What's the deal with the Open Carry challenge videos?

Just trying to understand the motives of people who post these videos. Ostensibly, they're just out exercising their legal right to Open Carry (where allowed), but so many of them look like they're begging for a confrontation -  trying to be in-your-face about it with establishments and cops. To what end? To get internet fame? Perhaps sue someone? I wonder if some aren't created by anti-Open Carry people looking to "raise awareness". I think the bulk of the public shock over seeing people openly carry is due to an unawareness of a given state's Open Carry laws and may only serve to further galvanize the anti 2A crowd against gun ownership.

I open carry every day around people from Jersey and New York. Nobody has been shocked in 6 years. A French couple took notice and a retarded kid that ran around a corner and knocked his face off my gun got startled. That's about it other than compliments and inquisitive conversations.

If I was trying to shock people I would have given up after a month or two, not 6 years of no results.

I had a buddy video me carrying a rifle to a gun rally in the city since there was a strong LE presence and possibly a small chance of jackbooted thuggery. Not some sort of planned escapade, the video was a last minute decision. Everything was fine, of course.

Not going to watch the video but there are areas where people get harassed and take video to protect themselves or try to get policies changed. Cops lie in reports and in court, it's what they do. Video has exposed thousands. We had issues with cops asking carriers for ID about 10 years ago, and thanks to people I know that sued them, all Pennsylvania police are required to have training that open carry does not allow them to detain someone or require ID. It's basically a dead issue in PA now (except Philly). Not all activism is douchebaggery. Some of it is very productive. My life is better because of the champions that came before me.
