  1. I know this is an old topic, hope that’s ok. Having one or both of these rifles would be fun. What’s the latest on who has what?? thanks!!
  2. I think they'll come in time Let the wheels of justice grind slow and fine. What we need to be working towards is the allergic reaction that every SJW, liberal and most union members have with anything Trump or similar. And it’s not really Trump even (though they use him as their battle cry), it’s Congress. It’s the obstruction that they’re trying to create in droves everywhere. Kavanaugh was just a good example of that. Was he really that bad of a guy? No worse than, say, Corey Booker But the allergic reaction to Trump causes a giant mess and battle. The focus shouldn’t be on SCOTUS rulings. It should be on (1) getting back a balance of power in Trenton, (2) getting a balance of representation for NJ in dc, and (3) exposing any and all who are affecting our liberties for their every wrong, the same dirty way the left does.
  3. Bringing this one back from the dead. Given the “ghost gun” laws that I understand advanced sometime back, what’s the current status? if you buy the parts and take possssion in PA, is that an issue? if you do the rest of the drilling/milling in PA, is that an issue? if you put it together and test it in PA, is that an issue? if you bring it back into NJ, is that an issue? If you ordered non-restricted parts in NJ, and put them on is that an issue? Do caliber exchange kits for Sig pistols become part of the concern here? thanks!
  4. We are lot going to like the outcomes regardless, everyone should be demanding answers from their “elected representation”, njsp, county, local police, etc. Like inundation of requests and demands for clarification. Curious if it is possible for the average citizen to sue the bill sponsors and governor for monetary losses associated with this. Like specific, personal losses. Small claims or otherwise. A few thousand cases at minimum from all over. I’m sure there’s some exemption or immunity though....
  5. Half the time it is stated that what happens in CA isn’t relevant to NJ... but then this is news that is good. Wonder how they will play this as precedent.
  6. The real kind, not "everytown's" brand i about puked when I saw a lady wearing an "everytown" shirt that mentioned common sense...
  7. Agree on recouping ALL costs. On the other topic, what you replied to my quote about, I assume that you are not a lawyer well-versed in these things, nor am I. So the fundamental issue is that we are not aware if there is a specific procedure that must be maintained or not. If we are not qualified to provide basis of what happens then it is just speculation That the whole thing could just be thrown out in just one day without a hearing. If you are qualified to state what typically happens in this arena based upon substantial evidence and experience then I apologize.
  8. It's not really a matter of how can this stand, at this point. No case has been closed or decision made yet. The real question is COULD the judge have thrown the whole thing out, or made a decision based on the days commentary... or is he OBLIGATED to take this to formal hearing to make a decision? IMO that's the "color commentary" ANJRPC should be providing donors, especially if they want more donations.
  9. I hope you're right that this is normal. It's not clear to me if this sort of thing does have to be given an acceptable hearing at law (since we know fully that neither side is looking for a "settlement"), or if a judge can make a determination without hearing, on the grounds that the situation is wrong. Effectively finding in favor for one party at the start. If the judge must hear the case to take it to closure, so be it. My first guy wasthat this is disappointing, if not a cash grab by the lawyers, trying to drag it out as SOP. Hopefully I'm wrong in that regard.
  10. That was my curiosity; this was not resolved "at law", possibly on purpose. I was hoping there would be a DOJ letter stating this finding, but I assume not based upon the outcome. And many who are out to ban guns would be too dumb to deconvolute the 3D printing part from the speech/classification part, which I believe is the more powerful portion of the findings.
  11. A month or so ago I mentioned that I'd like to see a well laid out plan, estimated costs, schedules, etc. Easentially lay out a plan of action in a manner like any major program would be managed. Others said how this all has to be close to the vest, how they have to wait until the last minute, etc. etc. IMO both sides know what the other's playbook and planned argument is already. There isn't really much new on either side. So why not actually excite and activate people to fund these lawsuits and expect results. The issue has been that there's as much infighting on the pro-2A side for not being "pro" enough, and at the same time, not enough of a sense of urgency. 28 years as you say...
