  1. The P938 is pretty sweet, so is the p239. I'm very inclined towards 1911's, so I'd probably look at a carry model of 1911 for my own use. Nice and thin, good size. The CZ-75 Compact or CZ-P01 would be one I'd want to try as well.
  2. Sig's seem to be one of the best ~$1000 1911 buys right now. I also like the clean billboard on the slide. Magnum Research really needs to shrink that sucker down on their 1911, it's ridiculous .
  3. Glock or Springfield out of that list. None of them would be my first choice, but out of the ones listed those are it. Taurus may have a lifetime warranty, but god help you if you actually need to use it. Their customer service has never been very good.
  4. I came VERY close to buying a Nightmare, but I really liked the reverse two tone and the traditional model.
  5. Yes, it's a rubber wrap around from Hogue. I really like it, very comfortable.
  6. Ya, disposed of down in Mexico maybe...
  7. Picked this up on Gunbroker, Ira at Legend Firearms did the transfer (nice guy btw, he'll be doing my transfers from now on). Man it's a tight frame with a really really good trigger for series 80, I'm VERY happy right now. My crappy 10 year old digital camera doesn't really do it justice. Here's my Sig collection Sig556 Swat patrol Sig 1911 RTSS Sig P226 .40
  8. I've used it on several things, I wouldn't use it for home defense but it's pretty good for target practice.
  9. Except they lied to you, the state isn't backed up any longer last I heard.
  10. I just bought 500 rounds of .45 for $16 a box shipped. $15 off coupon plus I'm a member so I get little discount, but even non member price is pretty good. Coupon code is SGSAVE713 http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/150rd-45-acp-230gr-fmj-ammo.aspx?a=1096374&CJ=1&cjaffilid=4084797&cjaffsite=adrian+laza&cjadv=CJTSGUSA&cjadvid=1522857&utm_source=adrian+laza&utm_medium=CJ&utm_campaign=Redirect-Enabled+Deep+Link#Silver+Bear%26reg%3B+.45+ACP%2C+230+Grain+FMJ+Ammo%2C+500+rounds%0A
  11. Eh, just don't setup in city limits. Those ordinances only apply in city limits.
  12. Well, it's dead right now because of the ammo prices and shortage. I think they are worried about what happens when ammo is cheap and plentiful again and people start coming in more often. But I'd not be surprised if they just saw an opportunity to get more money and took it, because of all the new people showing an interest and the lack of good facilities in this state to compete against. I was going to join myself, but now I think I'll not. I'm not paying a $600 fee, that's just ridiculous. If they were worried about too many people joining, they could have just put in a waiting list that said said we allow X amount of new members per year. We'll put you on a list based on first come first serve for next year if you don't make it in this one.
  13. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/fiocchi-shooting-dynamics-45acp-230gr-fmj-50rds-45a.html http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/sellier-bellot-45-acp-230gr-fmj-v311252u.html $19.99 and $22 I bought 5 boxes of the Sellier and Bellot for $11 shipping, so not bad.
  14. You aren't limp wristing are you?
  15. I had pictures at one time but I deleted them . I'll have to find them again.
  16. I got to test a couple of new guns this weekend, and this was the other one. I bought this thing back in January I believe but haven't been able to test it out until recently. The short part... it was awesome! Now for the longer part. I really like the trigger on this thing, it was light with a clean break. And the recoil was sublime. It's a bit nose heavy and 5.56 doesn't recoil much to begin with. It was accurate once I figured out the diaopter sight it came with. I'm going to need some optics though, I'm getting vision issues in my old age . I tried American Eagle, Herters, and Independence with no problems at all. It's a snap to dissemble and clean. Even the gas blow back system is easy, and I thought that would be a pain. Now, some things that could be improved are the diaopter sights. It might be better outside with better lighting but it took me a while to get used to, and I couldn't try out the 100yd + because the range I was using only has 25yd. The other thing I wish they'd done is not use a pencil barrel. It's doesn't hurt in anyway, I just think it'd look better This isn't the gun for everyone, but it's the one for me. If you like a simple design similar to an AK, but with better build and accuracy this might be the one for you. If you were in the military and are more comfortable with the AR-15, maybe not... though you might find you like it You can also get it chambered in 7.62x39 , which is pretty cool if you aren't a 5.56 person. And don't get suckered by old reviews. When they first released the rifle back in the day it had some issues, but Sig fixed any that were sent back to them and all the new ones since like 2008 or so are rock solid.
  17. The .40 S&W round tends to be snappy by nature. I have a sig p226 in 40 and it does the same thing.
  18. Well, I finally took my latest handgun out for a test spin this weekend. I bought it about 3 months ago, but haven't had the chance. I was very pleased with it. No FTF and accurate with a low recoil.(I was using cheap bear steel cased ammo) The thing is heavy though and it's built like a tank. I mean seriously, if all else fails you can just throw it at someone or beat them with it if you had to! It really throws the spent casings which might make it harder for reloaders. I hear there's a different recoil spring you can get to fix that if it bugs you. The slide mounted de-cocker/safety wasn't an issue for me though some may not be happy with it. For those that don't know it's a CZ-75 clone, just looks better (my opinion, I know ) I've been wanting a CZ-75 for a while now, but they are pita to find for a reasonable price. The fit and finish on the gun is fairly good too, no complaints there. And the trigger breaks cleanly and is smooth out of the box. The one thing it needs is night sights. Also aftermarket parts are few and far between though 10 round mags made for the CZ-97 and witness .45's are supposed work just fine. (The witness and jericho are made by Tangfolio, but the Jericho is made for Israeli Weapons Industries and marketed by Magnum Research) So if you've been looking for a CZ-75 but can't find them or don't want to pay the markup that's currently getting charged, take a look at one of these. They have 9mm, .40, and .45, all steel or polymer, in 3 different sizes.
  19. That's why I have my facebook setup so only people in my friends list can view my posts.
  20. You'll be getting a form letter if you're lucky. They aren't listening, so we'll need to make them listen by making them unemployed during the next elections.
  21. Incorrect, no dealer in this state who values his license will sell you handgun without your FPID and P2P in hand.
  22. It's impossible for the state to know your mental health or if it was a one time thing, or something chronic. Get the letter and move on. Doesn't matter how "old" you were.
  23. Wow, 100 boxes just disappeared in 5 minutes. They are out.
  24. http://sgammo.com/product/silver-bear/50-round-box-45-auto-230-grain-fmj-steel-case-silver-bear-ammo I picked up 5 boxes so I have something to try out my new .45 with after NICS clears. They only have a few boxes left.
