  1. Has anybody been checking Meltzers or Ramsey Outdoor? I saw a few pistols, not much in regards to shotguns or larger caliber rifles. Whole lot of 22's.
  2. I passed by RTSP today twice during shopping with the wife. Looked decent but not as busy as some days. May just be a Sunday.
  3. So it seems business as usual. Possible 20% are new shooters and 20% have decided to hold on to their ammo for the time being and not go. Any potential lost business replaced itself. I'm sure there is some deep, extensive economic formula at play here...or not. Glad to hear the RTSP guys are doing well.
  4. I was considering going to RTSP today... Decided to skip this time.
  5. With the ammo prices up in the air, high unavailability/purchase limits on a lot of popular calibers and people hoarding...are ranges seeing less people coming in to shoot?
  6. Unfortunately in my experience in business, customers tend to suffer with family run establishments. It's harder to get fired for offering poor customer service or no service at all when your Father or Brother is the boss. Not for nothing, a few times I went in and had a neutral/positive experience. Mostly when I was picking up an FFL transfer or it was really slow in the shop.
  7. You can also call the dealer and ask for a NJ sale and see if they will make it compliant for a few extra bucks. I had to convince one that a Wasr10 was legal in NJ if he kept the 30 round mags.
  8. Aww, c'mon. Frank's a good guy. I went with an Indian/Israeli, he had no problems.
  9. Picked up my first AR. Great and easy transaction! Thanks for the pointers and breakdown/operation.
  10. American Eagle 55gr FMJ. 4 box max @ $13.99 ea. The gentleman behind the counter said they will be sold out before closing tomorrow.
  11. Usually the Chief of Police is the guy to speak to. I have heard of something similar. Good chance someone is still on payroll and possibly remembers that day. In my story, they reimbursed as the officers filed them as forfeited to the state.
  12. I may be grabbing a part time job at a local outdoor supply store. I will be sure to post alerts of ammo and primer shipments if the schedule works out for me.
  13. Before my safe, I chained the plastic case with padlock to a shelf in bedroom closet.
  14. I have had quite a few bad experiences. Lousy service, bait and switch on supplies and rude staff. Get in, get what you need and get out. The only good thing I can say is that they have a good RO there. Not sure of his name but people call him Kip. Guess because of that movie, Napolean Dynamite. Meltzers, Silver Bullet and RTSP would be my top choices.
  15. True. We would get chased out and pulled over before anyone can make it out of the parking lot. Reminds me of when I was in Bullet Hole waiting in line ( like usual ) and some guy was selling his deceased fathers shotguns. The guy had an FID but just needed money. The guy behind the counter offered $50 each. We all were shocked at the offer and a few of us said we would offer $250 out in the parking lot for each one. As we walked out, the employee said it was illegal and he was calling the cops. One of the other buyers said " f*ck you guys, I AM a cop". FYI, I always keep eligibility forms in my car...you never know when you'll need one. Just a fun story to share and the reason why I have never been back to the Hole.
  16. http://dcxposed.com/2013/01/27/seattle-gun-buyback-gets-jacked-turns-into-a-damn-gun-show-lol/
  17. Wow. That sucks. I remember the days of picking up bricks of 22 like loaves of bread on the shelves...and that was only a few years ago! I'm not an old timer, I'm 32! Sad and scary.
  18. My father is retired and was the president of the Kiwanis of San Francisco last year or so. He donates his time for local gov jobs and assisted with a buy back program. He said it was mostly older people, sons and daughters of deceased gun owners, widows, etc. He commented on how it was very similar to medication drops. People have these things that they don't understand, or need or want and want a safe place to get rid of them. I'm sure if you are in a different demographic, the types of people and reasons are much different.
  19. I try to go every other week. Good excuse to get three hours of walking exercise. I go for the camping gear, old cameras, antiques, hunting stuff, tools, household goods, etc. Today I picked up a brand new in box Keurig Elite coffee maker for $20 and 2 boxes of CCI Blazer 357 JHP for a buck each. Also got some power tool batteries, small handful of mercury dimes and a night light for my daughters room. The ammo was a rare find. Been going for a few years now and never saw live ammo. I heard that the new owners are charging more for the vendor spaces so about half of them dropped out. Not as many as there used to be and one full lane of the garage sale people are gone. Maybe they will return during the summer.
  20. I live about a minute down the street off 10. Good people there. Pricey.
  21. That's a lot of info but I should have specified, the shop gave him the holster. He didn't pick it. I will pass him on the Andrewsleather.com. Thanks again.
  22. I would separate them just so nothing stupid happens and you end up on the News at 10. Otherwise, primers by themselves stored safely anywhere in your car is fine.
  23. Hoping you all can help. My brother in law who is military and lives in Florida just purchased a Glock 26 as his primary CCW. The holster the shop gave him is horribly uncomfortable. These are his requests and wants to know if you all can suggest something as some of you may have more experience with holsters. Inside or outside pants Can be removed quickly I.e. no belt loops Leather Prefferably for the small of the back He will also be needing a shoulder holster as he wants to get into security. -Thanks.
