Malice4you 627 Posted November 27, 2018 I made up some blocks for a bunch of my existing >10 rd mags, but managed to get some debris into some of the mags for my P226, Sig Pro 2022, and Glock 23. To clean the crap up, I have to remove the grease that was in the mags from the factory. Anyone have any suggestions on what to use? I have Shooter's Choice, and Moly Grease on hand, plus various other non-firearms greases, though I don't know if there is a better option. Since the mags may need to be sealed up permanently, I'm looking for something that would last at least as long as the grease the factory used. GRIZ 3,369 Posted November 27, 2018 The grease in your magazines was probably there to prevent corrosion enroute to you. I have never used grease in a magazine for overy 50 years now. A light coat of lube, CLP, etc is all you need.
louu 399 Posted November 27, 2018 If you have guns they need anything except for springs, followers, rounds and in out unfortunate case blocks, in the magazine, you need to get a new gun. In order words don't put grease or oil your mags.