  12. We will see this judge's interpretation related to that. Not sure having people in the stands is supposed to influence that. Depending whom else is present though...
  13. Sorry, I may not have been clear enough. I meant the pistol permit still needed part. I wanted a Colt and S&W 1917 revolver, but wasn't sure if perhaps I could avoid the hassles to friends, and hassles with expirations of P2P if I didn't find one to my liking, if I had an FFL03. But there has seemingly always been a requirement for NJ residents to have P2P. That's not new.
  14. I was looking into this over a year ago because I wanted some 1917 revolvers. Don't think this has ever not been the case.
  15. To clarify, 100% correct thatbone from NJ can buy FFL03 to 03 out of state outside of NJ regulations? Wouldnt that only apply if one made their residence in a free state, or could justify that they resided in the state of transfer? Thought 03 still had state regulations invoked, which is why P2Ps aware still needed?
  16. Sorry but this whole thread is speculation on a wide variety of things. Modification, what happened during the first ban, etc. Where a notional line is drawn WRT lawsuits and other actions, considering past history, is within the scope of other discussion within this thread. I agree with capt14k's comment that anything infringing should be unconstitutional, but if that were viewed widely as the case, I'd think that big money from free states would be fighting NFA 1934, etc. Maybe they are more than I know?
  17. P2P sucks. But this only really comes up with a private purchase, right? Example: Say a legit FFL01 is selling a WW1 era 1911 pistol on a website. Someone on here now has an FFL03, and an active P2P. Why couldn't signing the P2P be a term in the deal? It's already on the FFL01's books. Now if that changed to FFL03, I assume it would still be the same. As I understand it, FFL03 doesn't authorize a private citizen to FFL 03 across state lines anyway, just 03 to 03, right?
  18. It is my impression that FFL(01?)'s info is readily available via search. That is a bit of a liability, IMO. Is FFL 03 data readily available as well? Makes one a target, not of the government, but of others. The need to still get a P2P is also an issue. The greatest inconvenience is doing that, the worst of all being the need to hassle two friends to reply to your PD.
  19. Is it numbers, or is it anything? Id suppose that one on the issues is where do you start to draw the line in terms of challenges? Is it 10 rounds? 15? NFA of 1934? There's a play on creating a line. That's why they like to use the term "weapons of war" so much. So the question becomes, how far back does the fight go, and at some point do some regulations remain the de facto standard because of longevity?
  20. Sorry, intended meanings don't always come across well on web forums. My discussion was only pertaining to the hexmag. I didn't mean to imply the entire thread. That was specifically because, since there is more than one way to skin a cat, the short spring allows a removable floorplate, in a hexmag, because the riser allows the spring to be supported at the correct level, for a spring of that length to operate with 10 or 15 rounds. Removal of the riser would ruin the mag (at least without manufacturing a new one out of other acquired parts). The riser must be there, no more no less. So it's a 10 round mag, pure and true, with an empty volume attached. Far different from blocking a 20 or 30 rd mag while retaining all the parts intended for 20 or 30.
  21. No doubt there are. Ive seen those blocks sold for all kinds of mags. But were specifically talking about hexmags, and the image shown in this thread clearly shows the differences by capacity. The legality, challenge, or approach for other mags is not the discussion here.
  22. Id argue that to a layperson if the floor plate was removed, it would be unusable. If the floorplate "riser", that takes up the space that the shorter spring can't fit in, is maintained when the mag is put together, thennits still a 10 rd mag. If it is cut off, the spring will fall inside and the mag will be useless. So it will no longer be a functional mag (i.e. It is broken). If someone goes and buys a longer spring, then they are manufacturing or violating the law. Removal of a floorplate is not an appropriate test when the innards of the mag are designed solely as a 10rd version. That's fundamentally different than a full length spring with a mag block inside, which if removed is still a full length/capacity mag. The 10rd he mag would require the acquisition of additional (contraband) parts to become high capacity.
  23. Not being argumentative. But was the "power tool test" put into writing by a body with authority to obligate the state? If not, thennit is not relevant as a test of disassembly or permanence, imo.
