I think it's always a mistake when they don't quickly disclose the cause in situations like this... it just fuels rumors. I'm guessing we'll find out soon enough. It will be near impossible to keep that kind of info clamped down. Then again, we're talking about NJ media, so you never know!

OK, I did a little research - answered my own questions. Gosh!! This sounds like a very non-partisan, scientific and even-handed group addressing our Constitutional Rights! /sarc off

Jennifer Chuang - pediatrician in Paterson at St. Joseph's Medical Center, who according to her Facebook page is "outspoken about healthcare in social justice" - https://www.facebook.com/DrJenniferChuang4NJ/ sooo, a full-fledged SJW from one of the state's most gang-infested cities. So, she's the Member of the American Academy of Pediatrics that the law requires for this Commission.
Jeremy Ershow - A NY lawyer previously appointed my NJ's AG to the Stateside Affirmative Firearms Enforcement (SAFE) office... so, another rabid anti-gun-rights person. Have you ever seen a more stack and unbalanced Commission? What a joke! Any pro-2A person would immediately be outnumbered 6 to 1.

I own an older Ruger 22/45 - it's a REAL PAIN to take down and reassemble (which is why I rarely clean it, lol). My uncle, at a gun show somewhere, knowing that it was a problem... had picked up an after-market gadget that you install in these older Ruger MK pistols to make reassembly much easier. When he presented it to me, we read the instructions closely and, sadly, discovered it DOESN'T work with the "22/45" model I own! Anyway, we both agreed I should just take this mistake and turn it into a pro-2A "pay it forward" moment... so I'm giving this away for free! It's not a pricey item. List price is 20 bucks and I believe he paid a little less than that.
- Please check your model & if necessary, serial number >>> According to the instructions, based on various manufacturing design changes over the years, this fits all Ruger MK pistols EXCEPT: 22/45 versions, MK IV pistols, and some MK I 1965-1969 versions (serial # 334991 and above) and some MK I 1970-1975 versions (serial # 10-58067 to 13-49225).

Goodness! With so many dads and expectant dads in this community, we really can't let this holiday slide by, can we?
My dear dad has been gone a few years now, but there's not a day that passes that I don't think of him. He was the best - intelligent, multifaceted (a true Renaissance Man), strong, a steady provider, a devoted husband & dad, reliable as the day is long - IMO, he modeled what a man should be every day of his life.
Fathers are so very important! Not only do those of us who had good dads present in our lives understand this intuitively and through our life experience, but even the science backs it up! In households without a dad present, boys are more likely to drop out of school, join a gang, get arrested... girls, meanwhile, are more likely to (also) drop out of school, be sexually abused, end up as pregnant unmarried teens, etc. A good dad stands as a quiet sentinel in a family - keeping trouble at bay. In a day and age where we hear ad hominem attacks on "toxic masculinity", and men, frankly, get trashed right and left on social media... I think it's appropriate that we acknowledge how much good men actually bring to the table. Father's Day is a great day to do that. So...
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!
If your dad is still with us and tried his best to be a good dad, I hope you either spent some time with him today or gave him a call (and the day is young, it's not too late). And if your dad is no longer with us, then send him your good thoughts in Heaven. I know he'll hear you.

Another informative show... I like to listen to these on Sunday afternoon along with a couple of 2A YouTube favs while doing routine stuff like housework... allows me to stay focused on what you're saying while also getting some mundane things done. Win-win! I share your disgust over the new tracking of carry permit holders. It's so ridiculous, I can't help but roll my eyes. There is OVERWHELMING evidence and alignment between credible studies on this issue from TONS of different studies - Federal, State, private universities & think tanks, etc. - they ALL show the same damn thing >> repeat offenders/felons are the problem, contributing the lion's share of armed (and unarmed!) serious crime. It's like a universal law.
This continued targeting of legal gun owners could NEVER actually impact crime stats because they contribute such a ridiculously scant amount of armed crime in the first place. There's just zero logic, and zero real world evidence to support any of the gun controllers' major efforts such as this latest joke by the AG. It's all politics rooted in fear and manipulation. It would be hard to take these people seriously - except, we must, because they have the White House, the entirety of the Democratic Party these days, and most of the press, all in their back pocket, not to mention their hysterical, willfully ignorant minions in groups like Moms Demand Action.

And yes, @W2MC - I do hear you! Every time I convince myself - "I can't do this... I just have no aptitude for shotguns"... I'll pick up someone nice light and/or short shottie and I'll hit a few in a row and THEN I'll think, "hmmm... maybe I CAN do this...". I've been going down other expensive rabbit holes lately, but eventually, when I have some extra bucks, I'll look around for a light, compact model and get some practice in with ONE gun. rshmidty6 on the other hand, was one of those people who had a new shotgun, didn't even know how to load it, and yet... he was instantly CRUSHING clays! Some newbies just seem to have that "shotgun aptitude" coming right out of the gate... god bless them!

