    First Sig

I'm interested in the P229 Extreme. Pretty much build the way I would normally upgrade a Sig. G10 Grips and SRT. Congrats on the new pistol!
  2. Only a the 1911 22 upper Kimber Conversion which I'm hoping will work on the TRP. Do not have anything else in 22. I got the Armory Kote railed version. Stainless is nice too and they had one, but really like the Armory Kote look.
  3. Most dealers do not want you to dryfire. Maybe cause it might show wear on the hammer which makes it look not as new. But it does suck cause that's the only way you can test the trigger of the gun.
  4. I put a cylinders worth of very hot 357 mag handloads down range. Felt like shooting a 9mm. I just lean toward the S&W, but yes the Rugers are really nice. I actually like the SP101 a lot.
  5. I was considering this one as well. I'm kind between the Pro and stepping it up to the PC. I felt a PC trigger and it was amazing.
  6. So one of the guns I want to get with some permits coming in is a revolver. I have been eyeing the 627 for a while. Originally the 4" version, but wondering if I should go all out and get the PC version. Intended uses are steel, maybe some USPSA now that they allow 8 shots. Overall just to have a sweet wheel gun. The way I look at it is this will have the trigger work, grips, etc etc all ready to go and I won't have to change a thing. Worth the extra cost? Good revolver to start with? Be all end all wheel gun? What are your thoughts?
  7. LOL. Nice. Me a revolver and possibly a 9mm 1911.
  8. I have a 26. But if I were to go smaller I may actually entertain a J-Frame. Surprised no one said that yet. No wheel gun love?
  9. If not this time around one of these days!

    Kimbers

I did a review on mine (TLE RL II). Yes I did have an issue of the gun locking up prematurely in the beginning. Sent it back to Kimber and they didn't really solve the problem. Ended up being the slide stop which I sanded down a hair and after that things were good. I do not like Kimber's customer service policy which is limited to only 1 year. Firstly they are a marketed as a higher end 1911. They command a higher premium than an average 1911. They present themselves as such. When I called the customer service department the first question they asked was "How long have you had the gun?" I was a little put off. That being said I have had a good run with this 1911. Has served me well in many matches and has been a blast. I've since upgraded to a Springfield TRP. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnS2y4bjhhA
  11. Yes indeed a revolver is one of the ways I want to use my permit. The other is for a Springfield TRP I just paid for. So that leaves one more. Sorry should have mentioned that. LOL.
  12. Any of you guys have suggestions for something a little different? I have a few permits coming in and for one of them I thought about trying something other than your norms: Sig, Glock, M&P, XD... Currently own a Beretta 92G and have had an HKUSP, but not opposed to some of their other models. I thought maybe CZ, Any other ideas? Experiences?
  13. Pretty good shape, I'd say it still may be under or maybe just over 1000 rounds. I never got around to using it in any matches so no holster wear. Very slight wear on the serrations not too noticeable. I am only the second owner. I'd part with something else, but that would probably yield the most coin.
  14. No disagreement that it's awesome. I actually don't shoot it very well compared to my other guns oddly enough. I know it's a me issue. I just committed to the TRP so now it's gonna have to go up on the marketplace. Unless I decide to part with something else...
  15. Thanks guys. Mine doesn't have the markings under the muzzle. The side says 'Made in Germany' not 'Made in W. Germany'. Not sure what that implies.
  16. I'm just seeing if what I"m observing is correct. Seems like since the newer version of this pistol came out (M11-A1), the "original" model is commanding a higher price tag. But my only real reference is Gun Broker and the likes which tend to have higher price tags to begin with. Below is my P228. Is it truly 'West German' as they say cause the slide says Exeter, NH? In any case just seeing if you guys know a good asking price. I will be selling it to help fund a Springfield TRP (once I get permits).
  17. A lot of people blown away at the price which is surprising as I'm sure most of you would not question someone spending over 2-3k on a custom 1911. The other thing is these things can double/triple in value in the secondary market. $550 is a steal for that knife based on the maker. Would more than double in value by the time you took possesion if I had to guess. I got this one below for $650. Rip off right? I've been offered $1600 for it. I turned it down.
  18. I just ordered. I"m surprised it was that cheap. Their prices on other things was pretty decent too.

    Glock 41

Kinda wish you didn't tell me that. Now I want one. I wanted them to do the 21 like the 30s. So is the 41 the same thickness as the 34?
  20. I agree with this. I have friends I bring shooting regularly and they love it. But even then they still would never consider buying a gun. If you're not into it you're just not into it. You don't have to be against it necessarily.
  21. I was about to ask if there was any functional aspect to the unit.
  22. Thanks for all the replies. Based on the above I am comfortable listing my business as my employer and will proceed as such. I don't even think they look at that except for the initial time you apply for an FID.
  23. Hey guys, hoping you could help shed some light on a matter I am facing. I recently switched jobs and I would rather not risk the local PD sending anything to my current job in regard to my applying for a purchase permit. Note: I already have my FID, this is only for a PP. I also have my own company with a partner and we are both considered employee/owners. But the company is based out of Maine. So can I list this as my employer? And will this be an issue with the application? Otherwise I am going to have to have a very awkward conversation with my mangers and I'd rather not go that route. Though I don't even think they mail anything for purchase permits. Still, would rather not risk it. Thanks for your input and thoughts.
  24. The Dick's coupons and reward points never apply to ammo. Least everything I've received from them says you can't use it for ammo. Though I have used it for ammo without them giving me much of an issue.
