  1. I hope this is posted in the right forum if not I will gladly move it. Back in July I was denied a P2P because of a DUI some years back. The reason was a public health and safety concern. I thought it was strange being that I had transferred my FID (which the Dept ran a background check and ask me no Questions about the incident.)after buying my home in the town and had bought rifles with no problems. Needless to say I appealed the decision on my own without a lawyer (which I got very lucky the guy before me made the same case and won with his lawyer) and the denial was overturned. The judge said since I went through the State of NJ Intoxicated Driver Program and they (the state) deemed me not to be an alcoholic and that the matter was incidental she saw no reason for the denial to stand. She over turned it and gave me a fancy letter signed by a Superior Court Judge saying I could not be denied in the future for this matter. The Detective was cool and said he would put a note in my file and sort of apologized for the inconvenience. My question is even with the letter and supposed notation in my file do I have to check yes for being denied? or is that now null and void because of winning the appeal? The reason for the long drawn out story was because I found a lot of help on this sight to make my case but nothing specific so I hope this helps someone in the future.
  2. When you point it out like that your right. I didn't really have a feeling on them one way or another. I have never had the opportunity to fire any and from what I have read and or seen they seem to be some what of a novelty. But Ray Ray has a point. If you give them one they will them take all.
  3. Politics is all about playing the game. You can't win if you don't play. But I do agree getting the number of people together to get the attention of anyone of significance is the problem.
  4. You said it! Why the hell would you want to do that? If you want to get rid of it so bad PM me.
  5. They already had cops in the school according to the mayor. We had cops in our high school and it was actually kind of cool. It gave you an opportunity to have a relationship with the police as opposed to the us vs them mentality.
  6. I received an email back from a guy name Dean, he gave me the impression that you did not need to personally know a sponsor.
  7. The point is your one letter doesn't mean much if anything. But if every member on this forum, their wives, children of legal age, and friends send letters that's a lot of votes. That is all these people care about is votes. Because they can't be bought by special interest if they don't have a job.
  8. As my brother keeps telling me. "Many people say they are pro 2A but they just roll over like dogs as soon as the water gets rough." Sometime I think many people feel someone else will fight their fight but as long as they whine and moan and tell the anti's how stupid they sound they are doing their part. All I can say is if you haven't written them yet. Do it! It is your obligation as an American to take part in the evolution and definition of this country. Writing a letter may sound useless but if officials see an overwhelming response in favor or against something they will consider that because that means votes and votes mean jobs.
  9. The Star Ledger it just sounds like a tabloid magazine. Thankfully I don't have to see that trash down here in the south.
  10. I still cant understand why they made any switch. It cost consumers so much more money... Thats why it cost consumers so much money.
  11. I could have swore my brother in law has a Bushmaster and thought I have seen them forsale locally. I could be wrong I am not familiar with AR's other than shooting one one time.
  12. Read an article today were shop owners were told up to 6 months. Not sure what manufactuers they were speaking off but the article also said they manufactuers clamied they were hiring more employees and purchasing tooling to keep up. To me that sounds like a good think aside from the long wait for stock.
  13. With all of the negative publicity surrounding Bushmaster, do you think they will be banned by name?
  14. Thanks. I have never shot clays mainly because I have no idea of the proper protocol nor do any friends. It looks like a lot of fun. Drawing from a holster would be a nice plus.
  15. I am looking for some info on the club as far as what the members are like, if it is crowded, ect. I live in Deptford and am not a big fan of Hauges prices or attitude. Basically looking for a range for rifle and pistol.
