These seem to be two of the most popular velcro options out there. It would be for a soon to be picked up Mossberg 590 with a 18.5" barrel intended mainly for home defense. Any opinions, comparisons on these products would be appreciated.

Great American Outdoor Show - Harrisburg
samtechlan replied to Haddoncoach's topic in Events & Meetups
Can you buy firearms or ammo at the show? If so how do prices compare to, say, the Oaks gun show? -
Understood but this new variant is still a pump, which I think is part of the appeal--it's not that radical a departure. What I meant to say is that the DM versions might overtake the magazine tube versions at some point. I don't see it happening but it's possible.
-
If the DM shotgun (and the Mossberg version to come) prove to be big hits it might be possible to buy a traditional pump action for a song.

In Fla I've always carried a snubnose 642 in a kramer pocket holster without any issues. I agree anything iwb with the heat and humidity is a pain.

Looking for a pistol range - some requirements
samtechlan replied to otebear's topic in Ranges & Gun Shops
I have been to both RTSP and GFH and I find the sound level better at RTSP which is why I go there even though GFH is closer to me. -
They are also cheaper than the fancier ranges.

One in the "chamber" 5 more in the cylinder. Love them revolvers.

Thank you both for the suggestions. I will be sure to inform the gunsmith that it is a gun for HD/SD Pizza Bob. That is a very good point.

I would like to have an action job done on my 686 with 2.5 inch barrel. I would like to have the action be as smooth and light as possible while still being 100% reliable with all types of ammo. The big names like Grant Cunningham always seem to be booked for months/years and I would probably prefer someone relatively local. I am in norther NJ but would not mind driving1.5 hours plus to drop off. Thanks for any suggestions.

Other than the ability to carry in PA does the Utah permit have any other advantage over the Fla one?

A few words on my experience today at Ottomanelli's...

Always great to hear about a positive transaction with good people. What NJ compliant muzzle brake/comp did you put on it? -
I don't know about that, Texas is kicking butt right now and it's not just oil, so the money is also "there". OP you are doing a great thing for your son.
-
I guess the only reason would be if one is set on a mid-length gas system which Colt does not offer.
-
I understand but aside from the tax issue the transfer would then be legal. This is an important issue for me at this moment because I have an upper at an FFL in PA who is pinning the muzzle brake and removing the bayo lug to make it nj compliant. I am also looking to buy a complete lower on Black Friday that I plan to have sent to him for the pinning of the stock and the transfer.
-
This law is the dumbest.
-
What if the shop in PA has a complete lower with stock and you send them your complete upper and they put it together before transferring it to you? At that point aren't they transferring a complete rifle to you?
-
I picked one up during the summer for $1,200 so I'll pass on this. There is an NJ compliant Colt from the factory but they are hard to find.
-
A lot of vendors will not ship a non nj compliant rifle into NJ even to a NJ FFL. When I bought my Cot 6920 Magpul edition over the summer (for $1,200) I had it shipped to a PA FFL who did the compliance work as well as the transfer. I picked up the rifle from him in PA. I can give you my FFL's info if you want. He is in Bucks County.
-
Of course it'll cost you a bit more to make it NJ compliant. http://www.gtdist.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PartNumber=Colt-LE6920

It is not even out yet but from the picture it looks like it might not pass the pinky test. Any thoughts? http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_282/239312_Dynacomp_V2.html&page=2

That is the way capitalism is supposed to work! Competition creates the best product/service. I agree with the general positive comments about Bullet Hole.

You are absolutely right, plus the the 14.5" is a true lw pencil barrel while the 16" is an "optimum profile" so you do save a few ounces there in addition to the 1.5" in barrel length. One factor that made up my mind is that I probably would have switched out the BAR rail. While everything I read says that it is a great rail it is really too large for someone with small hands.
-
I was really torn between waiting for the 14.5" lightweight upper to become available again or going for the one below which was available a couple of weeks ago. I ultimately ordered the 16" upper and it is now sitting at my FFL's waiting for me to decide on a brake to make it NJ compliant. Still debating whether to go with a battlecomp or dynacomp. u are here: Home > Search > Spikes Tactical 16" ENHANCED CHF 5.56/.223 URG Spikes Tactical 16" ENHANCED CHF 5.56/.223 URGFREE Shipping on this item in the 48 States!
