  1. Yeah yeah yeah. Robert Kraft may have purchased the Patriots... but the Giants own them! Pick on the Jets, they're more your size ; )
  2. I despise Philthy with every ounce of my being (the Crygirls and Foreskins too), but I gotta admit, that was good! But now back to reality..... F the Eagles! : P
  3. Yeah, I recently read a statement like that about the Spikes lower (maybe the same exact statement? I don't really remember where I read it now). It seemed like an odd statement that was made without any expressed basis for making it though, so I remain confused as to the dig on the "popular belief" about the Spikes lower. If anyone can shed some light on that, I'd appreciate the knowledge. I purchased my Spikes lower due to the perceived quality that many had expressed here, and I never encountered a contradictory opinion on that at the time. So are there two schools of thought on the Spikes lower? I'm here to learn, so I'd definitely appreciate some perspectives from both camps.
  4. ....and that's just the Eagles fans eating their own! Btw, Eagles fans hate the Eagles more than Giants fans hate the Eagles. Don't try to make sense of that.... it's just a Philthy thing.
  5. Maybe not. Skirts a bit close to his own mode of trasnpo...
  6. Nanny Bloomberg would have a field-day fining all of those code violations. But speaking as a non-Mayor/non-Dbag/Leggo-lover..... that puts all of my childhood Leggo efforts to absolute shame!
  7. Admit it... you like to search for parts based on a sort order of "Highest Price to Lowest Price", don't you? ; ) Don't get me wrong; it's not like I'm envious or anything. It's just that I can't stand your guts. : P All kidding aside, I can't wait to see pics of this rifle once it's all tricked-out!!!
  8. Ok Eastwood... if they ever get this thing started, I'm hoping that your kicker is idle except for either the 1st or 3rd quarter kickoff... period! : )
  9. How psyched are you right now! : P Enjoy the build bro, because before you know it, your rifle will be fully built and then you'll find yourself once again wanting to bang the crap out of the credit card trying to give birth to another one ; ) Btw.... whatever part(s) you are looking to add next, be sure to simply mention it here. These guys are so on top of this stuff, so they will find you multiple deals like it's magic! Just be sure to do a little bit of research on your own afterwards so that you can learn a bit (or more) about what it is that you will(?) be buying. And whatever you do, never lose sight of the fact that you are building "your" rifle. Otherwise you'll start buying whatever is mentioned first... and then you'll end up in a position where you might as well have gotten a ready-made rifle off of the rack - and your build will no longer be your rifle. It's ok to trust those who prove themselves trustworthy here, but be sure to take the time to LEARN about the parts that go into your rifle. It'll help you to appreciate it more in the end. Enjoy the ride!
  10. I wish! But you're probably confusing Midland Park with Woodland Park, even though there is absolutely no similarities whatsoever to the names ; )
  11. That really is an incredible view. Especially from that far of a distance from the city. So anyway..... when you say that you're moving, I assume that you must mean within the state. I'm sorry that you aren't escaping, but Welcome from a low-lander no-view Bergen guy.
  12. The Grammar Nazi called. He said it's apostrophe + t.... and to please turn in your Spelling Police badge immediately. As for the topic.... Does Dicks sell only the ammo that applies to the rifles that they sell there, or do they also stock 5.56 there too? Although maybe I should be more store-specific, since on a recent visit to the Paramus store I didn't really notice any rifles that shoot 5.56 there (then again, I wasn't there for rifle gear, so I only did a quick drive-by past the gun counter). Anyone know about the Paramus store specifically?
  13. I wasn't actually ready for this type of purchase yet for two main reasons: 1) a lack of knowledge about optics 2) I had planned on giving my cc a bit of R&R for a while ...but I went ahead and pounced anyway. However before doing so, I did a quick sweep through the internet looking at prices on this optic, and I found that the price really is quite good. Therefore, that's a good heads-up Krdshrk. (admittedly my cc isn't really liking you very much right now, but a deal is a deal) As for my lack of knowledge (deal or no deal), I've learned to trust those who have proven themselves to have steered me in the right direction in the past, so checko's nudge was enough to cause me to go for it, and then Arbelest (the quiet one) made me feel a bit more confident after I had already made the purchase. Therefore this will be my first optic, and I will learn from here and see how it goes. Ok.... but please.... no more enticing deals on gear for a while! (or at least until the weekend is over). : )
  14. I actually just got the Magpul XTS hand stop. I figured that I'd give it a test drive to see how I like it. I had considered the AFG too, but I had learned to shoot with a flat hand, so I didn't want to mess with what had always worked for me in the past. Are you liking your AFG? Oh.... and I had enough rail left for the XTS. But now I'll need a bit more for the light, so thanks for the screw info.
  15. The "forced" patience may actually serve you well. It might also have you bouncing off the walls (I know that I would!). But a slow and steady compilation of parts is probably beneficial in the long run. I'll look forward to seeing your progress when it finally starts going together. It's fun putting these things together!
  16. Ok. I'll investigate to see if I can determine the size. Thanks for the info about the Magpul system. I learned something new today.
  17. Gotcha. Thanks for expounding on Barms original statement. All cleared up in my brain now ; ) Any idea on the size of the bolt (does Magpul actually use a bolt, or is it really a screw?) that would be needed?
  18. Oh ok, I see. Magpul makes less expensive rails. So it's the Magpul rail sections that require a longer bolt to attach to the handguard. I got twisted around on that point due to the inclusion of the AFG being mentioned. That's sort of a minor inconvenience anyway I suppose, since the carbine sized handguard doesn't offer much rail space for mounting anyway. And aside from the necessities, I'm not imagining a situation where I'm stacking my handguard with gear after gear along it's 4 lengths anyway. Btw, why are the 2 designs not standard compatible? Any idea?
  19. Umm.... Ok. Thanks! Wanna be my agent?? ; ) Diamondhead drop-in handguards have a modular rail mounting system that functions just like any pre-configured extended quad rail setup, so I'm not really understanding what you mean by short bolt issues causing ancillary gear from mounting onto the handguards without using longer bolts. So far the only limitation that I can see is that the carbine length drop-in handguards have more restrictive handguard/rail space availability due to it's overall shorter design. But other than that, I'm not following why longer bolts would be required for adding Magpul stuff to it. Which items specifically are you referring to bolting directly to the handguard? Isn't the AFG rail mounted? (that's a serious inquiry, and not meant as a challenge)
  20. I agree I agree and I agree The beauty of the rail system is that ancillary gear can be mounted or unmounted according to the purpose. And in my opinion, that's what makes these AR's so freakin hot in the first place.
  21. Damn you Krdshrk!!! : P That said.... if anyone has any experience with any of those (well... not the $400 one! Too rich for my budget right now) then please share. And btw, my eyes aren't as spry as they used to be, so I'm thinking that I'll be needing some magnification for distance. I figured I'd mention that in case it factors into the equation. (freakin' Krdshrk trying to spend more of my money and preying on my weakness of being an impulse buyer!)
