  1. People who are at risk due to age and respitory concerns should be extra careful and probably stay home. Political ploy? Context is key. These situations have a way of bringing out the best and worst of people, and it gets more complicated when person A's definition of best is person B's definition of worst. Bull? No more or less than any other virus. This man and his quotes will probably be often cited in the next week or three.
  2. It may depend on how many are popped in a particular area...
  3. Thank you for the link. I missed it because it is password protected.
  4. There's lots of people protesting in Lansing today.... https://wwjnewsradio.radio.com/articles/news/furious-crowd-gathers-at-capitol-to-protest-stay-home-order
  5. I made excellent use of my status of a Pennsylvania resident for long guns prior to a boating accident in my move across the river. New Jersey wants to change that now too...
  6. The bill does make my head spin a bit in that they want to ban the rather inexpensive hi point carbines that were built to comply with the so-called assault weapons ban of 1994, but they are ok with SKS rifles in their original configuration, which apparently includes the Yugoslavian variety!
  7. HR 5717 allows for rifles to have one "evil feature" ... basically the detachable magazine. Sadly, I believe a similar bill is hanging out in committee in the New Jersey Legislature. It also has a lot of other things Booker was talking about during his short lived Prssidential run.
  8. Wow. That is the premium price in my neighborhood!
  9. Pennsylvania is a high gas tax state, but I can't recall the last time that Pennsylvania and New Jersey's gas prices have been so close, if not the same in some areas.
  10. It is an interesting situation because the hospital I work at allows employees to use their own equipment. I still go back to my butt-hurt theory because I wonder that if the employee did it quietly the hospital may not have responded the way they did. Just my theory.
  11. The longer this goes on, the less sense it makes. It is not surprising that New Jersey ranks high on the restriction scale, if I may call it that.
  12. Newark Beth Israel hospital sounds a little "butt-hurt" here. This may sound a little circular, but control issues have gotten out of control.
  13. The governmental thought process is that a bad or ineffective barrier is better than no barrier. Unfortunately, the mask/barrier becomes another thing to not touch that gets touched anyway. I have been to stores where no one is coughing. I don't buy into the theory that there is an abundance of people who are nonsymptomatic virus carriers.
  14. It may depend on the type of mask. I am used to using the non-industrial types in the hospital I work at. Our current practice is to wear them for entire shift unless they break or become visibly soiled. Between uses, we are told to keep them in a paper bag, as a way to keep them covered, but also to keep them as dry as possible. I know there are different time speculations on the life expectancy of the virus, but the drier it is, the less likely it will survive. Given the above, masks can be reused, but under the assumption that the outside of the mask may be, or is contaminated.
  15. The food and fuel control act... passed and signed in 1917 and repealed after world war 1 in 1921. I had to immediately look that one up!
  16. I probably need to read this a few more times, but it appears that it may be a complicated process to be compensated for what the governor takes: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://law.justia.com/codes/new-jersey/2013/appendix-a/section-app.a-9-51/&ved=2ahUKEwiv5uKP18zoAhWHct8KHX05DkoQFjAAegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw3nZLaYX4ZKtvouH2IsWKef
  17. Here's the order: http://nj.gov/infobank/eo/056murphy/pdf/EO-113.pdf?fbclid=IwAR03hLA3qfjOotCUC5i0seY0vMSaZxJnVME9SrAq0lCqJp0P1kgimXMwR_Q
  18. I apologize.... for being 2 years off. In 1768 John Hancock's ship was seized by British authorities. He was accused of smuggling, defended by John Adams, and was not convicted due to lack of evidence. Nevertheless, Hancock's ship was not returned to him.
  19. This reminds me of Boston in the 1770s: https://newyork.cbslocal.com/2020/04/02/coronavirus-nj-gov-orders-state-police-to-commandeer-needed-medical-supplies/
  20. History /ammo purchases repeats itself. I dont shoot much .22 (actually none this year sofar!) but I bought 100 rounds in February for kicks. And now the shelves are bare....
  21. I remember my father going to an Edelman's in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania many years ago... Oh no! :-(
  22. Tanners in Jamison, Pennsylvania is very frendly towards out of state long gun transfers and purchases. As long as you have you purchaser card you are good to go!
  23. I recall Murphy's so-called gun violence round table last year only had people there who supported his position.