For those of you who hunt deer... do you get up before the crack of dawn, so you can be ready for them nice & early? Well... stop it! Apparently, Bambi actually prefers to be gently nestled down all cozy-like in the wee hours of the morn... and doesn't even start moving around until 10 a.m. or so (I'm feeling a real deep sense of kinship with deer all of a sudden... My People! ...Fellow Night Owls!)
Anyway, a large Pennsylvania study that tracked them with GPS monitoring implies that some old hunting wisdom may actually be a bit off-kilter. I'm really surprised at just how bad the air quality is here in northern Hunterdon County tonight. I was just out in my car... the scent of smoke was quite heavy in the air, and I was surprised that I could actually SEE the smoke swirling in the light of the streetlights, etc. It honestly looked like a light fog had rolled in! When you think of how far we are from the source of the fires (Nova Scotia apparently) - I'm just amazed at how much it has impacted local conditions. The way it looks and smells, you might think it was only 5 miles away. Mother Nature is really something else! I just spoke with my brother in Freehold, and he has similar conditions down there, too. Apparently, it's all over Northern and Central NJ.
If you have asthma or other lung issues... I'd really try to stay inside until this blows over. Nasty stuff!

Although the topic of this next video has no immediate impact on the ATF case that is the topic of this thread, the lawyer at the Four Boxes Diner YouTube channel seems confident that a recent SCOTUS decision that smacked down the EPA is also likely to be leveraged against the ATF at some point. Long story short, the Supremes are telegraphing through the EPA finding that Fed'l agences have essentially GIVEN THEMSELVES AUTHORITY that they were never supposed to have, and they (the justices) are starting to smack that down! Very interesting video and worth a view IMO:

Even if ALL these various cases move glacially, as you say, through the courts - as so many NJ gun cases have done in the past - in the meantime, law-abiding NJ citizens are at least carrying concealed. Frankly?... I never thought I'd see that day. Did you?
I think this latest chapter - this decision by Judge Bumb - is yet another "win" no matter how you slice it. And the fact that this judge took so much time and turned out such a lengthy and carefully annotated product... makes me think that she KNEW damn well this case would be immediately appealed, and that it would be closely watched by other courts around the country, and she was making sure to dot the i's and cross the t's on this initial decision... so that it would withstand any future appeal process. I think she's going to be JUST as careful when the full case is heard and decided. And yes, the fact that Alito is over that next level court... if these combined cases ever get to that point, well, from my (albeit limited) understanding, it certainly doesn't hurt us!
For years, pro-2A NJ citizens had NOTHING but bad legislation and even worse legal decisions to despair over. But the fact is... the Bruin case DID change things. It gave much-needed "teeth" to the pro-2A side... in the form of clear, compelling guidance on what courts need to do to decide 2A cases... and now we're seeing a series of wins as a direct result. You know, it's ok to crack a smile... perhaps even lift a celebratory glass... at each step we win.

Shout out to @Krdshrk - who met with me last week so I could try some guns, look at some holsters, etc. That enigma holster is certainly interesting. I could see getting one of those down the road - because they would work with skirts or pants without belt loops (which is a "thing" in my wardrobe).
I have a growing realization that my original title on this thread is rather inaccurate (or exaggerated) - although it's certainly a bit more complicated for a woman's wardrobe, it's not so cut and dry for a guy either! I'm beginning to realize that everyone (male or female) needs to adapt in some way to carrying - often with multiple holsters & belts, some changes to their usual wardrobe, etc. I thought women had it a LOT worse... but it's maybe only like 20% worse! I am learning a lot.

If it's NOT a joke... let me give you a woman's perspective: while you hustled on those two jobs to support your family (and all due credit to you, good sir... sounds like you were a great provider)... I notice you neglected to mention that you also paid for a nanny...or a housekeeper? If that wasn't by accident, may I assume that it was your wife who bore the brunt of domestic bliss like: wiping snotty noses? waking up at midnight to soothe a feverish child? changing disgusting, dirty diapers? running kids back and forth to dr's app'ts & after-school events? fixing them an after-school snack and going over their homework? doing the family laundry? cooking family meals? cleaning up after those meals? packing school lunches? cleaning the house? etc., etc. If so, oh, she worked alright! She just didn't work "outside the home". And if your 3 kids are already through college, then I presume you've been married 25+ years? And you think it might be a good idea to just drop THIS on her: "Hey, I've decided to split the money into separate accounts..."???
Oh, goodness... you might want to slow your roll and think that through! Because I can just about guarantee you, that plan will be the equivalent of taking a hatchet to the family you so carefully built over the decades.
Don't get me wrong... I can absolutely see the wisdom of pre-nups, separate + joint accounts, etc. for that new couple (young or old) who doesn't have the history and built-up trust of an established couple. But if you start proposing money changes NOW... at this late stage of your marriage?... I can promise you, she's going to think you've met someone else and you're planning to leave her high and dry. She'll likely be distraught AND suspicious... your kids will undoubtedly catch wind of it... and THEY will be suspicious of you, too (logically, since you're the one proposing the change). Everything you've built - or should I say, the IMPORTANT things - like the respect and goodwill your wife and kids hold for you - POOF! Gone in an instant. For what? If you have tangible, solid, proven reasons to distrust her, that's ONE thing... but to wreck your presumably decent family relations FOR NO GOOD REASON because of what someone wrote on a gun forum... OH, PLEASE TELL ME YOU WERE JOKING!

I'm just curious... I know there are some folks out there who reload ammo for a fee. (And yes, you would have to trust the person's skills imminently, obviously).
I'm not looking for recommendations btw - I'm merely doing some price-checking. What would you say is a reasonable fee per round for precision rifle shooting? (Not the cost of powder/bullets, etc., I'm looking for just the cost of the reloading skill & time that would then be added on top of any component costs).
