  1. Had to work yesterday doing a wedding. Sorry I missed the clays at OB! See you this Friday if it rains? Dave
  2. Is that a "Tacticool" SKB, LOL! Good for YOU! Dave
  3. My 10 ga. SxS ML does Clays, Pheasants & I even shoot .715 roundball out of the right side which is Cylinder bore, LOL! Anytime you want to take a ride to shoot it, let me know! Dave
  4. Check-out the Dawson web site for the STI line. Basic to tricked-out, it's all there!
  5. That is very well put and succinct! I too have friends who have CZ's, both pitols & SxS Shottys. Fit & finish are superb for the money and they stand behind their product. As to the reason why some places don't recommend them, it's easy---it all comes down to MONEY! The guy you ask isn't a dealer with them and therefore he has to buy it through a middle-man, taking a huge chunk of any profit with it's sale, so they Pu-Pu CZ. Let's face it, this forum is wrought with shooters who would rather mail-order than pay a little more to keep a brick & mortar store open, so QUALITY & SERVICE is forsaken for PRICE. The shame of it is CZ's aren't really expensive, they're on par with Russian Remingtons price-wise, but are of much higher quality.
  6. COOL to see those Pix Parker! Nice to hear that I'm not the only person on this forum that likes traditional shotyys! Dave
  7. Anybody else besides Parker & I have a SxS or an O/U?? How about a hammer gun?? Come on, admit it, they CAN really smash clays! Dave
  8. Outdoor range with clays launched in the air AND a rifle range at least 100 yards long? Or a 25 yard indoor range that's paper only?? Please specify, as MOST folks may forget to ask....and so you can get the info you need.
  9. STI Spartan is a great gun for the money! Never let your wife see inside the safe next time...........
  10. Certificate Of Eligibility. The famous NJ State Form to transfer all Long Guns.
  11. Please don't think I'm being a smart-a**, but maybe so you can get used to handling your own gun!
  12. Just remember to wipe your drool off of the equipment, especially the 7.62 Dillon Aero, LOL! YOU LUCKY DOG YOU!! Dave
  13. Harry, Definitely a mis-communication of some sort! Going tonight to USPSA-Lite?
  14. You do not need to OWN a sidearm. You do need to be able to handle one legally, so you can't be a "prohibited person". Go to the Shoot-NJ web site and read up on it. Shoot NJ supplies all of the firearms and ammo for their classes, but you CAN bring your own, IF you LEAVE ALL OF THE AMMO OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM!! THAT IS THE BIGGIE AS FAR AS NRA RULES ARE CONCERNED!! Chet & Dawn will set you straight. Dave
  15. CRAZY! Wonder why the bus driver took so long to hit the gas? Only in the City of Brotherly LOVE!
  16. Nick, Prayers are sent to You & Yours! May God Bless you all! Dave
  17. Yes, they're held all over the State. You may have to drive a little to get to one. Go to the ANJR&PC web site for a link to the foundation for a list of venues or check the News & Briefs newsletter for a listing.
  18. $50.00 for dinner at Mayfair Farms is a steal! I can't be there due to work issues. Too bad everyone here isn't excited about going. I wonder how many members belong to the NRA and how many don't, just hanging on the coat-tails so to speak? Dave NRA Life Member
  19. Hiker 88 has the right idea! We have Indoor Action League (USPSA-Lite) tonight at Old Bridge. Non-members shoot all four stages for only $20.00! If you're new to USPSA, come at 6:30 and go through an Orientation where you're taught Safety & Rules of the game and then you do a live-fire to demonstrate good, safe gun handling skills and you're GTG! Round count is usually less than 80 rounds. Great practice & nice folks! I'll be there tonight, so say hello! Dave
  20. Sounds like NOT ENOUGH GUN to me..... So they had to close the woods down today so they could all search for a wounded animal
  21. At times like this I'm very glad that I'm self-employed. At least I don't have to worry about my employer being a phallus. And to think that they make Cops go through the same procedures even though they carry on-the-job, to & from as well as off-duty. It's all about the money. CRAZY!
  22. Yeah, you got the site correct! I always liked being close to the rifle & shotgun range....it made it easier to hang-out there and help teach the scouts. Deer would walk right in front of the berm and you had to blow a whistle to call a CEASE FIRE so bambi wouldn't get hit with a "stray" round or pelted with #7 1/2 shot! I donated a 20 ga. Mossberg 500 Youth Model to the Council a few years prior to the Council decision to no longer have summer camp on the property. Wonder if they're still using it to teach the scouts at Yard's Creek?
  23. Our Troop was usually at Rocky Point in the Lean-to's, about half-way up "Hernia Hill". My son will be 22 this month, so it's been a while since we camped there. The one bear we did see came through our sight around 4:00 or 5:00 am with Ranger Mark Mullen chasing it, screaming, "RANGER, RANGER, BEAR IN YOUR SITE!!", so it was eventful to say the least! That was the day we had our talk about sidearms. I also remember a fried bat in his fuse box at his residence (we did electrical work there putting outlets in for him) next to the work yard where the garbage dumpster was with the electric fence around it, LOL! I vaguely remember hearing about the Dan Beard site bear box incident. Not sure what year or which week in the camping schedule. We usually camped during the last week of camp (this week on the calendar). One time at Yard's Creek, in the fall on a weekend camp-out, we waved to 3 bears near the entrance on the way in on Friday. We used our cars for water trips that weekend! Getting back to the contraband story: The looks on those kid's faces when all of the stuff hit the big bag as the ASM went from one Lean-to to another was simply precious! Ah, the good-ole days! Dave
