  1. NOW YOUR TALKING! Just make it in .450 Marlin so I can borrow it! Would you go 7.5 or 10 inch barrel?
  2. S&W are very nice. I have a .44 mag M29 Mountain Gun Blued that is fun to shoot with either .44 Spl for Mag in it. Don't overlook Taurus. They have been bad-mouthed at times, but I have a snubby in 9mm and it works great. They also have a lifetime warranty and stand behind it. As far as caliber goes: .45LC and .44 Spl have about the same recoil. The nice part about the .44 Mag revolvers are you can go up and down in power as you feel a need too. Another point to consider if you are talkling about HD is flash and noise. With a short barrel you can easily be temporarily blinded and deaft after the first two shots. If you are using a snubby there are custom ammo loads out there that burn faster so you don't get as much flash from it. All it takes is money! Best of luck. If your Dad wants to try a S&W .44 mag, PM me. Bob
  3. Thanks for keeping us informed! Pics if you can swing it! Thanks Bob
  4. Just a newbie starting into it for a special purpose. Picked up a RTF Hubsan X4 Micro Quadcopter to see if I can get the hang of it. Left it with a friend who flys RC and now he won't give it back ! Bob
  5. Good to know. So halted is better tha discontinued.
  6. Pythagoras I feel your pain. Here a couple of long shots from other forums. Best of Luck! Heritage Guild in Easton, PA & Branchburg, NJ have all three calibers for $799. (as of 5 days ago) Shop in Hooksette NH called Rileys 603-485-5000 (as of 7 days ago) I am not going to part with mine unless somebody makes an insane offer I can' refuse! PS Gun Broker haas plenty available for even insaner prices! (2x new list for used!)
  7. II thought you meant the Chiappa Rhino !
  8. http://www.amazon.com/Stack-On-PDS-500-Drawer-Safe-Electronic/dp/B002KEIU4W
  9. Thanks David8613 Looked at it, but reviews say it has no backup key if the electronics go south. The next model up for $59,04 is said to have an external 9volt battery hookup as a backup. Wonder if this one has the same backup? The Stack-On PDS-500 Drawer Safe with Electronic Lock on Amazon $39.97 has a key backup. But then you could lose the key too!
  10. Have a simliar situation currently with Impact Guns. Wanted to buy locally, but only availability (in the forseeable future ) was by the net. They are up front in say they are over whelmed with orders and not able to finish the process in a normal time frame. They apologized and put the delay at about 5 to 10 days. So far it is about 4 days and counting. I would go local if you can. Been to Bullseye and it is an interesting place! Have only bought ammo there. Chris is happy to talk to you and seems like a good guy to deal with. I would also recommend Lou's In Raritan and Jim Flynns in the Clinton Area, but they are both a little farther from you. Either way, if you have to do the NICs check it is currently a several day process. Best of luck! Bob
  11. Sorry Topher, for the late reply. I thought I had clicked on following this topic ! Recoil is not bad at all. Two hand or one. But I do not have the best of shooting technigues so I cannot comment on accuracy. I bought the conceald hammer version because at the time it was all they had. I would prefer the exposed hammer version if I had to do it all over again. I believe Taurus is making them again. Street price somewher around $400
  12. Congrats irescue on your new shotgun! I am interested in what you find out as I have an 870 on order right now and was not planning on doing much with it. Doing some research, I found a couple of sites with info. Not verifying it for accuracy or content. Let the reader beware! This one seems to be pretty decent. http://www.rem870.com/2012/07/20/remington-870-followers-overview-vang-comp-systems-cdm-gear-sbe-precision-ggg-sj-hardware-scattergun-technologies-choate-nordic/ This other one really has a long back and forth about SS followers causing damage in the long run to the lip of the follower stop in the 870. This one started back in 2010, so my thinking is either this is not really an issue, or it happens only with very high usage. I include it only as FYI. It had me scratching my head! http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1193646 Do you plan on replacing the spring too?
  13. Congrats! You have a nice rifle there. I have one but it is out in Arizona at a friends ranch. Try the Beretta Forum for a lot more info on it. http://berettaforum....isplay.php?f=38 + one to Dirtyigz on the spring/rod upgrade. Athough with a new one you might at least already have the one piece offered by Berreta. On the trigger, try it for a while if its OK for you keep it the way it is. Houts sells some spare stuff for it, and has some interesting reading. http://www.houtsente...es.com/cx4.html And spare mags and a speed loader !
  14. Best of luck with it. I was over at Lou's yesterday (very nice folks there) Got to touch it..............sigh! ;-)
  15. Count me in for two cases. If you need it I have a van with the back two seat removed so could probably take it all in one shot. I am about 15 minutes from Clinton, so the shot up to the North is not a problem.
  16. Now it looks like there has been a price reality shift on Gunbroker! KSG $2,000 UTAS $1200 Bluelinefish, if you did not have a KSG (color me green with envy here),and were going to buy now, would you buy a KSG or a UTAS?
  17. +1 on what Dan said. I sold, because I have never gotten around to using it, and the latest stuff got me off the fence. Am I getting out of shooting and guns? NO! Sticking with my first love lever actions.
  18. Looking to refinish a Marlin 1895M Anyone have any experience in refinishing their firearm in Hard Chrome or Cerakote H? And in specfic with this operation? APW Cogan (Bob Cogan) Accurate Plating and Weaponry, Inc. 5229 County Road 99 Newville, Alabama 36353 Thanks!
  19. Bingo! You can drive down to the staging area and drop off your stuff. If there is still parking there great! If not, then you can drive up the hill and park. There is only one road so it is preety straight forward.
  20. Just to clarify, exit 13 is only from the West Bound Side. (Which should not be an issue for most of you) It is just after you pass the Clinton Station DInner (with one of the biggest hamburgers!) I dare you! :-) Exit 12 (from the west bound side) is just a little past the Wildlife center and has the most amenities. Almost directly across from the entrance is a Pilot Center with the best gas prices of the three at that exit. It also has big bathrooms and HUGH cups of coffee and a Subway Station which has breakfast sandwiches. If you turn left and go through the Traffic Light, the Exxon Station has a Dunkin Donnut Nook in it and a bathroom of sorts. If you turn left and left at the light, just across the highway is a Bagel Smith with some of the best sausage, egg and cheese sanwiches as well as fresh bagels, and good coffee. Exit 12 (from the east bound lane) brings up to a light with the Bagel Smith catty-corner on the other side. Turn Left at the light and you will end up with the Exxon on your left and the Pilot on your right. Turn right to get to the Wildlife Center. The entrance is just a little past the USA Rental Center and is marked with a wooden sign. The first road is the center and the shotgun range is all the way in the back and just before you turn to go up the hill to the offices. The second entrace off of 173 is the Blackpowder range. Hope this helps! Bob
  21. And a Saiga!? Too many nice toys! :-) Would like to get a close up look at the KSG. Have to work but maybe if I get out early................ Looks like you folks are going to have a blast! (no pun intended) One note if you have not been there before. The shotgun area has plenty of parking up the hill from it. The black powder area is a completely separate enterance and parking is very limited, you might want to car pool from the shotgun area. Also as a heads up, down the road about a mile is a Pilot Service center, so you can get food, rest rooms etc. fairly close by. Hope to see you there. Bob
  22. Just got my box in. The real deal! Thanks! Bob
