  1. I didn't see anything in the articles above about a NEW FPID, just that a photo IId would be required at time I'd purchase.. Like it is now. I know there is the bill through assembly that changes the FID but I didn't see it in the quotes above.
  2. Obviously the devil is in the details but even the video game stuff isn't that bad. Display ratings and require consent..Most retailers do this already.
  3. Wasn't there something in the AP article about footage from Thursday when they tried to rob a conscience store? If that's true it's hardly blending back in.
  4. The bill that made it through the assembly had some details on the training. While I had questions and concerns it did mention that the NRA course would count.
  5. There is a difference between using the Army for bomb disposal and using them as law enforcement. Still, a more likely scenario is that the news had their organization wrong.
  6. Just because your NJDL has your FPID info on it doesn't mean it would be human readable. It could be coded on the bar code/mag strip (I forget what the DL has) or even just be a reference on your DL number in a DMV database. I still don't like the idea of combining them, but it wouldn't have to be as obvious as the twilight license and such.
  7. You guys don't get it. Lat saved us. He wanted to vote no for M-T but couldn't due to party. Instead he faked an illness knowing that not voting was the same as a no vote. He played a beautiful political game and we owe him. This is the same thing. The old rope-a-dope. What a genius!
  8. Given the needle is a haystack, I think they did pretty good. A lot of footage and pictures to scour. Now that they have pictures and descriptions they can go back to the other pictures and try to trace out arrival and departure means..etc.
  9. Hey, if this was a reality TV show, one of the characters would have been kicked off by now.. if this was a sitcom two characters would be pregnant and if it was a drama the AG would already have the suspect arraigned. Welcome to the I.want.it.now-generation.
  10. A good take on the MSM's handling of Boston so far in TechCrunch The video is also pretty funny: http://deadspin.com/todays-boston-bombing-media-shitshow-in-90-seconds-475212590
  11. Interesting that this seems to be te closest vote yet. I'd think very few Dems would back it.
  12. My first thought was whether they were Mormons going door to door.
  13. I'm on the fence about #1.. I haven't seen anything that compares the amendment with the original bill. From a NJ perspective I didn't see anything in the T-M amendment that we aren't already forced to endure here. The out of state handgun aspects could be an improvement. Certainly there are concerns with it, but it may be an improvement on the original bill. The big thing is less about what's actually in T-M. If T-M fails then there is a very good chance the entire bill will fail.. at least that's how it was explained to me.
  14. The FID info may not be tied to your DL or registration but I think it is tied to your address and available in the MDT that way. If the PD is called to an address for something they know beforehand if there have been P2P's or FID's applications.
  15. According to the news all the letters were postmarked 4/8 (before Boston) from Memphis.. no known correlation.
  16. It's still Supply and Demand.. it's just that the "Demand" doesn't know that the "Supply" isn't as scarce as it appears. It takes a while to catch up and for the price to drop.. unfortunately.
  17. What we're seeing now is time when it goes from a sensation to an investigation... approaching 22-hours in and everyone who would know about the story already does yet there is very little new information for the MSM to actually report. Turn on the news right now and you'll see the networks tripping over themselves to maintain viewers/readers/clicks by reshowing terrible pictures, interviewing people who don't have any more information then the rest of us, and making predictions that range from bold to asinine all in a desperate attempt to maintain viewers. Meanwhile those that do real work.. those investigating the event are digging in for the long haul.. This is going to take a while.
  18. I heard it was aliens. Seriously nobody even fully knows "what" yet. They can't possibly know "who".
  19. All, Keep in mind we're all watching/listening/reading live coverage and almost nothing has been fact-checked. All we know at this point is at least 2 devices, lots of injuries and there have been deaths. other then that lets keep the 'as reported' to a minimum until things are corroborated
