  1. State Senators will write back. I'm not 100% wrong. Though a letter is probably better than an email. Short of requesting a meeting, how are you going to corner your legislator? And actually I did discuss a bill. The one she just co-sponsored.
  2. Yes. We are. And our agenda is to saves lives. Though it's too late for Carol Bowne. It's not too late for who might be next. So they can go *#^ &* themselves. To put it politely. And what Anti Gun slime is saying this Johnny?
  3. I'd like to but with the commitments I have, it ain't in the cards right now. The banging on the door part. But I can call her and possibly others. Also, email is better. It's a written record they can't ignore. Banging on her door may feel better, but it's less effective. Unless there's a 100 of you.
  4. I'll look up who there are. Saved the text so I'll see if I can improve it. I sometimes see Greg Gutfeld and Dana Perino on my way home by Fox News. I'd have no problem asking them to look into this story. Maybe will see them or someone else before 'The Five' goes on the air. Hit or miss thing. Edit: Assy Pub Safety Committee... 5 D's 3 R's Law and Public Safety Mainor, Charles - Chair Wilson, Gilbert L. - Vice-Chair Danielsen, Joe McGuckin, Gregory P. Peterson, Erik Pinkin, Nancy J. Rible, David P. Sumter, Shavonda E. Senate Pub Safety Committee... 3 D's - 2 R's Law and Public Safety Greenstein, Linda R. - Chair Barnes, Peter J. - Vice-Chair Bateman, Christopher Holzapfel, James W. Sacco, Nicholas J.
  5. And then he would be demonstrating why we need CCW. But... you could just play this as loud as you have to....
  6. Having thought about, this could have become the BEST restaurant experience ever......
  7. I wrote an email to Senator Jennifer Beck. Covered a lot of what has been said here. The gist of my email was..... I told her that the disregard for the law by PDs has to stop. Who is next to die waiting for a permit? Who already died while waiting but no one realized they were waiting for a permit? We demand that our reps fight for our rights and hold those responsible for this accountable. It's not that only those with protective orders need to be first, we ALL need to have the PDs comply with the law and issue permit in the 30 day requirement. Senator Sweeney and the Berlin Twp PD have Carol Bowne's blood on their hands. It has to stop. Prioritizing some isn't the answer. PDs have to follow the law. She needs to help fix this. Wondering what response her office will issue. She's a decent conservative politician. Now we'll see if she and others are more than just politicians.
  8. I feel your pain. I'm in NYC restaurants every now and then.
  9. Ya know, brain damage has one prerequisite..... And few dems meet it.
  10. Unreal. I sent email to Senator Dawn Marie Addiego. I basically told her "....prioritization is not what is needed. PDs need to comply with the law. The FBI can respnd in 4 hours to background checks. Some towns..very few... complete this process in 10 to 14 days. Yet others take MONTHS. They use the same system. There's no legitimate explanation. Towns choose not to comply with the law, at the expense of the citizens of our state. A woman is dead. She didn't need to be. We demand that our representatives fix this and hold those who choose not to comply with the law accountable." This is absolutely on the PD in Berlin Township. What was she supposed to do. Not go to work? Hire personal security? A lot of people don't make enough money to hire a guy to cut their lawn. Yeah, the asshole killed her. But he was aided by a police department that ignored their responsibility to service it's citizens as per the law. They are also responsible. Just as if a town was notified that a stop sign was stolen and they didn't bother to replace it for a month. Then some HS kid got killed because someone went through the intersection instead of stopping. Other than the details, it's the same. I don't like the idea of trying to use this poor woman's death as a means to fix our asinine laws. But the reality is, some other woman or man will be in the same situation. It's our own lives we are trying to protect. What the hell good is "Liberty" and "The Pursuit of Happiness" if you're dead? There's a reason the authors put them in that order.
  11. No word from Lloyd yet. Mauro sounds like an opportunist. That happens to be full of himself and probably thinks it's a good idea if you make nice to the bear so it will eat you last.
  12. All the dems have to do is relentlessly claim republicans are blocking common sense laws to keep Americans safe and blame a budget impasse on them. The R's will cower. Most likely outcome with Boehner is they will let it get by and claim this was not to time to oppose it.
  13. Sider... will give a box some thought. If they're light, it has a chance I guess. Rolling covers look decent but I'm leaning toward a solid cover. Both the Fold-a-Covers and Extangs look pretty good. They all have something good. Just depends what you want it to do... or not do... the most.
