  1. For that price I'd order another one, but I guess the sale is over since I'm seeing a higher price. At $699 it's one of the best buys out there if you like the Beretta platform.
  2. Ok, with all the discussion on this I'll pipe in. I buy it from my FFL when it makes sense and online when that makes more sense. I haven't had to buy much lately since I'm fairly stocked up and haven't been shooting much. Would I pay $12 for a box of 9mm when I can get it on-line for $8? Nope. Would I pay $9 if I needed 100 rounds? Yep. I usually buy cases online but it never hurts to keep an eye on local prices too. Sometimes there are deals to be had. That said, there is a lot to say about supporting your local FFL. Up here, I've been able to build up a relationship to the point that I get some fantastic deals on firearms from him - I've shared some of them here and some members have gotten the benefit when I've transferred them to you all. I have no problem paying $10 more for a case of ammo when there are other benefits - transfers at no cost, used firearms at less than wholesale, new firearms at well below street price, free gun cleanings, never mind the ability to just hang out at the shop shooting the shit for a couple hours. Also, there are quite a few people that come into an FFL to "dispose" of ammo they found when cleaning out a house. I've been given thousands of rounds of new boxed ammo just because I was sitting in the shop when it came in. I won't take any reloads though Make your FFL a friend. They're in business - it doesn't mean they're bad for not being able to compete with on-line prices. I said the same thing when I was in NJ and it worked there too. My FFL there is routinely bashed here on the forums, yet I had none of those problems.
  3. I don't think demand for ammo has really changed much, but when the largest ammo seller gets out of the business (Walmart) there will be an effect at the retail level. My FFL can't keep ammo in stock but I haven't seen much change in the prices. He's always been competitive, maybe a $1 a box more than online. Difference now is tat his stock turns over every couple of days instead of a couple of weeks. He's adding more to stock trying to figure the new norm. All bets are off as we get closer to the election though. Panic hoarding will hit again.
  4. May be stating the obvious, but you need the version that comes with 10-round mags. Other than that you're gtg.
  5. I haven't priced out a kidney on the black market in a while, but if it comes to that I'll let you know. Anything worth doing should be done with complete commitment! Shooting is no different...
  6. Close up view of my ODGreen frame version 92FS. I added the Beretta grips and skeletonized hammer (and the G spring). I like the look of the grips but they are a bit "fat" for my hands. What I really need to do is get a set of the Wilson Combat thin grips for it.
  7. I refuse to be constrained by arbitrary limits. If it were just money, well I could always sell a kidney
  8. Here's my 39-2. I don't know if it's ever been worked on but it has an amazing trigger rest.
  9. New code cls40 gets you 40% off and free shipping.

  11. Ok, I know there was a thread a while ago on this but figured I'd start a new one. Let's see 'em! I have the 92G Langdon Tactical, M9A3 FDE, Wilson Combat 92G, Wilson Combat Compact, 92FS Inox with Silver controls, another 92FS Inox with black controls, A 92FS with OD Green frame, a 92FS in Sniper Gray, and a 8040 Cougar NRA edition. Not shown is a 92S Surplus Italian police model.
  12. So I mentioned sending another 92fs out for cerakote in OD green - see pics. I like the look with the black slide and controls. I also updated the Sniper Gray with different grips and a threaded barrel. This can get addicting...
  13. The requirement to maintain liability insurance on your auto is mandated on a state-by-state basis. Not all states require you to have liability coverage on your vehicles. Where is it required, the necessary limits vary by state.
  14. I have 3 in my primary rotation. My go-to is a Kimber micro-9 and a Springfield XD-9 in OWB paddle holster, then a Ruger LCP .380 pocket carry. When clothing permits I have a Sig RCS 1911 .45 acp commander in a shoulder rig.
  15. there is no-one on this forum that get's to see my pink...
  16. Hi all, I've been a Beretta 92 fan ever since I got back into the shooting sports, a 92FS Inox was my first purchase many years ago. Since then I've been able to gather "several" of them. The last thing I needed was another standard 92FS, but this was part of a collection my FFL got from a police seizure. Let's just say it was pretty beat up with a price that reflected the condition. So, I decide to send it out to get cerakoted, and figured let's try something a bit different - Sniper Gray slide and frame with black barrel and controls. I added the grip and the hammer. I like the look so much I think Beretta should offer it as a stock item. I know they have a version with a gray frame but that has a black slide. Pic for comparison next to a standard model. Since I have another I think I'll do an OD Green frame with a black slide and controls.
  17. Nah. That just means you picked the one she was thinking of.
  18. I was cleaning a few handguns from my last range trip and I got to counting - I have separate 5" 1911 handguns in .22lr, 22TCM, 9mm, 10mm and .45ACP. I guess I need to keep an eye out for .380 & 38 Super Just curious how many calibers others have in a single platform. I realize Glocks come in just about every commercial caliber out there so maybe that's the most versatile? What other platforms offer as many choices?
  19. In my corporate days I took the Myers-Briggs "test" several times, with the same results every time - INTP. I was usually the only one among the group with that type. "INTPs are philosophical innovators, fascinated by logical analysis, systems, and design. They are preoccupied with theory, and search for the universal law behind everything they see. They want to understand the unifying themes of life, in all their complexity. INTPs are detached, analytical observers who can seem oblivious to the world around them because they are so deeply absorbed in thought. They spend much of their time focused internally: exploring concepts, making connections, and seeking understanding. To the Architect, life is an ongoing inquiry into the mysteries of the universe."
  20. I think you'd cry if you knew what I paid for mine. I went in to buy a used Colt Wiley Clapp 1911 and bought this one instead. For less.
  21. Thanks. I have the Valor too - DW makes some damn fine handguns!
