  1. Will look into it, thanks. So many options around this price point i am completely lost. I think it'll come down to what i can find second hand at the greatest discount, really.. If i have to buy retail, there are over a hundred at around 300$ to pick from, if not more. I REALLY want an ACOG, and will probably pick one up IF i find one at a decent price, otherwise 800$+ is out of the question for me. Not sure why they are asking 8-900$ For a sight that costs 1,000$ brand new, though. Makes more sense for the higher end units that run at 1400$.. Hopefully i can find one at/under 600$.. Will put it on a credit card if i have to!! (Kidding, i don't have Credit Cards; not a fan of spending $$ i don't have).
  2. Not sure what rifle i bought for thousands... lol I Won a lawsuit for a fair amount of money from a roofer who fucked up a job at said property (roof still leaks just as much if not more); maybe if he pay's i'll have enough to get an attorney involved and sue the state if i get denied. Until i know i have the money to apply and then appeal in court when i am denied, i'm not really in the mood to throw away a few thousand dollars. Do i have it? sure, but i'd much rather have it in my pocket or buy a few more rifles with it than give it away. Or maybe some food and clothes for my child, but who need's that, right?
  3. Gotcha lol. The most expensive rifle i have was about 1200$ from Heritage Guild (Should have bought one second hand, but that's besides the point), and as stated, i was fairly sure that when i paid the 1200$, i'd receive the rifle. On the other hand, spending thousands of dollars for a 1 in 100,000 or so shot (not a statistical number, but it's probably close haha) isn't something i'd really like to gamble on, with having a child and all. NJ Law's suck, so its a huge grey area; if i just worked in my own office that was legally my business (I had a lease, rent agreement, whatever) it wouldn't be an issue, i'd just carry on me when i was there. The problem is, i technically neither own the property nor do i rent any of the units. I Don't think its legal for me to carry at a construction site.. haha
  4. Welcome! I Second Ft Dix (Range 14). I Shoot there, just follow the rules and you'll be fine. Fairly cheap as far as up front costs go (only 65$), but, if you shoot a lot, it adds up (4$/hr/person). I like it because if i join the Jackson range i'd have to pay 900$ up front, plus, they limit guests and what not. Range 14 allows guests up to 3 additional people, but they pay 4$/hour just like you; no need for FID or membership, so i bring my Fiance and friends from time to time.
  5. Was digging deeper, too, and apparently the Psych evaluations cost a ton and the training requires both day and night time shooting with 800+ rounds of ammo? Anyone know if these are true? Seem's like i'll be spending a few thousand dollars just to be denied.
  6. LMAO you guy's are hilarious. This got buried and i didn't see the newer responses. As much as i would like to hire a lawyer and fight to get a CCW, we'd be talking thousands of dollars that i simply don't have; i don't make much working there, i only do it to help my father. Yeah, Clinton liquors is one of the tenants. Its a small world, i guess. What do you do?? Maybe i'll see you around!!! hahaha Was there last month during the one shooting, which is why i'm thinking of tackling this CCW BS... Was a few feet away from catching a bullet, NO THANKS. I have pictures i put on facebook of the incident for proof, too... LOL. Ended up getting stuck there because the police response was so large, i couldn't get my truck out for a good 30 minutes.
  7. Saw something similar, where some folks broke into a warehouse by cutting a hole in the roof and rappelling from there up in Newark. No idea where they got the skill necessary to think of and do that, but my understanding is they got away with quite a bit of inventory. Fortunately my father's property is solid brick/concrete, only weak points are the metal roll up gates/doors.
  8. I believe that is what the state was telling him regarding the inspection they wish to perform. I Could be wrong, of course.
  9. "No one from the state has ever requested or performed an inspection in the 15 years I've owned this property." Re-inspection for what? My understanding is they haven't been there in over 15 years... They now suddenly want to inspect something that has been in violation for 15 years? I Could be misunderstanding or something, haha.
  10. ^Definitely. Don't just let them into your house without knowing what the heck it's regarding.