  14. If you think you might be able to take it on yourself, and the parts alone aren't too expensive, I bought some dishwasher Samsung parts from this place http://www.repairclinic.com/ Only worth it it you know you can fix it though. Sounds like a big job. I don't know of any places that buy specifically for parts. You might call some mom and pop shops and ask. My guess is that they won't want to invest that much into parts that have 4 years on them. And a comment on Samsung appliances. I'm not too happy with mine. Dishwasher has issues. Fixed it.. Issues remained intermittently. Water flow rate problem. Hard to fix 100%. Now the same DW is leaking. If it's not a hose or something I can fix myslef, it's getting tossed and will buy some other brand.
  15. Those are all nice. It's 6-1/2 ft. So giving up 6 inches won't be a big deal. Extang has a tonneau fold up model that would let me keep it on when the bikes are on the bed. The Roll n Lock is pretty much the same situation. It only takes up about 6 inches. I like their Cargo Manager. And the BaK-Flip lets you flip all the panels up and it looks like it has friction locks. Not sure if meant to drive with it up though. Will have to ask them. A lot of choices. The Extang Solid Fold 2.0 is nice. Was thinking about the knife deal. Wasn't planning on leaving important stuff overnight or parked in a shitty location, but nice to know it would be a major hassle for some jackass to get into the bed. Only down side is to get access to whole bed, you have to take the hard cover off. But taking it off looks easy. Easier than loading 225 lb dirt bikes. Fold-a -cover stuff looks good too. Siderman, a box would help but I'd need to remove it to fit our dirt bikes. And I think the box will block the front cleats I have to use to secure the bikes. So for what I need to do, a cover is probably better. Thanks for the choices. Now I have a lot to think about.
  16. Anyone have an opinion on lockable bed covers? Like the Diamondback covers advertised here lately? Not a cap. Hate caps. I'm looking to put a cover on my Tundra. I want to use it so I can throw stuff in a cargo tray I'll put in the bed and lock it up rather than in the back seat. It's get crowded in the cab when you have 3 or 4 people in it and need to take stuff along that you don't want exposed to anyone walking by, or the elements. I want to be able to remove the cover without killing myself when I need all or part of the bed opened up. Like if I'm transporting dirt bikes. But I'll also use it for gun transport since it's a pain in the ass to get 4 long guns, ammo and other stuff in the back seat when I take the kids shooting. Keeps them out of sight which can't hurt. ...the guns out of sight... Not the kids... They don't have to ride in the truck bed.... Main issues are how easy to open and remove and how secure it is. If anyone has either good or bad experience with a particular cover, that would help a lot. Thnx.
  17. The funny thing is though, this area, with the exception of El Freehold, is primarily conservative. I'm wondering how many of the members actually support Sweeney? If this area is similar to your area, based on what you wrote above about Mauro, maybe they don't align themselves with the NJOA on that particular issue. We'll see. If there are enough Mauro supporters I may get a cold reception. Maybe not though.
  18. The Monmouth chapter of the NJSFSC says they are the birth place of the NJOA. Maybe someone at that meeting could help. I'll ask. But with this... I don't see it happening. From his statement about the endorsement of all of the D's in District 3.
  19. Hmmm.... Woodchuck are in season for bow, rifle and shotgun... Thinking going "Burt Reynolds" style and bringing my compound bow along ...... who ever makes a pig sounds get an arrow through the eye socket....
  20. Meeting place is about 10 mins from my house. Not easy to find. It's in the middle of about 5 sq miles of forest. Next to Turkey Swamp WMA.
  21. Ok. I'll email the secretary and let him know that information about the recall is also being shared at other chapters' meetings. Btw: what information do you want shared? I haven't seen any material other than the pages of the website. I could print something with the site address and basic info about the recall and the event on the 27th. ...NVRMND... Re read post #1. Got it.... EDIT: email sent to Lloyd Davis. Let him know what it was about, that I wanted to speak briefly about the recall effort and if they allowed it, leave some info behind with anyone interested. Mentioned that an officer from a north jersey chapter asked for help contacting other chapters, which is how I got involved. If he wants to know who that was I'll pm you. Gave him my name and contact info so it wasn't some anonymous email.
  22. I took a look at Monmouth County. They meet the 4th Weds, which is the 24th this month. As far as speakers go, the say they want 30 days notice. They also mention they don't donate to or endorse political candidates. I get the feeling they might be very apolitical. Probably worth it to email the secretary and ask about it. I can do that. Their next meeting is 3 days before the recall event in South Jersey. There won't be much time to filter down the word to the member clubs in this county.
  23. Good for Vince. A voice of reason in a sea of idiocy that is Hollywood.
  24. From what my wife tells me..... Tom Petty Kid Rock ... don't knock it till you see it. He puts on a really good show. More American flags waving in the audience than any concert I've ever seen. A country singer... not sure who.
