  1. The state was just pissed off that they weren't getting their "cut" from the sale, and not getting the opportunity to register a sale of a firearm. The Amish have always had their own "underground" product distribution system, on everything they make and sell, between each other. Wolf was probably trying to flex his muscles and make an example.
  2. That's the biggie.. Many infrastructure control workers shifted to working from home in the Covid crazy, in some cases, using their own computers, which have left the door open for intrusion into the systems, through unsecure computers. Peel might get the chance to experience her "Lights Out" book in real life! A few months ago that main pipeline got hacked in the South East... if more like that spread through important electric, NG, fuel, water systems, it will get interesting. For those on city sewer, just imagine what happens when the pumps get hacked and stopped, and crap ain't being sent down the line. ...

Have you looked at the Bitcoin chart the past year? I'm not so sure that it instills confidence, that many people will jump right in... Gamblers and fanboys, sure... serious investors... hmmmm...
  4. I'm seeing reports by people more familiar with the behind the scenes tech systems, and they're seeing more "outside probings" into critical systems. Concerns are, if things go hot in the Euro theater or Asia theater, it won't just be tanks and artillery doing the fighting. So, first, keep an eye on your bank balances, retirement account balances, credit cards, etc. for possible hacking, inaccess or questionable activity. I saw reports out West last night that some USAA credit and debit cards weren't working. Second, there has been two different reports on critical infrastructure (electric and water) that hackers are looking for an intrusion into a way to shut them down. The fact that these two warnings below have come out recently, means that TPTB think it's a good possibility. Getting power or water shut down to large areas won't be a pleasant thing. ...."WASHINGTON (AP) — Extremist groups in the United States appear to increasingly view attacking the power grid as a means of disrupting the country, according to a government report aimed at law enforcement agencies and utility operators." https://apnews.com/article/business-united-states-law-enforcement-agencies-9e3d1d4d4cd429b69a787235caa7e4b8 ......"Cyber defenses for US drinking water supplies are "absolutely inadequate" and vulnerable to large-scale disruption by hackers, a senior official said Thursday. "There's inadequate resilience to even a criminal sector," the official said. "The threshold of resilience is not what it needs to be." https://news.yahoo.com/us-says-national-water-supply-142023485.html

Mostly fringe companies. When popular places like the grocery store, gas stations, mortgage companies, car loans, landlords, utilities, etc. jump on board, then let me know.

That's the way I always looked at it. Here's a quote from the article. It's a game that always requires new bagholders to enter, and the last one out, ends up with a empty bag. ....."Given that cryptocurrencies don’t produce anything of material value, this enormous waste of resources renders the whole enterprise a negative-sum game. Investors can only cash out by selling their coins to other investors — but only after the miners and various cryptocurrency service providers take the house’s rake. In other words, investors cannot — in the aggregate — cash out for even what they put in, as cryptocurrencies are inefficient by design.”
  7. There's a word for that: Incrementalism That's SOP for the Liberals (if they can pull it off)
  8. Wow, the banding zones on this current prediction are really tight. Depending how the Low moves up the coast, can make a difference in just a few miles, on the coast it's 10 - 16:
  9. The NWS has weighed in with their map forecast tonight. Almost a foot along the coastal areas:
  10. Ha... when I moved "down by the shore" from up North, I figured the same thing. The first two Winters here, we had three storms over 15".... so much for that theory... and, Murphy's Law, my driveway now is much bigger than up North... Or the storms we've had so far this season..
  11. Here's another look at the Euro.... I really hope this time, they're 100% wrong... It seems many of these guys are trying to hold off on final predictions until tonight, to get better data: ....."Rich Bann, a forecaster with NWS in College Park, Maryland, said computer models pointed to heavy snow across New England. He said there's a chance for accumulating snow from the Baltimore–Washington metropolitan area to New York to Boston along the Interstate 95 corridor.
  12. Let's hope this Euro model is wrong (but usually it's pretty close). It has 30" of snow along the coast..
  13. So, the CYA for Friday is starting, which is only two days away... Might be a Nor'easter, might not... could be heavy snow, or maybe not... Either way..... Got beer?
  14. Yeah, but if that million could ever get their acts together, it would be a hell of a wave to march on Trenton... I know... pipe dream....
  15. You would think... But, after all , there's only OVER a million gun owners in the state (so they say), that's just a "small" group.... right, without any power?
  16. Holy crap, just how big is that horse? My dude goes through less than half of that, but I do supplement the dry food with wet food and dinner scraps. Ya know, it's all about priorities. I would starve before I let him starve. And in most cases, dogs are far better animals than most humans.
  17. You already know the answer to that question.
  18. I don't know, it would be really bulky to carry IWB and concealed. It's not a compact pistol. Actually that same holster holds my Ruger SR9C perfectly too. Sometimes, depending where I'm going, but only when wearing a jacket (for the reason above). Other times I might take the Taser or the pepper spray. My primary reason for getting the Byrna is to carry with me in the RV.
  19. When I ordered mine I also got a holster with it. Where did you hear that? https://byrna.com/collections/sd-launcher-accessories/products/outsideholster
  20. It looks like they use the format First initial, Last name. Try this: [email protected] https://jacksontwpnj.net/Directory.aspx?did=16 Also, if you know the name of the officer that processes the permits, check to see if his email link is on that page too.
  21. Not recent, but a bunch of years ago, I lived in Jackson when I did an change of address and applied for permits. When it seems like it was dragging, I sent a really nice email to the Chief, asking for some help and if he knew why it was taking longer than originally told. The next day, I got a call that they were ready to be picked up. Sometimes, these applications sit on a desk, until the officer who processes them, gets around to it. If you go this route, make sure your email is really nice and friendly, and not confrontational.
  22. Yep, and in some instances, using lethal force can really put you in legal jeopardy, and ruin you for life. So. having choices, if at all possible, can really change the outcome.