  11. ^Precisely. If they are given that much time, you've already failed. They'll get in one way or another. IMO beefing up doors and such is just a deterrent for those looking for an easy hit. Someone determined enough, however, WILL get through.. I know this from working in Newark. Have had crackheads break into the building by RAMMING THROUGH the freakin fire door. Also had them pry up and then jack up the front gate on a main road (Clinton Ave)... If they are desperate enough, they'll get in...
  12. ^ BE forums?? Might be interested in an aimpoint w/ magnifier for the right price..
  13. Yeah, they should both be 1:7, as far as i know. I figured as much, but wanted to be sure; i'm not that familiar with DD Rifles, to be honest, and wasn't sure if they were finicky when it comes to what lead goes thru the pipe. Guess i'll find out soon enough.
  14. Hey guy's. Been shooting Wolf 55 grain brass cased ammo with my Sig M400. Picked up the DDM4V5LW the other day from a member on here and am wondering if i should stick with 55 grain ammunition or go with something a bit heavier, like 62 grain. Ordering a 1200 rd case of IMI 5.56 ammunition and am not sure if to get the 55 or 62. What would you guy's suggest? Worst case if the DD does not agree with the IMI ammunition i can run it through the sig m400, but don't want to be stuck with 2,000 rounds of ammunition, none of which is as accurate as it should be with the DD. The Wolf and PMC i have has been fine with the M400, but not sure with the DD. What do you guys think?
  15. If someone shows up to rob your house knowing what they are up against (enough to know to bring along a chainsaw), nothing will help. I have an electric bosch jackhammer that will punch right thru concrete or cinderblock. Hell, a torch/metal saw to the door would do the trick. I Think the idea is to keep your average joe shmoe showing up with a crow bar to steal a TV out. At least for me.
  16. Also, if i had to do something like that, i would definitely do heavy duty steel door with cinder block (Filled with concrete so they aren't hollow) walls. Can do rockboard on the ceiling so its fire resistant and somewhat strong, but that stuff is HEAVY. Definitely a cool idea, but would need a damn good dehumidifier to keep stuff from rusting.
  17. Plywood on the roof. Would have to use a circular saw to plunge cut through it to get thru, and would be a PITA with the clearance between the joists, nevermind that they'd have to get through the floor as well. Downside is it's not really fireproof/resistant.
  18. Yeah, i think it depends from PD to PD. Mine told me to walk across the street and do it immediately because replacing them is a PITA if the original isn't at least somewhat intact. Did mine at FedEx, cost under 2$. I Suggest you do as that guy above said and trim the card a bit (WITHOUT CUTTING ANY INFO) so that it actually fits. I didn't know any better and now mine doesn't fit in my wallet properly. I Put it in the bill area and it's slightly jacked up where it got bent to hell from me opening and closing the wallet.
  19. Crazy how precise such a primitive, basic piece of metal such as a charging handle had to be for it to function properly as a whole, haha.
  20. Where are you located? Maybe another member can meet up with you and lend you a charging handle. If you are near Woodbridge or East Brunswick, i can pull one from one of my AR's and bring it along just to try it out real quick. And i'd assume he meant the charging handle.. If it's bent its no good, lol.
  21. Found a really cheap Burris 332, picked it up for 200 bucks. Not bad at all. Now, i picked up a new DDM4V5LW from a member on here that deployed and never even got to use the thing. Has no sights on it, so i have to decide what to put on it. Thinking something with more/variable magnification. The Barska would be perfect and looks fantastic, but it's a pos. Going to save up and get my hands on something else, maybe one of the Vortex's or Primary arms that were suggested. I'd like to try and find a good deal on a second hand one of these as well, seeing as i didn't even plan on purchasing another rifle and now ended up getting a sight and rifle... haha. Still have to order more ammo, soon, too.
  22. I wish i had space for a gun room. I'd set up a nice workbench and all in there for cleaning, maintenance, reloading, etc
  23. Some Spray foam and for good measure the can of poisonous crap might help. Haha
  24. Wonder what theyll bring. Trying to support Israel as much as possible, would be nice to have an Israeli Built rifle other than a tavor(not a fan of bullpups). I should tell my cousin to get a job there.... maybe i'll get a family discount? Haha
  25. Be sure to research pa and specifically philly gun laws. I believe the laws IN philly greatly differ from PA as a whole. No carry, for example, IIRC.
