to kidnap Ray as the control group, I keep telling you. I don't care if he is to busy or whatever.
  12. Now you are just trying to get a rise of Slav for now good reason
  13. I think so. As I said you can do a detailed strip without tools, I'm not sure thats possible with a Glock, but then again, I don't own a Glock , When I say detailed strip I mean take out every single part can its not glued, stalked, or welded on.
  14. I find the 1911 platform the easiest to maintain. If you go with one of the "simpler" models, series 70 based, no internal locks, standard sloted grip screws, etc, you can almost take all of it apart with the bits on the gun itself and a .45 case. I think the only thing that might require a tool is the mainspring housing pin, but only if it is really tight, you should be able to push it out with the hammer strut. The only parts that SHOULD require a tool are the hammer strut pin and the barrel link pin and those things really shouldn't come apart. If I had to only have one gun forever and ever and I had to consider repairing it, I think I'd look at a 1911.
  15. One word of warning about zeroing irons in conjecture with a red dot. Make sure you zero the irons THROUGH the red dot, not with the red dot off the gun. Yes, they are as parallax free as they can be, but your zero will be slightly different when you view your front sight through the red dot lenses. Close up it doesn't matter, add a bit of range and it does. Or at least it does for me, your millage may vary.
  16. I agree with Shane, aimpoint is the answer. I would steer clear of eotech, their battery life is terrible ($70 chinese red dots do 3 times better on battery life, and thats pathetic) and I've seen them break over and over again.
  17. Shane, would you like to see if you and Tosser can reschedule for sometime in July? I think I can wiggle out of my 11th family stuff but I'll have to buy my wife some jewelery or something. I'm actually kinda interested in meeting you and doing that test against Ray and neither of you can make it.
  18. You can knock out the participation stuff in a week if you want to, but I do think there is also a 6month probationary period.
  19. I'm trying to shuffle my schedule to make it, as mentioned I have a prior commitment. I also own no face masks, etc so I'll have to borrow some.
  20. My recommendation is a Ruger MkIII. Well actually it is a Ruger MkII but those are getting harder to find even used. The good news is that a used Ruger MkII should be around $200 and unless it was used as boat anchor A LOT it will probably still work. Yes, Rugers are hard to clean, but they work even when extremely dirty so it isn't that big of an issue. The Buckmark is also a good option, and much easier to clean. The Mosquito my wife bought for herself because it was pink has been a dog. At some point I had enough and took it apart, removed all flashing from casting in the gun and magazines, polished all contact surfaces, and ran 1000 rounds through it in one day to make sure it is well broken in. Now it finally works, but I'm for from the only person who has seen problems with them. In theory, the new plastic mags are better then the older metal ones and a lot of the problems where mag induced.
  21. Ah see I don't have a problem with that statement. You are saying "MAY". However: That statement contains no "MAY", it is an absolute, and that is what I take issue with, and I have all along. And that is the crux of my argument. Your statement right there invalidates the premise that "gun games will get you killed". That was my point all along, and I'm glad to see you say it.
  22. Hold a moment, I think that it makes him an IDEAL candidate. The questions presented here, in the thread title, is can gun games get you killed? Not if 2-3 trained fighters can defeat one untrained one like myself, that is a forgone conclusion I have already granted. The theory presented here is that I have bad habits from my USPSA shooting. I posit that if Ray doesn't (and has the advantage of having gone through boot camp, and I think he is younger and more fit then me) then he is the ideal candidate to contrast to me. Putting him and I to the SAME test should shed some light on the question of can gun games get you killed? Testing weather you and Tosser can kill me is not the the question being discussed, the question is can you kill me "more" because of my bad habits when compared to someone who doesn't have them.
  23. I was there for that, and although I did not see Noveske do it, I heard about it. Hell, I think I was in the squad ahead of you guys. While I wasn't impressed but what they tried to pull in competitive context, wasn't there in this thread a bunch of stuff about how life has not set rules, so in that context can you blame them from trying to wring every bit of advantage?
