  1. shoot them all, but trust the opinions... if many people, including owners say it is junk.... it probly is. fanboys, er benchracers talk as much as they can when they dont own them, but owners will tell you the story. how much is the mosquito anyway? the one I really really love... is the 22a with the bull barrel and high viz sights. Saw njpilot's today and was very very nice.
  2. lets wait for circlesquare to chime in on the sig.
  3. if you come out Tuesday... will bring it.
  4. no clue bud, not my field. thing to consider though, is 2 years from now, when you graduate... what do you want to do? NJ is the place to be for finance, or biotech space. worst case, you can always move. but also, rutgers is not a bad school at all.
  5. use the njgf firearms request form. link on main forum page.
  6. its a handgun, but have you ever felt it in your hand? Cheyenne mountain had one... it answered my questions. I would probly buy one just to say I have it... and at $150 I can think of worse ways of spending money... but given the choice, there are better firearms out there. Hi point customer service is supposed to be top notch though.
  7. they always one way or another get back to basics. was just reading the first page, and I could of sworn we suggested starting out with a 22lr so that you can practice. Out of all the handguns I have, the 22lr would be the last to go because it is my fav, and very very reasonably priced. For a 22lr, I would suggest getting a standalone 22lr, instead of barrel change. Here are your choices since you said you want semi auto. 1. ruger mk2/3 2. browning buckmark 3. Smith Wesson 22a 4. Smith Wesson Model 41 5. Beretta Neos 6. Walther P22 7. Sig Mosquitto. Here is why I chose a Smith 22a for myself. I dont like the rugers because they are tougher to clean. I clean after every outing, so this would take tooo much. Buckmarks are nice, very nice guns, and have one for sale if you want. deadly accurate. it was down to smith/browning. Neos - too new, and tooo skinny of a grip. Also, the color I wanted was tough to find. Walther P22. Nice size, but is not really accurate. It is more of a fun toy rather than a handgun to reallllly learn on. Sig - still too finicky for my taste, and quite honestly, a little expensive for a 22lr. I didnt choose the smith 41 as it is a competition gun, and at 1k... didnt really need it. the smith 22a is a great firearm. very easy to clean, dont need any tools, after first 500 rounds, very very accurate, and no more issues.nicer grip. Having a rail built in on top was a +. Price sealed the deal.
  8. nice, we got one more member of that fabled range.
  9. the most accurate 22lr I have shot was a Browning Buckmark Target model with competition trigger and 7inch barrel. damn accurate, just wasnt as fun as my 22a.
  10. you can buy it, and will ahve it reversed. it is not that easy to get it reversed. as in, not a 5 min job.... more like 30 mins. the rear sight seems fine, still tight, but I use it with a red dot or a scope, so you dont have to use the rear sight.
  11. I understood it the second time reading it.
  12. its great... rails built in, if you come down, more than welcome to shoot it.
  13. My oven actually gets used. Anastasia likes to bake and broil.
  14. have the parts in boiling water outside right now... then will clean it up with a light wool pad.
  15. dont have mineral oils... is denaturalized alcohol ok?
  16. yup. I actually picked up my g22 at Keiffers gun shop by Blue Mountain. It is gorgeous up there when the snow melts.
  17. lol, I did marketing for HP so picked up quite a bit, and shoot alot myself... for a hobby. those imperfections are what makes it a great picture in my mind.
  18. write a letter. =) in today's times, it gets alot more attention.
