  1. S69 and A1384 are no longer tied to CCW. that was a bill introduced in 2009. The current bills proposed for ccw in 2012-2013 are S104, S269, and A1493
  2. ill be on it... tweeting along the pro ccw to protect me and my family line
  3. So sad about Red Dawn II... I would have like to see them link the Chinese as the enemy rather then the N. Koreans. The sensationalism over the original Red Dawn is that America perceived a Russian invasion as a cold war threat (albeit a long shot) Here we have the Chinese in the same position Russia was in 30 yrs later and the film makers change the invaders (originally Chinese) to N. Koreans. Scary to see what a bunch of pussies we've become that they change something like that to bend over and not make the chinese look too scary. Changes like that make me think the movie wont hold a candle to the original . Now onto the new(ish) movie. Looking forward to seeing it = )
  4. This.... yes..convert.. IE is the devil. Youll find firefox or chrome considerably faster.
  5. Cant believe this discussion has continued through 3 full pages... Agree to disagree? :thsmiley_deadhorse:
  6. normally I would agree to this, but if this man was certain of his abilities to decide to defend himself and the bystander I support his decision. We can what if all day long, but if the perp made the decision to not leave witnesses, everyone including the small child never makes it home.
  7. An inspiring look at US politics and how no matter what side of the fence you sit on (R v. D) that you are being screwed regardless. Ever look at a group of potential Presidential candidates and say to yourself "is this the best they got?" Congress's approval rating is in single digits... and they just dont get it, or they just dont care. /rant please no lefty/righty banter... take it for what it is... a pissed off citizen tired of getting hosed by government at every turn. Nice post and good find.
  8. On an attempt to lighten the mood, detract from the back and forth, and in no way contribute to the original posts subject of Open Carry... Here's an example of a good outcome (albeit close) of a successful CCW story COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police said a desk clerk shot a man who was attempting to rob an east side motel on Saturday night. Officers said that shortly before p.m., a man walked into the Super 8 Motel, located at 2055 Brice Rd., showed a gun and demanded money. Police said the desk clerk on duty then shot the alleged robber, Antoine Stephens. Stephens, 20, was transported to Grant Medical Center and was in serious condition on Sunday morning, NBC 4 reported. Police said he would be charged with aggravated robbery. 3 shots fired, all 3 hit the bad guy, gun was a glock 23, 40cal with 165g Gold dots no charges filed agenst shooter, badguy went to prison.
  9. This makes me happy.. Gotta find a used one for a little less than the grand it sells for though.
  10. even gunbroker.com shows the cheapest at $976 NIB. I would buy one used probably because it would be an "every now and then" gun because of the ammo cost and availability. Gotta be that OD Green though.. damn that color scheme looks good on that gun.
  11. Ive stated before I am not a fan of wood grain... but this.. would be the only exception. I like the silver/nickel break up added to it.
  12. No wonder why people file 3-5 permits at a time.. There's got to be some sort of overhaul to this process. Sadly any change knowing this state would involve further scrutiny to make it harder. DNA sampling anyone?
  13. Not much different from having a single stack .45 so its not too far of a stretch to be tolerant of a 10rnd pistol mag if they cant pin the 20s.
  14. For the life of me.. Ive been staring at this pic for 20 mins and have yet to find this damn gun they speak of..
  15. http://www.cabelas.c...%3Bcat112229280 350 rnds of federal champion 180 grain fmj. + ammo box for $99 (regularly priced at $130) Use promo code "22ship" for $5 shipping on orders $99 or more. puts the cost around 26-27 cents a round shipped if you assume the ammo box is worth $10. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Federal-American-Eagle-45ACP-Ammunition-with-Ammo-Can/1214787.uts?WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104792580 They also have .45 acp american eagle fmj for $154.99 with the same shipping option.
  16. five-seven... MMMmMmmmM... That's on my shortlist.. If you choose that let me know how much it set you back... spending all my dough on high end handguns is gonna kill my bank account eventually.
  17. Yea.. you and those damn berettas sheep lol I agree with your post.. we live in a world of keyboard commandos, who love to get into a good pissing match to prove theyre right. Whether it's religious, political, or even weapon of choice it always goes downhill. Sad part about the whole ordeal is that guns and the like usually attract the alpha personalities, and the result is what you see of people going at it in the forums... I do enjoy the company of the state forum... get to know people close by, and have an "in" so to speak regarding info on local ranges and shops. Keep it clean boys and girls.. we all share the common bond of loving things that go bang, boom, and pewn. Let that trait continue to unite our common goals and interests of bettering the shooting community.
  18. It's sad that their motto "To prevent gun violence" sole answer is to take guns away from everyone. Do they even address alternate means by which these guns are obtained by criminals guilty of gun violence?
  19. Any good leads on extra mags for a .40 sig 226? I saw they make standard 12 and 15 rnd ones on various sites. Any cons for one over the other? the extra rounds are appealing but will it be a noticeable difference while in the pistol? (size, ergo, appearance?) Thanks for any info.
