  1. CJRPC is close to where I live, in the same town, and the 24 hr indoor range is not as big or nice as BA or SS, but for free time challenged individuals, it's nice. Was a bit warm when I popped my head in there today. Plus shooting outside is always good, I had forgotten how much better it is than being in an enclosed room. I also did a Garand CMP Match today there, very warm, still well attended. Have never shot a rifle of that caliber or at that distance before. Total M1 noob. They were very good about everything, helpful and patient. I shot with a guy who had his own M1, and he helped me out a LOT. Thanks Frank! For $20 you get 50 rds ammo, a loaner rifle if you need it, loaner mats and jackets and spotting scopes. IMHO, it would be a good meetup for the NJGF crowd at some point. I wanted to go to get familiar with the M1 and be eligible for CMP purchase, I will do all the paperwork (it's a gov program) in the next couple weeks to buy one.

    Calm Down

Rayray, For some reason I thought you wrote Featherless leader I gotta get new contacts :geek:
  3. Welp, like I said I was one click away from owning 450 rds of 5.7 ammo, where, with the primers, it wouldn't let me start checkout at all. So I dunno, YMMV. Maybe they are different on the fone orders.
  4. Hmmmmmm.... I ordered a box of pistol ammo (.32 long) from Cabelas today, just to see what would happen. Of course it is BO, but there was nothing stopping me from making the order. I tried the primer thing, and I see where that stopped me, that it could not be shipped to my NJ address. FS&G I tried to order pistol ammo that was in stock (FN 5.7) and it let me proceed no problem. I don't have an FN, so I canx it. Is there some NJ thing about primers being hazmat or some bizarreness like that? So is it only primers or handgun ammo as well?
  5. When'd this happen? I have had Cabelas shipping me stuff for awhile, but there are long backorders. I think I still have some BO now. Hmm, will have to look. If its true, then I will make a point of calling the Christie campaign & get their pos on it, and make mine known to them.
  6. Ach, not this week, but will try for next week, too busy w/work. Will try & get to CJRPC Thurs
  7. Maks, My boots jeans & tshirt from my workplace at Ft. Dix, I drive by CJRPC twice a day going to & from work. Will have to go all the way home & then back to Stump Tavern Rd, though to pick my stuff up. Thanks for the info, Wolfy & Tiny--
  8. I am finally gonna stop over at CJRPC Wed nite for new member nite, won't be at BA this week, would have liked to try some shotguns, I am wanting to get one in the next few months. Question for the forum, I read the stuff I am supposed to bring, do they allow more shooting after the orientation is over, or are first time members limited to the 10 rds specified? Anyways, if anyone's at CJRPC wed, I will have my Sig and probably work clothes still on
  9. Argh, you people are making me want to go and buy one NOW! looks like I will be buying a birthday prez for myself somehwere

    Hi Point Pistols

Same caveats as above, you may want to look at Rock Island Arsenal/Armscor for a "budget" .45. Great customer service.
  11. Is it the Rt33 car wash? Or the one in Rt. 9?
  12. 78 Triumph Bonneville and 01 Suzuki Bandit 1200. Only get to do commutingt hese days, o time to do long runs, maybe take the long way home sometimes.
  13. Its actually 2 buildings on Eastbound County Line just west of a bank and CVS, which are at Bennetts Mills. IIRC, there is an insurance agency or two and some other offices, possibly Docs/dentists/financial planners, whatever. I dont rememebr names offhand. SO no range there for sure. The bldgs are shared & multifloor and much smaller that the Lakewood bldgs that have BA and SS in them. Plus there's houses right in back, the Lake Enno section of Jackson. Will see what happens. but it would be cool to be able to buy guns & maybe ammo and shoot in the same town where I live. I will probably hit CJRPC at the end of this month.
  14. I saw the sign up on the board for that office bldg they are in. Mostly a doc/dentist & insurance type office bldg. Great location for me though! I hope that the recent one handgun a month nonsense has not caused them to change their minds. Last time I had called, which was right after I saw the sign go up, several weeks ago, there was no message. So I had no idea if it was a firearms retailaer or a gym for people that want to work on their "arms"
  15. I just checked on a BO I had w/ Cabela's for Federal AE FMJ in 9mm & .45, the 9MM shipped and will be in next week, and the .45 is BO till 7/15 That order was placed 4/28. On another note, I just ordered Magtech .45 & 9mm (on 6/20) and the 45 shipped already and the 9mm is BO. I also have the bulk box w/ free plastic storage box coming next week, another BO from April. So seems spotty, but they are catching up. Cheaper than dirt is OK, yes, they are jacking up their prices, but that's supply & demand at work for ya. Ammo to go is dry dry dry, Wideners as well, Natchez is intermittent, you just need to catch them at the right time. No issues with Cabela's, really, they do send emails periodically saying the stuff is still BO and do I want to canx or not. They also do not charge until they ship, so its no skin off to cancel an order.
  16. tb, since you are local to me, I would also be interested in a reloading class, want to see how feasible it would be for me to do that, and am just curious about it in general
  17. I am happy with my was NIB P226 (a Daniel influenced purchase as well) and have shot a P228, Sig 1911 and SigPro as rentals, forget the model but they were all 9mm except the 1911 of course. All very nice, I prefer them to the brick-like feel (to me) of the Glocks. The Sig board guys have a hardcore group the believe the only real Sig is a 100% German made one.
  18. I heard back from Sen. Dancer's office promptly this AM, he and his Assembly cohorts Singer and Malone are all voting against,so they say.

    More than one gun?

Yeah, with two small boys that can get into anything and everything and are great at figuring things out, especially the breaking of said things, my HD primary is four legged also. Will probably add some long guns next year, a .22LR & shotgun, most likely an 870 or equivalent.

    Hi All

Have heard of NJGF for a time, been lurking a few weeks, decided to join. Am in NW Ocean Co., close enough to 4 ranges (BA/SS/Dix/CJRPC) that I finally decided to get back into shooting. Was in military (got out 22 yrs ago), then an occasional plinker with OPG's, shooting at cans, targets on trees, bowling pins etc., mostly when out in PA camping/canoeing. Work and live in the same area, go to BA about once every 10 days-2 weeks or so, most often late-nite, after 9PM, weekdays. Currently own Sig P226 9mm, RIA GI 1911, and Nagant m1895 (WW2 souvenir from grandfather). Will probably join CJRPC in Aug or so. Hope to meet up w/some of you at BA or maybe the August CMP activity at CJRPC, am planning on going to that.
