1. Thanks, otherwise the design is great. TC
2. Maksim, I believe as Americans with a sight that is all about individual freedom and our liberty we would be better represented by an American weapon. One used to preserve and protect freedom, not one used by one of the most represive regimes on the planet. Its akin to using a MP-40 or AK-47. I guess its also a little American pride showing through, I would prefer a weapon that I carried in the service of our country not the weapon of our adversaries. I was a cold warrior and we always trained to fight the Soviets. I hope this makes sense. TC

hi

Hi yourself I'm in Middlesex as well. I know Edison and Colonia pretty well, But I grew up in Howell. TC
4. Welcome, I have a series 70 Gold Cup, great pistol. TC
5. I like the idea but would prefer an American made gun. An M16 or a Garand, rather then a Russian rifle. TC
6. I was just pricing ammo on line cheaper then dirt is asking $15 for 20 round of Wolf 7.62X39. It used to cost $2.00 a few years ago. Midway is nearly out of ammo. What has happened? Do we have the new administration to thank for this? If we go target shooting we won't be able to restock. This situation sucks. TC
7. When you mentioned the Ma Duece, brought back a memory I was standing in line at the arms room and the dummy next to me dropped a 50 cal reciever on my big toe. Damn did it hurt, only lost the toe nail not broken. Oh did i curse him out. TC
8. Theres one in Woodbridge as well in Woodbridge Center. They have guns and ammo and some shooting supplies. TC
9. Well I was stapling targets up on the range and put the staple through into my finger. Talk about feeling stupid. My Worst gun related injury not involving a discharge happened in the Army. I had just cleaned an M85 50cal Machine gun and was stowing it in the oddments tray in the back of the turret, my hands covered with solvent. The gun got hung up so I hit it with the palm of my hand and caught an open cotter pin and cut my hand badly. The only thing I had to cover the wound was the solvent soaked cleaning rag. Oh did it burn. I popped out of the tank and ran my Sgt. No medics were around so I had a 20 mile ride to the main post hospital. It took 4 stitches to close and right back to the field I went. TC

Ruger 10/22

I have 2 10/22s and have never had an issue. the 10/22T is very accurate and I do not recall ever haveing a jam that was not ammo related. Never had or fired the Remington. TC
11. Welcome aboard, it looks loke we are off to a good start. TC
12. Griz, you got me beat, I got to see the M109s fire and got a tour and demo of the 8inch 110A2. The biggest gun I fired was the Sheridan with a 152mm. Do you shoot at Fort Dix? I haven't been out since last May the itch to shoot is getting over whelming. But I didn't have weekends off until recently. I like the Mosin, but the finish on the wood, the varnish, although real looks like crap. I'm a well oiled wood fan. Like on my Garand. I have to stop myself from stripping it and refinishing it lest i ruin its authenticity. TC
13. I have a Ruger MKII government. It's a great gun in the 45 version as well. The only issue is take down. They are very fiddly to get back together. It gets easier with practice though. You can't beat the Ruger. TC
14. I have to agree with you there it is part of the fun of shooting there. Also if your retired military or in the Guard or reserves its only $30. I spent 20 plus years using the other ranges from range 1 to range 85. TC
15. Not sure what nationality the ammo was but it was Eastern European, but it sat about 4 weeks. I was lazy. It could have ruined my rifle. I guess you learn the hard way. When in doubt clean it right away. TC
16. Glad to be aboard, I have shot the Mosin once so far and it kicks like a mule. Had a scare with it as well, thought the ammo wasn't corrosive and didn't clean it right away. Can you say rust. But after I discovered the crap in the barrel did some emergency cleaning and it looks like no permanent damage. TC
17. Though I have several rifles one of my Favorites is my SAFN-49 in 8mm Mauser. I found it at the Firearms Guild in Rahway. If you get the chance its a pretty good shop. TC
18. So hereis a pictue of mine. She was made in Jan.1945, rebarreled in 1951. TC
19. Hello all, I saw the board in a post on 'The High Road' and wanted to join up with fellow citizens of this Peoples RepubliK  . I'm in Middlesex County and I shoot in Fort Dix. I retired with 27 years in the Army and National Guard. I was a tanker, so I got to fire some pretty big guns in my time. I like to collect WW2 rifles only a few but always keep my eyes open. Last purchase was a Mosin Nagant 1931. TC (Tank commander)
20. I'm retired military and shoot at Fort Dix at the Rod and Gun Club range. Retired and active duty costs $30 a year to be a member. $3 an hour to shoot. I prefer outdoor shooting, its just more fun. The fresh air and the use of a 200 meter range is tough to beat. TC
21. I can't wait to get out myself. My Garand has been waiting all winter. I usually just by long guns do to the permit hassle which seems to get worse every year. TC
22. I shot there a couple of times and bought supplies, but they were too expensive as far as guns go. I sure do hate to see it go though. TC
