Newtonian 453 Posted July 3, 2013 Gun owners in other states think they have problems. They should visit our state. Maybe take a tour of the shore with top politicians in an armored vehicle. Check this out, from my local paper, on IL concealed carry, and note the bolded text, and how one Illinois legislator described his anti-gun governor: "I think he's playing politics. I'm just saying it like it is," said Rep. Brandon Phelps, a Democratic lawmaker and gun rights advocate from a far southern Illinois district who sponsored the [ concealed carry] legislation." Clearly, when people outside of NJ talk about gun rights they mean something entirely different than what we mean. It's like two different languages. maintenanceguy 510 Posted July 3, 2013 We have a pro 2A democrat senator - Jeff VanDrew from South Jersey. He proposed the bill this year that would have reduced the crime for possession of a BB gun (currently BB guns are firearms in NJ with the same restrictions) and a bill that would have clearly defined what a reasonable diversion is while transporting a firearm. Currently, stopping to pee or going through the drive through could be a felony. VanDrew tried to fix both of these things so there is one good one. I always vote Republican, except for VanDrew. His fellow Democrat, Sen. President Steve Sweeney refused to let these bills be heard and instead pushed the .50 cal ban, FID/DL combination, no more on line ammo sales, no person to person transfers, and requirement to have a permit to purchase a handgun to buy ammo. These are the bills that Krispie Kreme is expected to sign so the Republicans aren't all on our side either.
