  1. well yeaaaa..... not a single one of those things you highlighted has anything to do with being mentally deficient.....but the powers that be, and shrinks can twist any on them to make one appear as such. shit........google irving klaw. i doubt i'm the only person here that knows who he was........they tore him apart due to what he did......and he didn't do anything wrong, or even half as bad as what we see today. BTW......there's such a thing as people that enjoy straight jackets too, lololol. i'm sure a shrink would have a field day with them.
  2. NO. i asked that question in all seriousness. there's an article out there somewhere detailing how shrinks(i dunno how to spell their professional name) can pretty much define anyone as mentally deficient, and there isn't any set standards. if we don't even go there.......look to our justifiable need to see where the mental screening thing will end up. like i said before......being gay, liking guns, liking racing, liking hunting, liking boxing, liking women in high heels and leather or latex......those ALL can be used to determine one to be mentally deficient........yet not a single one of those makes you a danger to yourself or anyone else. letting them set a standard for us to exercise our rights isn't just a slippery slope......it is a teflon coated icy slope. even the fact that right now, as the law stands, people can be refused.....or at least horribly delayed simply at the whim of the chief of police. we're much better off having our freedoms with some risk, then to give up any of our freedoms in hopes of eliminating this risk. i'll add a couple things. while the news media makes it look like mentally unstable people are running amok killing people......in just a couple years, the airbus line of aircraft has taken more lives than mentally unstable people with guns. people with cars. people with household products. etc.
  3. i seem to recall wash. twp nailing a some politician a year or two back.....supposedly dui on rt168/42
  4. yea...they have ideas where to look....but they by no means know where everything is. not even close really. look at all the 80% lowers just as an example
  5. who gets to certify the doc? who gets to set the standards to certify the doc? who sets the standards for "crazy"?
  6. i am certainly glad that all of these illegal laws prevented this guy from getting his hands on any guns...... One of two gunmen in a Garland, Texas, attack on a cartoon contest featuring images of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed has been identified as Elton Simpson, a federal law enforcement source told CNN's Susan Candiotti. The source said Simpson, who along with another gunman was shot dead by police, is thought to have sent a tweet before the attack with the hashtag #texasattack. "May Allah accept us as mujahideen," the tweet read in part. Simpson was well known to the FBI, the source said. He was convicted in 2011 of making a false statement involving international and domestic terrorism and sentenced to three years of probation, court records show. Simpson told FBI agents he had not discussed traveling to Somalia to engage in "violent jihad" when he had, according to an indictment reviewed by CNN. The FBI says that its agents are at an apartment complex in Phoenix where the two gunmen lived.
  7. there is no money in curing the disease, only in treating the disease. so........if all of these illegal laws were rescinded tomorrow, tell me? what would nra, anjrcp, and all the others do?
  8. also......if they win the "unwinnable" states like this.........that makes nearly all other battles that much easier.
  9. i've said it before, and i'll say it again. if you trust someone to walk amongst those you care about, and you...then you should be able to trust them with a firearm. if you can't/don't trust them to walk amongst those you care about....then they should never have been let out of prison.
  10. so they set the standard, and they get to pick who you'd have to see to be certified. i don't see any problem with that. (sarcasm)
  11. you smoked pot in highschool? you drank in highschool? you got into fights? you got suspended? you got divorced? you boned a dude in college? you wore a dress? you hate people that boned a dude, or wore a dress? you like women in leather? there are people that view all of those things as a form of mental illness. think about that.
  12. the problem comes with who gets to say who is mentally ill? who gets to set and/or change the standard/definition?
  13. i don't think it would be a waste of money. this state doesn't have the funds to fight a well mounted challenge.....which the nra could do should they be so inclined.
  14. if you've made a deviation, in theory, no one should even ever know you've got your guns.
