  1. Maybe take over one of the closets in the house. I'm sure the wifey would love that. Lol
  2. I was considering a pair like this for a loaner build i'm working on.. do they lay "flat" or do they have a slight pitch to them like the MBUS do? and do you normally have them up or folded? The one thing that keeps me from buying them is the thought of having to come completely off target to flip up the sights if my optic fails or if i want to use the Iron sights.... what is your experience so far?
  3. They have larger versions there... not sure how big of a safe you're looking at.. lol.. but may be like RB's said.. maybe you should go for an addition to the house... the "ARMORY" wing. now the next thing i have to order is a dehumidifier for the safe.
  4. They have it at ShopRite in Somers Point NJ. saw it the other day. The Canada Dry Cranberry Ginger ale is pretty tasty too!
  5. I use these and i have to say they do the job just fine when plinking. Ear Pro By Surefire 4 Sonic Defender Ear Plugs
  6. I have bought a few questionable items off amazon but since i am a prime member and try to use my membership to it's fullest, i've never had a problem returning an item. Glad you got things taken care of.
  7. just gave a buddy of mine a call who delivers appliances for a living. Hopefully he'll be able to let me borrow the hand truck and give me a hand as well.
  8. Just got my Bighorn Gun safe from Costco delivered. I have to say. I am impressed so far! The question is how am i getting this bad boy up the steps out of the garage..... i may have to call my brother inlaw and a few friends Here is the safe i bought: BIGHORN 19ECB DIGITAL GUN SAFE just under $650 delivered to the house... and since i had $200 in gift cards, i got her for about $450ish. I'll post some pics of it stocked when i get a chance. it's Still in the wrapper!
  9. I just ordered another stock for an Umbrella build i'm doing... I have to say i'm very happy with the overall feel and look of the stock.
  10. I was told by the guys at BANGERs that ANY out of state firearm that comes in to NJ MUST go though a NJ FFL to confirm it's Compliancy in NJ. The reason behind this is, an out of state FFL may not fully know what is and isn't legal in the destination state. If you were to buy a Rifle in PA that was not ban compliant and the FFL let you leave with it because it is Legal in PA. once you bring that non ban compliant rifle over the bridge, you broke the law. shipping from FFL to FFL then to customer "checks and confirms" the compliancy of the rifle. It also "logs" it in to the database. I was also told that ANY out of state Firearm (pistol or rifle) transferred into the State requires the buyer to go though a NICS. maybe they were wrong... I am by far no authority on the matter.
  11. What did he do? get the bear in a headlock and POP a few rounds in his ear hole? That just crazy. I would imagine that .22 rounds would be like those annoying gnats that swarm your head at a BBQ to a bear.
  12. based on how things are now. If he is a resident of PA and you are a resident of NJ. You would have to have the rifle shipped in from a PA FFL to a NJ FFL. Then you would have to pay the transfer fees and a NICS check. The rifle would have to be NJ compliant when it gets here or the NJ FFL will not release the rifle to you. That's the quick and dirty version of it.
  13. I ordered a set of the dueck Sights last week. when i get them in i'll post up a quick review. I like the idea of just twisting the rifle slightly to use the back ups. I can stay on target and get my shot off a little quicker.
  14. John is a good cat! I havent had any work done yet but he seems like he knows his stuff and is a good mechanic. I had a chance to chat with him for a bit last week during a purchase meet up. I plan in brining my truck in for some suspension work soon.
  15. It's really personal preference. I just like the way a free float system looks. IMO the lines of the rifle just look cleaner. im not a huge fan of the quad rail but until i can get the dynacomp off thr quad rail will have to do... Ultimately I would rather the spikes SAR system. Just looks hot!
  16. Thanks for all of the replies.. Lots of good info here. I will most likely keep the upper I have the way it is. Maybe upgrade the hand guards to quad rails... If I can find someone to take the dynacomp off I would go with a Bar rail and ditch the fsp. Thanks guys!
  17. So I have thought myself in to a corner... for the past few days i have been toying around with the idea of switching from my 14.5" mid-length Spikes upper and going with a 16" mid-length system... I've talked to a few friends and everyone has something good to say about each. I'd like to pose the question to the forum and see what a few other people have to say about either system i'm thinking about going/staying with. What are the overall benefits of the longer 16" barrel vs. the 14" barrel and is it worth the extra scratch it's going to cost me to upgrade my System? Set up 1 (Current): 14.5" Spikes Barrel MID LENGTH Gas System Dynacomp extreme Spikes BCG w/charging handle Magpul MOE hand guards or Spikes 9" BAR free float rail system FSP/gas block combo Set up 2 (possible change to) 16" Spikes barrel MID LENGTH system w/micro block Dynacomp Shorty Spikes BCG w/Charging handle Spikes 9" BAR the rifle will be my "EVERY DAY" shooter. I'm looking for accuracy and ease of shooting in tight quarters situations as well as up to 200 yards. My Umbrella will be the long range shooter. this is the upper i have now: and this is what the upper would look like if i were to switch (note it would have the mid-length gas system): thanks Zap
  18. I believe you will need a carbine length buffer tube. I had to replace mine going from the longer ACE skeleton stock. See photos in my post above. So if you have the "standard" m4 style adjustable stock you should be ok.
  19. My bad. The auto correct on my laptop changed it. Thank you for the correction!
  20. Nah. I returned the "rental" gun bag back to Dicks when i got home. It was like 46" long or something like that... i could fit a surf board in there. lol I got this one last week and aside from a few upgrades i'll do for a few bucks.. i am pretty happy with it so far. I'll post more next week on it after i get to use it on the road and at the range. You know you miss the Spikes!
  21. Here is a quick review of the Blackhawk! Sportster Modular Rifle Bag Here is the link incase the embed doesn't work: http://youtu.be/pYNi7tkUohY Overall i'm happy with it. I will add some chloroplast boards on the outer walls to add some rigidness and order some more straps.... I'll have to give the zipper pulls some thought. not bad for the $64 it cost me... Anyway... sorry for the poor video quality. shot it with my iphone. anyway.. hope this helps someone thinking about getting this bag.
  22. If anyone was wondering.. the MOE Fixed stock is the same as a Standard Carbine stock in the #2 position. Here is a photo of it on my spikes and under you will see a PSA lower with the stock out in the 2nd position.
  23. For the most part it's like having a stock pinned at the second position.
